  1. Yes, they didn't sing! They weren't nearly as annoying this week as they were in the first few episodes. No, he's not funny at all (or even very likable). But unfortunately, Will eggs him on. Again, I liked all of these builds. The weakest ones, however were more obvious, unlike the volcanoes last week. The Pink Ladies know that they are outmatched because they said they chose the blocky robots on purpose. I liked Tim and Tim, and I didn't think that theirs was the worst, but it wasn't great. Tough decision this week.
  2. I came to say the same thing. The judges said, "we want a volcano and you're not building a volcano" so they decide to... still not build a volcano? Right. Even if it had worked, they deserved to go home. It not even working just sealed their fate; there was no question. That said, all of the builds were very good this week. I was impressed with all of them, even the ones that didn't work and the one that wasn't a volcano. It was still a decent build... just not fulfilling the assignment.
  3. The entrepreneurs annoy me the most. Their whole business approach isn't funny or entertaining, and they called the kitten a prototype. They beta tested a kitten? No. Did the show check to make sure all of the contestants had no allergies? The kittens were adorable, but I would have been miserable. I've been underwhelmed by the actual Lego building so far. The themes have been fine, I guess, but nothing has truly impressed me like in some previous years.
  4. Also, if they truly aren't comfortable with MOC, I would hope that they wouldn't be on the show - even with money and influence. I bet that they are downplaying their abilities to only seem like underdogs.
  5. Money. I've seen a video of that guy on social media - he has, or at least his goal is to have, one of every Lego set ever made. He has a huge basement full of thousands of Lego sets. He's a collector, and probably influenced his way onto the show. Maybe his friend has MOC talent...
  6. Don't forget that Hope had a heart attack in the first season, too. So a heart attack and a traumatic brain injury all in 5 months... and she's perfectly fine now! If only that happened in real life!!
  7. Sorry, but I don't really understand how this can be a spoiler thread. The books are so vastly different from the show that only some character names are the same. I don't see how much of anything that's happened in the books can or will happen on the show... 🙄🤣
  8. So my guess is that the showrunners have heard a lot of complaints from the book enthusiasts, and they are trying to "fix" some things. In the books: The show is so extremely different from the books that they shouldn't even share a title. But I get the impression that there have been complaints, and on more than just the horrid pacing of the show. ::shrug::
  9. I don't know if it was in this episode or later, but they say it's been 5 months. Hope complains that Mel still owes her 7 months under her year-long contract. The timing on this show is the ABSOLUTE WORST!!! It's my #1 with a * complaint!! Love the scenery! I'll be right there with you.
  10. Chloe's father is Lilly's husband. I can't recall his name, but Buck sounds right. It is not Jack. Buck died recently before Chloe was born, which is one of the reasons why Lilly was so depressed and gave Chloe up.
  11. Thanks for explaining everyone. I went to go watch it last night and was really confused... That's dumb to skip a week and then only air one more episode before the mid-season hiatus.
  12. Thank you! Everyone in the non-book readers thread is extremely confused, myself included. It meant nothing to us.
  13. So Ian just has a kid that he never knew about? And Bree goes through a time portal thingy but doesn't time travel? Or that wasn't a time portal thingy? I feel really stupid, like this episode was really confusing to follow, but I think it wasn't just me, so... Maybe there will be more explanation later, at least about the time portal thingy.
  14. In my field, we've actually done some research and taken surveys on this. It's still happening to this day, and more prevalent than most people realize or care to admit. Women are still being mistaken for the secretary or paralegal all the time... but no, we're the lawyers now.
  15. I quit reading the books halfway through Book 5, but I still visit both threads because I don't care about being spoiled. The tone of the two threads is starting to be vastly different when it comes to viewers' satisfaction. Personally, the show has lost me. It jumped the shark somewhere around season 3/4. Why does everyone have to be in love with Claire? That whole storyline was ridiculous. I figured from the start that the obituary was fake, though I thought it would have been Fergus who got wrong information and published it to honor his adoptive parents. Speaking of Fergus, why have he and his family vanished? He was one of my favorite characters from the time they introduced him as a boy. I feel like both the author and the writers of the show must just get to a point where they can't figure out where to go with a character anymore, so they just write them out and forget about them - and hope the audience will too. Is it sad that I've come to be more interested in the story of Bree and Roger in the 1980s than I am with Jamie and Claire?
  16. I followed the Bree and Roger storyline. My question, just to clarify, was about Jamie and Claire returning to Scotland?
  17. So in the books, do they really go back to Scotland? I thought that they never did... I only read up to half of Book 5, but I thought that I'd read elsewhere that they never made it back and stayed in America.
  18. Claire said that she knows someone who could help them. So somehow they will make it to Boston with no money or modern clothes, and find her friend who will just help with no questions asked. Right? Seems to be this show's MO... And the end where the singer whispers is the absolute worst!!
  19. Phew, I'm glad that I wasn't the only one! I was so confused for longer than I'd care to admit... I also am not nearly as invested in this show as I was in the first few seasons, so I actually forgot how last season ended. I couldn't finish Book 5, and unfortunately the show hasn't been much better, IMO. I still watch it - I guess just because why not? - but I have more complaints than praises lately. I share the complaints about too much Bree and Roger (and not enough Rollo!). I also have no idea why no one is at Fraser's Ridge? I can figure out Claire and Jamie, sure, but Bree and Roger are just wandering about, "ministering" to people? It's not that believable...
  20. I agree with everything that you said, but especially this part. Grogu has been the star/co-star since the first episode. If a viewer doesn't like him, why are they watching?
  21. Would it anger you even more to know that now Boone works for Lego? They hired him after season 1. So he's an insider and never should have come back for the holiday special, IMO.
  22. I don't think he cares, he's always wanted children. People blame Gabby for the Louie storyline, but Casey wanted a kid just as much as she did. Reading about these budget issues and the predictions (or knowledge, not trying to say anyone is wrong) about next season is pretty disappointing. This was the original show for One Chicago, and it's always been the best, IMO. (Except PD was just as good for about 3-4 seasons before it went downhill.) Why don't they just get rid of Med and PD and throw more money at the original? If people have to leave the show, and one is Severide, then Kidd needs to go too. They can say that Severide got an opportunity that he couldn't pass up, and there is an opening for her too so they can leave together for a happily ever after. If they can't afford to get Jesse Spencer back, then Sylvie can go too. At this point, Cruz, Hermann, Gallo, Ritter, Violet, and Carter can carry the show, with Boden and Mouch as support, depending on what happens to him. Maybe Mouch needs to become the new Kylie and be on desk duty. If both Kidd and Sylvie were to leave in my example, however, I'm sure they could get a no-name decent actress to round out more women with Violet for a lot less money than they're paying Kara or Miranda; they could also keep Kylie. I really don't want to watch a show that has Kidd without Severide. Sylvie without Casey was bad enough. (And Upton without Halstead was so much worse... though Halstead without Lindsey was the worst and started that downward spiral... but I digress.) Once they've established the relationships, they are not good at figuring out what to do when they're done.
  23. I really like him in the few things that I've seen him in - I recommend Bodyguard and Rocketman, or the first 2 seasons of Game of Thrones (he has a smaller role in that, but still good). Klondike wasn't bad either, and Eternals is better than the reviews, IMO. I have yet to check out Medici and 1917, but I hear they are pretty good too.
  24. This must have released early? Because I watched both it and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Thursday night... That said, I have no idea what I just watched. Or why. Not that I'm actually confused by the plot, but by how this show got made and aired in the first place. It had huge potential, and then... oh well. At least Richard Madden is still pretty.
