  1. You could always elect to ignore the conversation in question. It is a major aspect of the film, so I don't see why we shouldn't be allowed to address it here.
  2. I was thinking about this the other day as well. An open-ending like that could leave everyone to speculate however they chose. Steggy shippers can assume he went back to her. Stucky shippers can think he's stuck and can't find his way back or that he's in another timeline with him. Anyone who could care less about his love life can imagine whatever scenario they like. Those of us who desperately want Evans to return can hold on to that hope, even if it's unlikely. This would work on a lot of levels. If he goes around doing all this hero stuff in his past, he's bound to create changes big enough to upset the timeline. This is why a closed loop can't work. I watch a lot of science shows and things about the multiverse and such. Max Tegmark, a professor at MIT, explained that any small change one makes could create another universe. I know the writers claim they talked to physicists about things of this nature, but they didn't seem to apply that science in the end.
  3. The article is spot-on. This bit: FACTS. I respect your opinion, but in my opinion everything you just said is completely out of character for Steve. Steve Rogers does not run away from a fight. Never has. Nor does he assume someone else will handle things if a situation is "pointed south," to quote him from Civil War.
  4. Cap wielding Mjolnir was everything. EVERYTHING.
  5. I agree. Not sure why but there is something off-putting to me about it. It's too extra or something. Just focusing on those who knew him best catches me in the feels more.
  6. LOL. I'd like to throw Timothy Olyphant's name out there. Especially now that he's all silver fox and whatnot.
  7. I'm not here to see Thor lose yet another loved one. I may not care for Portman as Jane, but I don't want to see her die either. That would just be cruel at this point.
  8. I also don't have a problem with her when she isn't in sci-fi/fantasy. Her acting is sub-par in those genres. Not unlike Halle Berry, who is competent enough to win an Oscar in a dramatic role, but downright AWFUL as Storm.
  9. I'm not thrilled about this either. Kind of bums me out really. I was pumped for the new Thor film, but Hemsworth's chemistry with Portman is... non existent. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sounds AMAZING!
  10. To be fair, who wouldn't jump off the stage to cuddle with a dog? Answering the same crap over and over has got to be stale as hell. They should just let a bunch of puppies on stage with the actors to interact with while doing Q&A's. That would be tops.
  11. Aside from the grey hair, Olyphant seems to be aging backwards IRL.
  12. That's fucking dark. Um, yeah. Thanks for sparing us that grisly shit and not fucking decapitating any version of Captain America, guys.
  13. I remain delighted anytime Tom Holland lights up the screen as Spidey. He is perfection in the role. I thought the film was great fun overall. I'm a comic nerd and knew the score with Beck from the start. I didn't mind the Tony stuff so much, but I do think it strange that we only see Iron Man tributes everywhere. The world thinks Captain America is dead, but no props for him? Vision and Widow I can kind of understand from a popularity standpoint. I loved the two teachers beyond reason. The one obsessed with magic & witches was cracking me up. The J. Jonah Jameson bit has me conflicted. On the one hand, it was a nice nod to the previous films, but on the other hand, I feel strangely shook by it. It almost feels like a Deadpool 4th wall break, and that makes me uncomfortable. If Jameson comes back in the next film, things get weird for me. I don't wanna have Hugh Jackman popping up as Wolverine in a future X-Men film and whatnot. He was great in the role, mind you, but this is the MCU. I don't want films outside of that muddying the water.
  14. The writers are caught up in a messy lie. They'll never admit it. Like a kid with cookie crumbs all over it's face, vehemently denying they ate any. It's so stupid at this point.
  15. https://www.cinemablend.com/news/2475833/watch-chris-evans-struggle-to-explain-avengers-endgames-steve-and-peggy-timeline-continuity Don Cheadle's answer for the win: Also, this bit from the Russos: Wish we could get Feige's take on things.
  16. Even if I wasn't salty about the ending, re-releasing it so close to Far From Home isn't wise, IMO. I'm saving up to see FFH. I already saw Endgame twice. Either you have an alternate ending attached that doesn't disgust me, or you don't get my money again for this film. Them's the breaks, Marvel.
  17. Steve is my favorite, too. I am sitting at your table, waiting for you to pass the magic kool-aid that helps me forget. Evans is really good in Gifted and Before We Go (which he also directed).
  18. More than likely because they really wanted Tony to die, and this was the most heroic way to go out.
  19. You said the directors were, but there's plenty of blame to go around. 😉
  20. I should have stressed this in my original post, but what I was saying is that the writers version of how time travel works puts Sharon in that very situation. Either she knew her uncle was Steve or she didn't. But according to the writers he was her uncle all along, and that makes it all 10x more absurd than originally intended.
  21. We've spoken at length about how gross it is that Steve is making out with his "niece," but it only just occurred to me how ridiculous this scenario paints Sharon. How completely oblivious do you have to be to not recognize your uncle is Steve Rogers? That's hella embarrassing for a SHIELD agent. On top of that, you then proceed to make out with a dude that looks exactly like a young version of your uncle. That's squicky. On the other hand, if I'm assuming Sharon isn't a complete moron and knows who Uncle Steve is, then that means she knowingly put the moves on her uncle right after his wife/her aunt died. Which makes her a garbage human. Not a good look either way.
  22. Very this, Markus and McFeely.
  23. Tatum is beyond wrong for the role, IMO. It's not Nicolas Cage as Superman bad, but it's pretty damned bad. I didn't adore Kitsch, but he had charm and charisma. It's a shame he didn't even attempt the accent and just went for a general southerner. Best thing about that shitbomb of a film was Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth. I'm not very familiar with Keery or Holbrook. I have seen the latter in Logan, though. I think we potentially could see an awesome Gambit onscreen, but it would take casting the likes of Evans as Cap or Holland as Spidey. Someone out there is perfect for the role. Get on that shit, casting directors! I don't like the idea of them casting young for the X-Men. Do a Generation X film down the line... I was gonna say New Mutants, but that fresh turd is already on it's way to stink up the joint. Anyhoo, my point is I'm totally sour on the idea of seeing the original 5 as teenagers. Those last 2 Fox films nearly broke me. And I haven't even seen Dark Phoenix. That's how broken I am. I'll wait until that disappointment airs on TV. Oh, noes! I love me some original flavor Point Break!
