  1. Maybe I'm dumb, but I thought contacting PD would be the same as contacting main. It's all one 911 emergency system, so she contacted everyone? Not sure why she and Kylie walked around the block first though... It's not like Sev took Truck for a slurpee run. I'm sure main then took house 51 out of action - they didn't have a Truck or acting officer in charge to respond to anything anyway. No one was sleeping, so why not all go? Isn't it a good thing that they did? They needed Engine's water and the ambo for the injured.
  2. These were also my questions! I watched it again and still barely got answers. They were headed to Indianapolis, and the one guy said it's because emergency vehicles can go anywhere... but after that, crickets. I think the editing wasn't great on this episode; there were some scenes in the trailer that didn't make it to the show. Also, they were all debriefed - I wonder if those scenes were left on the cutting room floor too.
  3. I think Kylie said that you have to be 21 to go to the fire academy. Is Damon brand new? He's probably 23, 24ish. I'm pretty sure Severide is Taylor Kinney's age of 42, turning 43. An old high school girlfriend? People on Twitter think Sev is too young, but the math works out. Obviously a half-brother is also a good bet. Or even Stella's half-brother, maybe?
  4. This would have been the perfect crossover episode. It's really too bad that their budget was cut so much. But I also hear that ratings are up and all 3 shows are popular on Peacock, so maybe that will help for next year. How do you just rip a steering wheel right off? Damn. That was a good episode. I think I'll watch it again though, because I really didn't catch what the bad guys were going to do? Ritter needs to be careful... Jack Damon might have a good name (reminds me of Station 19 where Grey Damon plays Jack Gibson), but he's still super shady.
  5. This seems to be the prevailing theory on social media. I guess Sev is old enough to have a kid in his early 20s... Another theory is that he's a long lost Severide sibling. We already had Katie, why not another one, LOL. Seems like many people are hoping that Stella is pregnant, too. Not sure how that would play out; she gets Severide's dream job at OFI? 🤦‍♀️
  6. I thought of insurance, but I would assume that getting a rider to their already existing policy wouldn't cost much. I'm sure that they already pay huge premiums for their everyday insurance needs. I guess I also assumed that the turnout gear was just someone's leftovers, LOL. This, plus they probably need to figure out how so much information is getting out there to the criminals. Data hacked? A mole? Also, if it's a huge crime ring, why was Joe the first to realize? Ah, well... plot holes...
  7. How much could GOF really cost? Stella and the other firefighters volunteer their time, right? And the equipment is already there at the fire house... Seems like a really low- to no-cost program to me anyway.
  8. This episode was pretty good. I figured we'd just get a rehash of the Louie storyline with Javi, but that was a decent twist. I'd like to know where Baby Otis was, though? If Javi needed after school care, shouldn't Otis? Cruz didn't even take him to the basketball game? It makes no sense when shows introduce kids and then forget that they exist; it's a small pet peeve. Is the new guy even a firefighter? Why is he obsessed with Severide? I mean, I am too, because he's a sexy silver fox, but that's completely unrelated... I don't think I like the new paramedic, either, but I do think of Harry Styles when someone says Harry too. I am, by no means, Gen Z. 🤣
  9. I started watching this show this week and made it to "Fishes" - I came here to see if I was the only one who thought it was unwatchable. I'm glad that I'm not the only one! I stopped halfway through and don't think I even want to finish it. Everyone screaming the same thing at the same time for the entire episode (I assume, even though I stopped halfway) was absolutely unnecessary and ridiculous. As an introvert, I just couldn't handle it. The whole show is a lot, but this episode just went to the extreme. I think I'll read a summary online and move on to the next episode.
  10. Thanks, that makes sense. There should be 4 episodes left and it comes back on May 1.
  11. Isn't that all he's ever done? His character is more of an observer than a talker. Sorry, I understand your point now, but I didn't notice that he was quieter than usual. Maybe he was, it just didn't stick out to me.
  12. I agree, but I respect his privacy and don't mean to speculate. He's starting to look more like his old self as the season goes on, at least in my opinion. No, he doesn't write it, but if he tells TPTB that he's not 100% up to doing the more difficult scenes that require stuntwork, then they'll probably write him less strenuous scenes. I recently came across a video of him explaining that scene a few seasons back where Severide and Casey jumped off the top of the building into the river. Taylor and Jesse did the stunt themselves. He explained that they had one take to do it, and if you look closely, he's laughing at one part in anticipation of running and leaping. I presume that he does most if not all of his own stunts. This is another reason why I'm more hopeful for next season, and will try not to complain too much about this one... It's a rebuilding year, LOL.
  13. I'm still enjoying the show, but this season isn't the best. I blame the writers' strike - only because everyone rushed to get shows back on the air. This happened after the last strike too, and great shows like Friday Night Lights, for example, had a horrible season and barely made it. I'm just giving this season a pass and am happy that it was renewed for next season. I hope the writers are saving their better ideas for next season when there will be more time to flesh them all out. That said, the revolving door of people is annoying. I'm also glad that Stella backed off. Didn't she help him with some investigations in the past? Why doesn't she just do that again, to keep an eye on him if she's so worried. Makes more sense than the nagging... I've been rewatching old seasons, and Stella doesn't bother me for the most part. I think that her purpose is to fill both the Shay and Gabby roles - the Gabby do-gooder who crosses the line "for good reason" but the street-smart Shay who can keep Severide in line. It hasn't always worked, obviously, but she's not nearly as bad as Dawson ever was. Is Carver just.... there? Seems like his only purpose is a pretty face, yet he's somehow become one of the leads?
  14. Maybe I wasn't paying attention enough, but I don't understand what the complaint against Severide was about? He told a fire victim that she could come back to the house and they'd help her? They do that daily. Plus people just show up on their own looking for help as well. If that's all against the rules, then they should get a complaint filed every single episode.
  15. Isn't he the one that wanted to do that to the ambulance?? Could you imagine... He kind of deserved it just for the thought alone. But maybe it's time for a new car.
  16. The current outgoing Chief dismissed the charges. After Boden cornered her, Robinson said that she asked for the complaints to be expedited so that she could read them for herself. Once she saw what the complaints were really about, she dismissed them by saying these things are what she likes about Boden. Robinson's ridiculous threat was that once the current Chief and the interim Chief are gone, there will be no one left to protect Boden. That's why I think he'll be promoted anyway? And, well, she didn't kill him, but the last paramedic Chief did die... Hawkins.
  17. Some scenes in tonight's episode were just... awkward. Anyone else think so or was it just me? Stella and Severide were fine when talking in his office, but their apartment scene seemed a little off. Also, Taylor's arm was not in the same place between the two camera angles and stuff like that bothers me. Otherwise, it was nice to hear that the writers remembered that Kelly was addicted once too, and brought it back up. They are good at forgetting the show's history. Weird that Gibson is gone already. I thought that he was a new season regular. His exit story just came out of nowhere, too. Anyone else think that Boden will be promoted against his wishes? And at least next week they'll fight a fire again! The hazmat calls are boring.
  18. I just rewatched this episode, and I was thinking the same thing! Stella was her maid of honor - why??? Do they even know each other? The desire to show Brettsy and Stellaride walking down the aisle together shouldn't outweigh realism. Where were Chloe's parents? We met them when she was in the hospital. They have said she has a great relationship with them, but she didn't want her dad to walk her down the aisle? OK, maybe that's too traditional, but they should have at least been there... I didn't hate this episode like some others seem to, but the wedding part did have a lot of issues. The look on Severide's face as he was undressing Stella with his eyes during the ceremony was pretty good though.
  19. https://parade.com/tv/is-taylor-kinney-leaving-chicago-fire-again-season-12 Some spoilers in this article for upcoming episodes.
  20. Higher ratings is great. Maybe they'll get some budget back...
  21. I suppose in the show's defense, they have said all along in past seasons that 51 is one of, if not the, busiest houses in the CFD. And they keep saying that Boden has his own way of doing things... So I guess to carry on the theme of attacking 51 is remaining consistent. (Personally, I forgot that they at least threw in those tidbits to try to explain, and have only been picking up on them since I started rewatching from the beginning.)
  22. He looks good all the time, don't get me wrong. 😉 I just forgot that the slightly shorter hair was hot too. I do love me a Silver Fox, for sure...
  23. I was so hoping that Boden would say something like "this again!?" at the end when it seems that the new paramedic chief or new paramedic has it out for the whole house. Seems like we get this plot every season? The patient had a spider in his mouth; they showed it quickly. Yes, it was gross. Severide doing Severide things... he faced armed drug dealers without any weapons and just had a hunch that Squad would show up? Or did he actually know they would? Cruz acted like it was his idea and Sev didn't know, so that was just dumb luck. Figures. Are the new police guys going to be recurring characters? Who cares. If Chicago One already has the Chicago PD people on payroll, just use them. There hasn't been a crossover in years... I guess that's out of the new budget?
  24. I think Season 5 is peak Severide hotness. The buzzcut was working for him.
  25. I'm doing a re-watch, and while I was skipping around seasons, I decided to just start at the beginning and watch the whole way through. In doing so, I find that Gabby is much more annoying than I remember, and Stella is more tolerable. There are also many major plot holes. One big one is that Gabby and Stella met at the academy? But in season 2, it's clear that Gabby and Rebecca are the only 2 women in that academy class. And Stella has more experience than Gabby. So it must be that Stella was Gabby's teacher? None of that is clear. It's fine that Severide's story doesn't match up - he is always over there teaching something, so he could have met her at any time.
