I've been watching Grey's on and off for the entirety. And now I think I'm just hate watching it and am so annoyed by what everyone has been saying. So, in that vein, a few comments: 1. Would someone please call 911 for Jo's hair? It's not that it may just not be everyone's cup of tea, or a style they don't like. I truly believe it is flat out horrendous. It looks like a wig. A bad wig at that. A wig made out of dry straw. That color and style does nothing for her. Nothing. 2. Would someone tell Teddy to STFU? I'm so tired of her running around, dragging anyone who will listen into her problems. Teddy is a liar and has kept big secrets herself -- hypocritical. And telling that woman that she would call the police on her. What a crock. 3. Schmidt needs to go. Take that as you like.

S02.E14: ...Wheatley Is To Stabler
hookedontv replied to WendyCR72's topic in Law & Order: Organized Crime
I don't really have too much to add to what everyone else has said. It was such a "trope" (as they say) that Wheatley's body was never found. I knew as soon as we saw them in the car that Angela was going to slam into something or fly off a hill. It was very predictable. And, I know I have a cold dead heart but I hate anything to do with Stabler's family. When is mom was kidnapped and she was scared and yelling, my brain was yelling "SHUT UP." Her voice really gets to me. I so want this show to just be a procedural drama. Maybe a short couple episode arcs here and there. I actually liked the Albanian storyline. But it stinks that if a storyline isn't liked by someone, the arcs on this show are SO LONG. The Wheatley character was the worst. Such a caricature. I didn't like him just as much as I didn't like Nicole on Criminal Intent. I would groan aloud when an episode would come on with Nicole on it. Everytime she said the name "Bobby" I wanted to punch her. As an aside, I did see that actress in a Broadway Play, I think it was the Odd Couple. Passed her in the lobby and she seemed like a lovely woman. -
Uh...what "doubts?" She said clearly she does not love him. RIght? Ximena told him she doesn't love him, doesn't want to be intimate him, finds him weird, and basically anything he does creeps her out. Oh, and "no boobies no wedding dress." Mike refuses to see the red flags that are as big as football fields waving all around him, and pathetically says "I'll change."

I agree with you here on this episode, it really was an odd/ridiculous scenario wasn't it? For many reasons, and I'll list a few: 1. The beligerant brother in the beginning -- too obvious and felt like something they threw him in to cast suspicion on him. 2. These women did TikToks in front of their house, number in plain sight, and live in a small town. It took mere minutes for the Catfish UK people to figure out where they lived. And the gals were shocked, I mean SHOCKED, that someone found their address? 3. The woman who sent the gifts was totally weird. She looked like a deer in the headlights. No way she sent "nice gifts with good intentions" because clearly, she knew they were creeping the gals out and she kept sending them anyway? And the gifts always included the note something along the lines of "I will always win"? I mean, she couldn't include a note that read: "Have a great day, your TikToks make me smile!"? 4. If I were the Scottish TikTokers, I would have nothing to do with that woman, which makes me think it was a made up story to attract more followers. In sum - it really wasn't a plausible story.

I must be one of a few to still be watching this show. I'm entertained by it. And I've started watching Catfish UK too.

Spring Baking Championship - General Discussion
hookedontv replied to Aethera's topic in Spring Baking Championship
Jesse actually sat at the table for prior shows (not sure which one he hosted, if it was spring or holiday or what - they all run together for me). I truly think it started during Covid, as I remember them all of a sudden sitting at a regular table (not behind a judges' table) so that they could all be about 6 feet apart/social distancing. It was at this change where the host started sitting at the table too. I too had never heard of Molly until I watched last night's episode. I will give her a chance, though her perpetual smile is a bit too maniacal for my taste. I just want to see people bake/create pretty and delicious desserts. My needs are small.- 3.4k replies

I quite enjoyed the segment on the King Cakes book. Although I've never really thought King Cakes looked appealing, I was drawn in by the diversity and history of them. I am a Ryan Reynolds fan and was happy to see his interview. His comments about his lifelong struggle with anxiety seemed genuine and it is always refreshing to realize that "celebrities" often have the same fears and worries and conditions that the "rest of us" have.

S02.E13: As Hubris Is To Oedipus

For the love of all things good and kind (and my sanity): FUCKING END THE WHEATLEY STORY ARC!!!! -
I'm surprised I'm able to read these comments, my eyes were rolling so much watching this episode that I'm surprised I am not blind. I don't think I have anything new to add (haven't read ALL the comments) but I have to exorcise these thoughts out of my brain: 1. Dying patient who's daughter's wedding was 3 months away... How about being honest with him and his family, thereby potentially giving everyone an opportunity to at least push up a small bedside ceremony so the father could actually see is daughter get married? I've known people to push up or improvie important milestones in order for someone who is dying to hopefully participate as much as possible. While it seemed that he drifted off peacefully with the doctors around him -- Um, no family participated or was notified that he was on death's door? It may have been his decision not to tell anyone, but I do not remember that ever coming up. If I was the daughter, I would have wanted to know and I would have hauled ass to the hospital with my fiance, grabbed a JP, and gotten married right then and there. And had a full wedding later, doing something special to honor the dad that is no longer there. Wow, that was a lot, sorry for the free thinking rambling. I fast forwarded through the flashbacks, I found them boring and since I dislike that character so much, I didn't care to learn more about her. I think she used to play a character decades ago in the soap Guiding Light. And I never liked the actress. Like everyone else has said -- why is Helen having someone answer her phone in surgery? How unprofessional is that? There's voicemail, and if it was truly an emergency, Max could have called the hospital/clinic and said as much. That said, Helen should really think about answer the phone with these words: "Hi Max, you're on speaker." That's what I do if I take a call and I answer on speaker. The phone sex was sooooo cringy. It really was terrible. I was embarrassed for the show and the actors. I don't know how they got through it without laughing hysterically. For once, I didn't mind Iggy, though if I were that kid, I would have had to write my father off full stop. I don't know where this show is going or why I'm still watching. I think I'm hate watching at this point.

Cosigning ALL OF THIS. As a survivor myself, I get so tired of this narrative that there's only one way to survive. That if you don't prosecute, if you don't "shout it from the rooftops", that you're destined to be forever damaged and incapable of moving on. Nobody is owed my story, and I can deal with it as I see fit. If I told someone - in confidence - about my abuse, and they went to the fucking cops and reported it without my knowledge? (And then the cops started badgering me and insisting i had to remember things I've worked to move past?) That would be the end of our relationship. If the daughter had talked the bio mom into reporting, that would be different. But to take away her agency, her choice? Big fucking no. The daughter wants to think she's a victim. Of what? Having a great life with loving adoptive parents? SMH. The ONLY way this story would have been palatable to me was if the daughter was twelve. - signed, A Former Casual Viewer Who Only Tuned in Because I Watched the Reboot, and Was Reminded Why I Hated This Show All of this. I haven't watched SVU in quite some time, decided to give it a shot again, and all I can hear is Benson whispering, with a pained look on her face, forcing everyone to act how SHE would act. Different doesn't mean wrong, bitch. As many said -- the daughter was ridiculous. Every time she was on camera, her OTT goofy mannerisms were really off putting. I feel the daughter was completely in the wrong for going to the police under the guise of "helping" her bio mom. Her bio mom didn't want the help. It would have been bad enough if the daughter kept needling the bio mom, but after one meeting the daughter (i don't even remember her name, that's how little i liked her) decides to stroll into SVU to report her mom's rape. Her bio mom didn't consent to sex at 15, and she sure as hell didn't consent to have her rape brought to the police. As you said above, her agency and choise -- and consent -- were taken away. It really got under my skin and infuriated me.

I'm right there with you! There is nothing redeeming about her or her actions. And if she bought me a computer, I'd still feel the same!

I've been laughing for a full 20 minutes because of this genius quote! However, I'm now more than a little concerned at the thought of going to sleep tonight.

Kids Baking Championship - General Discussion
hookedontv replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Kids Baking Championship
My recording cut off right as they were announcing the winner (thanks DVR.) For the life of me, I couldn’t see the Golden Gate Bridge in that cake. I was OK with any one of them winning. BTW, loaded milkshakes don’t do anything for me. All I can imagine is how messy they would be to eat and how full I would be. Since germs freak me out and I never share food (seeing 4 people sticking their forks into a shared dessert makes me want to vomit), I would be left trying to eat the whole thing myself. -

Sadly, I haven’t heard from the guy I was kinda sorta seeing in over a week. No Valentine’s Day text or call. Sucks and makes me really sad, but I'm not going to beg. I refuse to be desperate like these idiots. -

Gino’s hat is now resting next to the toothbrush on the ground outside. They are talking about how grateful they are to be out of that shitshow of a relationship. Hat and brush are bonded now. -

Ben, she’s just not into you. She won’t hug you and she’s not saying she loves you. Wonder if you’ll ever see her again!
