  1. I don't even really know what to say about this episode in light of Sophia Bush's tweet regarding the butchered scene. What did JLS do to anger the editors? Knowing that Jay is going to a PTSD support group now is important information about his character and backstory, and to leave that part out is ridiculous. Even before seeing Sophia's tweet, I realized that something was up with that scene - Erin clearly stopped before getting to the door and Jay definitely wanted to say something. Then it cut to him having tears in his eyes and I thought "what did I just miss?" Well... half of a scene, apparently. I did like how Jay would sneak little looks at Erin, but she wasn't having it. That shows he still cares, but she's still angry. Otherwise, Burgess' sister seems like a piece of work. She just moved them in to Burgess' house/apartment without telling her? And the other characters were nearly non-existent this episode except to solve the crime. (A pretty predictable crime this time, but oh well.) I did like Voight at the end. That was a touching scene to end with and the actors were great in just those bit roles.
  2. And what's with Atwater's siblings? Can we get a story with them please? He's a late-20-something year-old single man who works a very demanding job and is the sole guardian to his younger brother and sister - there is so much potential there! I think we've seen a story with them maybe twice, in four seasons? I understand why the writers want a romance/relationship. It draws in more viewers than just a straight up cop drama that has no character development at all. And I'm a "Lindstead" fan, so I personally want to see it. But why is it at the expense of every other character? I think each character should have equal airtime if this really is an ensemble cast. I'm fine with Jason Beghe, Sophia Bush, and Jesse Lee Soffer being the three stars (now that Jon Seda left), but I don't think that's the way the show is/was intended.
  3. I thought this exact same thing as well! I was relieved to see the husband/father in the hospital room holding the baby.
  4. Actually, the little snippet we've been given from Chicago PD shows that Will might have a normal relationship with Papa Halstead - it's Jay who hasn't spoken to him in years. Does anyone know if Anna from Chicago Fire be joining the cast of Med?
  5. I thought the same thing, but I think the firetruck had a head-start and the motorcycle was weaving through traffic on the on ramp. But yeah... this whole episode bugged me. What. Was with. Gabby??? I mean... just... no. She didn't used to bug me, even in the last few seasons when she started to bother everyone else, but why is she involved in every single story? Plus, first she's a paramedic, then she wants to be a doctor, then she's a firefighter, now she's back to a paramedic - but she wants to be a detective? Ugh. Writers, please just stop already. What happened to the first few seasons when Herrmann, Otis, and Cruz had family members and personal stories of their own? And god forbid Capp ever have a line of dialogue; I won't even wish for a story for him, I'd just like to hear him speak. Severide and Zach were the bright spots of this episode for me. The rest was blah.
  6. I didn't realize that the actress is only 33. But still, by 33, someone shouldn't still be so immature.
  7. I just watched season 1 for the first time to get caught up, and it seems to me that Gabby is the one who does the risky procedures because she's the one willing to take the fall if something goes wrong. Maybe it's her small way of protecting her partners - she did it for Shay and now she's doing it for Brett too. Just a thought. I'm halfway through season 2 (which is where I started watching in the first place) and Gabby wanting to be a doctor has only been mentioned maybe 3 times total. She shadowed Hallie for a day, and never did much else.
  8. Sometimes I wonder if famous people shouldn't just come out and set the record straight. I understand that it's no one's business but their own and they need privacy, but at some point making an announcement has to be better than tolerating the internet trolls.
  9. Well, if Derek Haas is telling the truth, he said he stays out of the casts' personal lives. So hopefully the writers write what they want to write. (His tweet has since been deleted because people raged that he answered a personal question in the first place.)
  10. Didn't she date three different people from One Tree Hill though? I just mentioned her ex-husband, but there were others. Again, I never saw the show, but it seems to have not been an issue. Either way, I hope this week's episode at least has some mention of something to continue the story, and doesn't just drop it totally for a few weeks. There needs to be some continuation, even if it's small, like one of them having to explain to Voight. Sounds like the personal story is shifting to Burgess for this week, but they can't forget what they did last week.
  11. This. I didn't mean to say that she was really on desk duty. I think people misunderstood me, sorry. It seems the writers are coming up with minor excuses to keep her out of the "action" though, which makes sense for both filming and the actress's own health. Marina may not be comfortable standing for so long outside in the weather. But I think it's cute that the writers are giving her a break, so to speak, with Voight saying she needs to prove herself, and Al caring about her with it being so cold outside.
  12. I agree; why aren't they just part of the real Emmys? They hardly earn their own separate event anymore.
  13. I missed that, but she has to be older than that, given how far she is in her career.
  14. If they're all as close friends as they appear to be, everyone would just be Aunt or Uncle so-and-so. Uncle Owen. Aunt Arizona. They don't have to be biologically related for a child to use a term of endearment.
  15. I knew exactly what was coming, and I hadn't seen the preview. I don't think they were looking for the shock element for viewers.
  16. Not all biologically though, so it doesn't really matter in the long run. Just because Webber married Catherine and had an affair with Ellis, that doesn't make him Jackson or Meredith's father.
  17. One of my other favorite shows is Outlander, and they include a bunch of deleted scenes on their DVDs. (Then people are nice enough to upload them to YouTube for those of us who don't buy the DVDs.) I agree that all shows should do that!
  18. Thank you. (But I probably still won't remember them. ;-) )
  19. I don't think it will compete against Game of Thrones (that will be over by September I believe), but I do agree with you. It can't compete with football.
  20. Might be nice for that scene to show up on YouTube as a deleted scene then. I like the Erin/Trudy relationship; it's almost as if Trudy is a surrogate mother to Erin, since we all know Bonnie is a piece of work. Rumors abound that they have split up in real life, but there are also plenty of others on social media who say they haven't. So, we may never know. I think I said before in a different thread though, I would hate to think that the actors aren't mature enough to have foreseen this and realized they could continue to work together, or that the writers would allow personal lives to dictate the fictional story. I never watched One Tree Hill, but Sophia Bush worked closely with her ex-husband for years after their relationship ended and the show continued. I also watch for what new and exciting prop will cover the bump! So. Many. File. Folders. I also find it slightly amusing that they are keeping her on desk duty without actually officially keeping her on desk duty.
  21. I agree, Olinsky's scenes were all well done. Even his hug with Ruzek was good too. I thought from the promo photos that Erin and Trudy had a scene in the locker room. I guess not? It was hard to look past the Linstead bombshell in this episode for me, as a Linstead fan. They didn't have to go that route in the first place, and then have Jay walk out when Erin didn't want him to? Weird. But there was plenty of good all around in this episode for every fan. Just... Jay... ugh. Yeah.
  22. Thanks, I must have recognized him from there.
  23. That was actually a pretty excellent episode. But I hated it. Jay's personality just took a 180 turn, eh? Very weird.
  24. I guess Joey may have had one standout day or two, when seen in a vacuum. And he has improved since the beginning. But still, Theo is better on any given day. (Sorry, I don't know all of the actors' real names, so it's easier to refer to the characters.)
  25. The kid who plays Joey is nominated and not the kid who plays Theo? Are they joking? What are they watching?
