  1. Did we see anything from season one to explain what might be causing this to happen? I kind of remember seeing it happen at the end of the season but I can't recall anything happening to her that would cause it. I think I remember her taking a trip in the lifeboat sometime prior to the fainting episode but nothing beyond that. Am I missing anything or is it just fodder for future storytelling?
  2. Check him out on Stan Against Evil playing a werepony, maybe that will help, lol!
  3. Totally agree, that felt off to me as well. I'm not really sure what the point of that possibly could have been. As for the trope of superheroes having relatives for antagonists, I think JJ the show has taken this as far as they possibly can. In the case of a third season I feel they must come up with something not so close to home or it will become too ridiculous, even for a genre show only slightly rooted in realism.
  4. Exactly what I was thinking, this was definitely an old school episode Yep, exactly my thoughts as well; probably the closest thing to an old school MOTW since the revival began. Not much more to say that hasn't already been said.
  5. Even if it was in the preview? Yes. I, for one, don't ever watch the preview because I don't want to know a single thing that's coming in future episodes. I wouldn't be surprised that many people feel the same.
  6. I think that probably happens to most people at some point. I've certainly been there.
  7. Wow, good catch! One of the most rewind worthy episodes ever and I still missed that. This was fantastic; that first explosion I thought "No!....They can't!....If Patterson's gone, I'm out." and I never say that, lol. Thank God for the groundhog day, signaling she was most assuredly safe. I enjoyed every second of it.
  8. Regarding Jessica not recognizing her mom; following the accident we se that her moms injuries include severe burns to the head and face. I assume skin grafts and possibly even facial reconstruction, coupled with Jessica's belief that she's been dead for almost 20 years, would very reasonably cause her not to recognize her mom.
  9. I knew it! I'm not sure how but I freaking knew it, lol! I don't know why but I had a feeling, early on, who the wig woman was going to be. I feel almost clairvoyant this year, lol, from guessing the occasional dialogue response, like when the wig maker was asked if there was anything more to tell and she looked at Trish for more money, I just knew her answer was going to be "No". LMAO. I don't think it's TOO slow, I really enjoy the slow burn style that all the Marvel Netflix shows employ. I'm not sure why but I assume it might be from all the reading I did as a kid; these episodes all play out like chapters to me. I will agree that the shows all seem slower in the first seasons, where we are still getting to know all the characters while trying to figure out where the story is going at the same time. I've found seasons 2 of both DD and JJ, plus Defenders and Punisher, to a lesser extent, feel a bit quicker paced due to the main characters already being well established. However you see it, they are all pretty top notch productions.
  10. Morales? Actually Daryl killed him when Morales was only partway through his monologue - one of the few times I've liked Daryl in ages. Oh, you're right, it was Daryl. Thanks for jogging my memory, lol. It WAS the best thing he's done in ages, but I still contend that bringing back Morales for that was pointless.
  11. You realize, of course, you just guaranteed Heath’s return. HA! Where's the crying with laughter emoji when you need it, lol?! Like I said, if it's significant and he brings something to the party, then I'm on board. If he shows up only to have someone kill him instantly, then why bother?
  12. Oh, come on! He's from a dystopian future where mankind was under the thumb of a dominant alien race and far removed from the atrocities of our not so distant past. They all did what they could just to survive...can he not have a redemptive arc? Also, since you brought up ethnicity, despite the fates of Trip, Andrew, Joey and Robbie, the team is still predominantly POC. Fitz, Simmons and Coulson are white, Mac is black and Yo-Yo Hispanic, while both Daisy and May are Asian; Chloe Bennet was born Chloe Wang, as her father is Chinese. Other than maybe "Buffy", I would argue that Joss Whedon and the Mutant Enemy production company as a whole have a pretty good track record as far as representation goes. AOS is the last show I would be lobbing subtle accusations of racism at.
  13. Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey!...... I haven't seen it yet; spoilers, LOL!!!!
  14. Yep, that was a great little nod, nicely done. I disagree about Yo-Yo, though. I wasn`t expecting that at all and felt genuinely shocked. They're not out of the woods yet, that future "could" still happen.
  15. Alexandria scout with a VW microbus - black guy with dreads - was on a scouting/scavenging run with Tara out east of ASZ toward the coast about the same time Denise took Dwayne’s crossbow bolt through her eye. Heath and Tara were out of the van scouting around when they ran into a bunch of walkers partially buried/camouflaged in a sandpile, and the two got separated in the resulting struggle. Tara got clear, and shortly after made first contact with the Oceanside dwellers; Heath has been MIA ever since. Oh right, Heath! Lol, I vaguely remember him now..... How long ago did that happen? Feels like two seasons but that can`t be right. The sand pile walkers were the most memorable part of that scene; I just assumed Heath was dead. Hopefully he is and it's never addressed...unless he returns with some kind of significance, otherwise it's stupid and pointless. Same as when that guy from season one showed up as part of the saviors just to have Rick shoot him ten seconds later.....completely pointless.
  16. .......................the lord giveth and the lord taketh away.........................................................FUCK
  17. Uh.......Who the hell is Heath? LOL! Seriously. This show really DOES have too many characters.
  18. I had no idea this was even happening. Upon investigation, I also learned that Scot M. Gimple will not be returning as show runner. This could not have made me more happy to hear. Every time I saw him on Talking Dead, acting like he was some sort of creative genius, I wanted to punch him in his smug, gimpy face.
  19. No malicious intent, sorry if it came across that way, I was merely going from my memory. I stand corrected on the count. I never questioned the quality of the songs, they've all been quite good I think, except for Jonah's-on that we can agree. I'm well aware the city has a vast number of venues and I'm sure all manner of business is conducted in them, from artist signings to group formations and all things in between and beyond. My point was that most of the music related scenes in these small venues have felt to me like my own experiences going to open mic jam nights where everybody is a nobody just having fun and the only one doing business is the host. That's just how it feels to me as it's being presented. I'm not saying it's bad, it just leaves me wanting more. I agree we've seen all of the processes, I just feel it's much less so this year than in seasons past. The drama has always been an integral part, as it is in any show, and even the political stuff wasn't a problem for me. It WAS woven in well and was always fairly equally balanced with the musical side but now I feel that balance has shifted in favor of the drama, to the detriment of the show as a whole. It hasn't put me off it by any stretch, I just don't enjoy it the way I used to. You seem to be enjoying it much more than I, at this point, and that's awesome; I wish I could feel the same.
  20. We’re still getting, on average, almost 4 songs per episode, and I haven’t downloaded them all. That’s just this season. So the music’s been there. Not sure how you're figuring that. In 7 episodes so far this season, by my recollection, there's been 2-3 from WAG, 1 from Daphne, 1 from Alannah before joining WAG, 2 pieces of auditory garbage from Jonah(one of which wastes Lennon's talent on a nothing "feature" vocal) and 1-2 from Scarlett's PTSD affected soldier acquaintance. That's 9, at most, and even if I've forgotten a few, that is a far cry from almost 4 songs per episode, which would put us at close to 28 songs in 7 episodes; the extended edition soundtracks for seasons past don't even have that many songs on them....oh, just remembered Juliette's church choir friend did one with Deacon, so that's an even 10. Part of the problem is almost none of these songs are attached to the recording or promotion of an album, in the context of a concert tour performance, or any other aspect of the Nashville music business or the music business in general, which WAS half the premise of the show. Sure, the music's been there, but it's been severely depleted and taken a back seat to all the ridiculous life drama. Now it mostly amounts to no more than me getting together with buddies and going to jam night at the local pub or watching my niece in the high school talent show. I don't know, maybe the past seasons didn't have THAT MUCH more music, maybe it just felt that way because we got to see more of it in the business context; someone was always writing something, in the studio or on tour and most if not all of the drama took place within that bubble. Now it's reversed, the music is confined to a small space inside the giant drama bubble. It's pretty sad, really.
  21. You joke, but I was seriously(.....well, half seriously)wondering if the showrunners are scientologists and pushing a thinly veiled agenda, since they've apparently called out twitter users for complaining about Juliette seeking out and getting the help she needs. ...Uh, WTF?! Yeah, ok. Sure. It's sad...I could have sworn the promos I saw for this season said Juliette was back to her feisty old self. Agree with everything else about the loss of music; we used to get 2-3 new songs per episode, almost. Now these famous artists occasionally only dabble it seems. What a joke....too bad no one's laughing.
  22. 1. Honestly, I'd prefer Scarlett over the stupid cult BS or the Jonah Bieber character - at least they have her doing something new and different for a change. 2. I have to agree. Gunner has never even remotely come across as gay; even his every interaction with Will has never been more than complete acceptance and brotherly love. I don't begrudge any of you your fantasies and fan shipping, but if they have Will and Gunner end up a couple it would more ridiculous and unrealistic than everything else combined this season.
  23. Really? Because I can. They've taken virtually all the Nashville out of this show and replaced it with a pastiche of those two shows minus all the quality and nuance those shows were known for. In spite of their pedigree, or perhaps because of it, this was my greatest fear when they were announced as showrunners.
  24. She could be but she was specifically asked to go to share her message about her sexual abuse. Was she?.........meh. Either way, I'm sure they'd have translators for that sort of thing. Bottom Line, the less they show of it the better.
  25. Oh, I totally agree....that's partly why I said it was stupid, lol!
