I don’t actively dislike anyone on jeopardy although I do find most of the contestants pretty boring. I’ve been pretty happy with the ToC contestants though. I was sorry to see Jason lose and I felt very badly for Lisa, who just completely fell apart. You could see her having a breakdown. It was too bad because she’s a very good player. I don’t dislike Buzzy either although he has a fitting name given how he manhandles his poor buzzer. But all three of them seemed to lose it with their buzzers tonight.

My god, me too. And I was pathetic over someone way, way worse than Brandon. That’s why it extra embarrassing to watch her now.

My guess is a teen champ would not be able to keep up with some of these questions.

So interesting! It was a good strategy. And I bet Lilly is right that Austin got spooked by Alan. Alan tore it up. I like that Austin tried to figure out how to work around the more intimidating players. It may not win him the tournament but I like that he has strategy beyond the typical Jeopardy strategy of try to answer everything and bet 2-3 thousand if you get a DD.

I couldn’t believe no one got Megadeth. That was me screaming at the TV. One thing I like about Austin is he knows better than most when not to buzz in. So while the others hit some and miss some, he is really good about knowing what he doesn’t know. It sure paid off for him tonight and even in his quarterfinal game.

Ok, I think it’s a little harsh to say Austin was only lucky. He played a strong first round tonight and didn’t get any of the daily doubles to pad his score. It’s certainly not his fault the others screwed up. Lilly does everything way too fast and is in general a walking nervous tic and Andrew, while he has the broadest knowledge base, screwed up by going for a kill shot. It happens.

So happy Austin won although Andrew obviously knew more. My kids were screaming for Austin. They were so so so happy. I think my daughter might have a little crush which is hilariously cute. She had to leave the room for FJ because she was terrified he would lose. He always makes me laugh. His trip around the world was hilarious. He brings life to Jeopardy. I did like Andrew too though.

Why would you assume Austin even has a shot? From what I’ve seen so far, he is a far weaker player than Andrew, Alan and possibly even Lisa.
-
I like Lisa and I remembered her from her first run but her “oh gosh, me....really??!!!” faces when she wins her games.....I didn’t miss those at all. Give me a break, Lisa, you’re good at Jeopardy and it’s ok to acknowledge it.

I loved the Willie Wonka clue because my daughter so rarely gets clues about things she actually knows. They had a charlottes web clue the other day as well and she loved that too.

I was a little surprised at how sedate Austin was tonight. Was he just getting beaten to the buzzer by Twitchy McAnxious or did he truly not know the answers because I knew a fair number and I’m no Jeopardy expert. It didn’t look like he was even ringing in. FJ was an instaguess for me.

That does make sense. I just wish it were as enjoyable as it used to be.

Was figure skating always this boring to watch? I flipped on Skate Canada yesterday and found it basically unwatchable. And skaters are still skating to the same old stuff. The personalities 20-25 years ago were just flat out better.

I crave the sweet tartness of smarties. I absolutely loved the orange ones. Never ever ever was I disappointed to find smarties in my Halloween bin. Same with my kids. Perhaps it genetic. Twizzlers, tootsie rolls or Laffy Taffy though. GTFO with that stuff.

As for Tess being named after a fan, my friend and her husband wanted their young son to help name the new baby and he wanted to use “window”. So they looked at their Anderson windows and went with the name Anderson.

Omg, what’s wrong with Smarties! I love them.

Easiest FJ in living memory.

I’m right there with you. Still enjoying it. It’s actually the only TV show I watch (besides Jeopardy, which is a game show) because I generally hate TV.

First nobody ate salads on restaurant patios in the 90s now nobody wore off the shoulder fashion? Lol. It was 1990, not 1890. Really not that long ago in the grand scheme of things.

I mean, I guess it was a stretch to have cerebral mean cultivated but i know I would have picked it as the answer and I would have been super pissed off to be wrong. Oh well.
-
I had cerebral as well. Stupid FJ question, IMO.

What was the point of the ridiculous sound effects? Glad that the drippy Kathleen is gone. A contestant interview about learning to knit. Scintillating.

I completely disagree that the pregnancy storyline is unrealistic. I had my first about 10 years ago. I was peeing on a stick even before I missed a period (first response) and I was in the doctor for a blood test confirming it at like 5 weeks. At six weeks my obgyn did a dating ultrasound which put me at 6 weeks, 4 days pregnant. And I was not high risk, in excellent shape and had no reason to be concerned about anything. Kate has a reason for needing a doctor’s care immediately.
