  1. His performance was fantastic. He broke my heart and made me laugh simultaneously. I know a lot of people are upset that they played his pain for laughs, but Hemsworth was so outstanding in selling the grief mixed with humor that I couldn't be mad at it.
  2. Word. I saw it the day after it opened, and the theater was howling with laughter. My second viewing was a week later, and there was very little laughing. I still can't deal with the directors and writers not being of one mind when it comes to Cap's ending. Ugh.
  3. I actually don't hate Age Of Ultron at all. It's not on my best list, but I love me some Vision and think his MCU origins are inspired. Whedon was great at writing snarky characters like Loki and Tony, but he struggles more with an earnest character like Steve, IMO.
  4. Nebula and Tony at the beginning was super interesting to me. Seeing her nurturing side in this film was great; Those moments with Tony, her and Rocket holding hands. Love that stuff. All in stark contrast to 2014 Nebula, showcasing how far she's come as a character.
  5. If you would have told me 20 years ago that Cap would be my favorite Avenger in film, I would have died laughing. They absolutely struck gold with Chris Evans. The writing for Cap has more or less consistently been good (the Whedon films, maybe not so much), and Evans sells the shit out of it. It's similar to how I feel about Christopher Reeve as Superman. Also, I adore a good underdog story, and Steve Roger's origin is as good as they come.
  6. I wish these films did a better job at showing the team forming meaningful bonds with one another outside of work. I was thinking about poor Thor. Here he is living on Earth for the past five years, and no one on the team seems aware that he's fallen apart. He's closest to Bruce, and he was obviously shocked by Thor's state. Steve is leading a support group to help people cope and move on, and Thor is a damned wreck. Was there really no communication, no visits? This is sad.
  7. I saw it again today and found myself tearing up during Nat's peanut butter sandwich. I lost it when Peter started crying and was messed up until the end. Definitely more emotional the second time. Re-watching the epic fight at the end was a delight, but I'm still wondering how the hell Thanos was so powerful without the gauntlet? Thor had two magic hammers all by himself! The amount of mojo he was wielding was insane, plus Iron Man & Cap? Come on, now. Still, I was beyond thrilled to see it all play out on screen. As a comic fan, I don't think any superhero film to come can top that feeling for me.
  8. I can't... Heh. Same. I've been doing a tremendous amount of bitching considering how much I loved it. I just can't help being salty about that ending. The people around me keep getting glazed over looks on their faces every time I mention the film, and they just nod their heads. LOL.
  9. I heavily debated adding Ant Man & The Wasp to my list. The Winter Soldier will probably always be my favorite. I'm a massive comics nerd, but I'm pretty sure had I lived my whole life without them, I would still think that movie was stellar.
  10. Heh. Maybe it's just with the kids? I caught about 10 episodes of the Avengers Assemble cartoon a while back, and I swear Hulk was the main focus of every one of them. I could see how a friendly Hulk who's approachable would appeal. I... don't really dig him. I'm more into OG Hulk bitching about the stairs. His CGI looked a little wonky sometimes, too. Ragnarok Hulk looked better and was more entertaining, IMO.
  11. LOL. I hate it when incompetent writing makes an otherwise intelligent character come off a fool. I swear I read somewhere that they --the writers or directors, I can't recall -- showed a section of the script to some random crew member --I forget what his specific job was-- and he was all about them changing Clint's death to Nat's. They agreed because apparently, that's how big decisions were getting made in regards to major shit like life and death. What kind of buffoonery is this? The more I think about them snapping the 50% back 5 years later, the more unsettled I become. Ignoring the ramifications economically, just on a psychological level, what kind of a mindfuck are you putting the survivors through just so Tony's daughter remains untouched? These people have been through hell, most if not all probably suffer from PTSD, some will have moved on and started new families. Now, all those lost loved ones suddenly return as if no time has passed for them at all? This is a clusterfuck of emotional turmoil. It's cruel. Yes, you've undone something horrible, but in the sloppiest damned way imaginable. It's likely that Tony & Pepper still would have conceived Morgan had they reversed the snap right after it happened 5 years ago (assuming anyone but Tony uses the gauntlet). Even if they didn't, what the actual hell? The little girl is precious and all, but this is insane...
  12. I was thinking that it's a possibility that Nat's solo film might not be a full-on prequel. It could be Nat from one of the alternate timelines. It's unlikely... but it would open up the door for cameos by Tony or Cap. Again, unlikely, but they have made this possible.
  13. The Winter Soldier Civil War Ragnarok Infinity War Avengers Endgame Captain America: First Avenger Black Panther Homecoming Thor That was hard... I really wanted to fit Ant-Man & The Wasp, Iron Man, and Doctor Strange in there somewhere.
  14. LOL. I read one last night that said Steve went back, had his dance with Peg and said farewell, then went and found Bucky and married him! Supposedly, the reason he was so vague about the ring with Sam was because Buck was the husband. 😂 It was clearly Steve dancing with Peggy, BTW. They showed him up close, closing his eyes as they swayed.
  15. That moment wasn't organic at all and that bugged. It was perfection in Infinity War. Don't get me wrong, it was cool to see all the women in a kick ass moment, but it was so very forced.
  16. LMAO. He looked alright for an ancient dude. Kind of like Clint Eastwood without all the scary malice in his face. Been thinking on this... that timeline is very different for Quill in particular. He never meets Gamora. Perhaps the X-Men are in this one and he hooks up with Kitty Pryde. 😉
  17. Thing is, Thanos destroys all the stones, like, 20 something days later after the snap? I don't see how snatching the gauntlet right before the snap causes much hardship at all, other than an alternate, awesome snapless timeline. Shit, I'm depressed that this didn't happen now.
  18. You could even go back to just before he snapped in the OG timeline. Thor intercepts original Thor and aims for the damned head, they snatch the glove and head back to the present. That's doing a serious solid for that branch off from the timeline. Those folks never even experience the damned snap in the first place.
  19. I thought about this as well. Not much room for hi-jinks and shenanigans then, so I guess this was waved.
  20. You know that clip in the trailer when Steve appears to be pissed and clinching his jaw in the group therapy session? I don't recall seeing it in the film. Makes me wonder what they cut out there. What else is missing that was in the trailer? I know the scene where Scott shows up at the compound was edited to make Nat look like she still had the blond bob.
  21. Not only would alternate timelines occur when the stones were stolen, but surely Steve putting them back branched off even more. How the hell does he get the Reality Stone back into Jane for example? Wondering what Loki is getting up to with that Space Stone right about now...
  22. Facts according to Endgame. I still feel like it undermined both character arcs and was a degression for Steve.
  23. Personally, I don't argue that he truly loved her, but I will argue that they both moved on and made peace with not getting that dance. Endgame Cap is a very different man from Avengers 1 Cap. Or he should have been, but ya know...
  24. I really liked that when Tony steps off the Milano at the beginning of the film that Steve was the first one to run up and help him out. In spite of all the Civil War bullshit, he's right there for him. Also, the scene following later when Tony deliriously goes off on him, though painful to watch, was very well acted.
