I just love how, not just protective but empathetic Jensen is about his character. The writer/director/showrunner would have him prancing off down to the depths of hell like it's a walk in the park. OK, Jensen, ACTION..so walk down the steps. Wait, why are you hesitating? We're on a time clock here. What? Dean went to hell before? oh and he's re-living the emotion, he's remembering? Ok, good work, ... that's a wrap. Lunch!!!

No more heaven and hell. No more demons and angels. I cant tell the difference anyway and they're all dull as dishwater.

I just want the usual stuff, like motivations I understand and more conversations and less exposition. And can we have a whole season where the boys are not knocked out and tied up (with rope that always looks so loose) while the bad guy tells them his/her life history. And less FBI interview scenes. This is lazy writing style to info dump even the Js must be bored doing this over and over again. Like others - I'd rather enjoy a simple episode... A Day in the Life of Sam and Dean that sort of thing. It would also be cool to see Dean fixing up Baby or trying to order parts (does he get them from Bobby's scrapyard or did it burn?) Some scenes or mention of Dean fixing Baby and how about that garage? Would they take another car for a ride and it's possessed or something? Weird things happen at one of the no-tell motels (did anyone see the movie Vacancy?) that type of thing. Or Dean is hexed or whatever and finds he actually CAN sing and gives a concert before the spell wears off. I can think of a zillion ideas for MOTWs. In terms of the ongoing seasonal arc. Well, get rid of Luci & Son for starters. I have zero interest. Maybe Death returns and he's pissed. Or more of the AU - although that could get complicated and these writers are not good with complicated. Everyone has some great ideas. I just wish the PTB read this site.

I am aghast! I need a cup of tea...

I'm glad you are enjoying the show Jakes. I hate that I feel this jaded and cynical about a show I once loved. I've always defended Supernatural. I've been a rabid fan since 2012. But seasons 11 and 12 were the worst. I blame the uninspired writing with SLs that blast onto the screen and then fizzle and go nowhere.
-
lol I think it would be boring to watch. But that's just me. I'm the one that wants the bunker blown to bits.
-
This is my sense too. Actually I thought it blatantly obvious and one of the reasons season 12 was so bland. The show is in its December, and Dabb has been tasked with finding another hit. Let's face it, Season 12 wasn't even about the Winchesters most of the time. If this ^ is what Dabb has in mind for the spin-off, I hope he doesn't incorporate the idea or it'll be the death of season 13. Remember Buffy and the Potentials season 7?
-
I know that's a joke, but it made me so sad. Valium Dean - an apt description of the watered down Dean we got last season - when he was actually on screen. ::sob:: It's sad enough that angels and demons walk about in business suits. I don't think the word 'organized hunters' belongs anywhere in this series. I hope they don't move in this direction.
-
That old adage 'united we stand, divided we fall' doesn't work for me in this instance. I want the Winchesters free agents, rebels riding the open road, using their own wits - because it's sexy and exciting. Nothing slows action like organization and management. They've always hinted at an underground belly of hunters, kind of sharing - but not too much. So there's that. And that should be all. The scenes of a handful of hunters raiding the BMOL secret headquarters were laugh out loud lame. I don't want more. If this is what the PTB have in mind for season 13, then they're making a mistake (IMO of course). Dean and Sam work alone and unsupervised. Dean would never behave anyway...

At @SueB - I guess when I said 'high note' I kind of meant - happy family who always got along. Crew's been around for eons, actors are best friends, family atmosphere on set...that kind of thing. Unless writers get personality implants and maybe a whiteboard in the writers' room (or even a writers' room) I don't see the series Supernatural going out with much of a bang. Although that final episode will be something
-
I would imagine thousands of actors have had issue with scripts or the journey of their character. And actors lose 'regular' status all the time. Acting is a crap shoot.. no guarantees. You're at the whim of the PTB. But I think we're now in a climate where writers are being held way more accountable, criticized and even winning 'Worst Monster on CW' polls - social media and all that stuff. So MS feels free to vent, I guess. There should be a writers' panel at Creation. (They'd have to check audience pockets for rotten tomatoes, tho)

Misha once made movie - Stonehenge Apocalypse - he's the lead and actually dressed like Dean in the movie. I live in Canada and, honestly, I swear it's on one channel or another at least every couple of months. He must make a fortune from the royalties... lol. But yeah - it's a cool game. The actress portraying Lucifer's mum (a much more interesting Lucifer than the one we've got!) is the same actress from an earlier episode Roadkill.
-
Ty crops up all the time on shows shot in Canada. Sometimes a main character, sometimes a wee small role. It's actually fun making the 'Supernatural' connections. 'Lisa' is the star of the show 'Private Eyes' (I think it's Canadian) and the actress has done tons of TV commercials. The actress playing 'Kelly' is all over the place on Canadian TV. It's good for the ol' memory. I recognize a face and then have to check back which episode he/she was in. The Vancouver acting pool must be fairly small. These actors are used over and over again - small roles, big roles, TV ads, etc.
-
The only thing, tho, is that it's coming across as sour grapes because he was demoted or whatever. I'm hoping he'll do an interview or article or something and maybe explain his position to fans. He's not really handling it well in my opinion. It does look a bit like TPTB chose the other Mark over him for season 13 and he got pissed and said take this job.... Both Marks are good strong actors. I get the impression they both have strong personalities too. Meanwhile the Js enjoy summer in Austin. I think you only have one more season to go, boys....
-
Not a million names, but every once in a while a throwback mention to an old acquaintance or occurrence. Would be nice, I think. There's a 12 year history swept under that carpet. I think this batch of writers write to the casual viewer anyway. I personally would prefer they didn't include so many pop culture references. Seems really cool at the time but really dates and jumps you out while watching early seasons. I can't think of an example right no
-
I don't think the writers realize (or care) how much this would mean to fans. It's probably too much bother for them to check back to earlier characters/events.
-
I think Misha and Vickie are expecting another baby. Maybe they want to keep it quiet. That's my thought anyway.

SPN Eye Candy: Drooling Over The Actors And Characters
Pondlass1 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Supernatural
These two attractive tall handsome guys oozing animal sexuality and manly mettle, outfitted in perfectly tailored suits the cloth of which strains against hard muscle - stroll into a room/hospital/whatever and flash their FBI ........ and no one reacts? (or faints). It gets me every time. No one ever comments... not ever. Not once (unless they're drooling cougars). It's just not realistic. ? -
I'm guessing the main reason is that the actor playing the role is not in every episode so how to explain their absence for bunker scenes. But this could easily be managed with writing. Same thing as 'have you heard from mom/Cas/whoever?' Just have Sam or Dean remark as if they've just left the room of the character or he/she's still sleeping or whatever. The bunker (despite it's revolving front door) is presented as a safe haven and apparently has many bedrooms (although I personally couldn't sleep in a windowless room) The boys often send vulnerable people off into the world - we see them leaving on a bus, taxi or whatever. Sometimes they dump them at hospitals.
-
Hopefully ... subtle, horrific and splendid. With not one parallel or anvil to be found anywhere. Is this actor any good, I wonder?
-
I think you'll be walking. Andrew seems to prefer exposition heavy rather than dialogue driven. It's TELL rather than SHOW. I've had no clue how people feel about each other or their motivations all season. The writers are back in court as we speak. I'm hoping they have some awareness of where they went wrong last season. Lots of disappointing reviews our there, even Alice - I think she's even done with the show. I tweeted her article links to Andrew several times as I felt she made good points.

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
Pondlass1 replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
Yeah, it's Dean on a weekend bender. Dean being a demon should have been tragic - not a joke. It could've been must see TV. That chase through the red-lit bunker with a hammer ........ EPIC!! Dean still having remnants of demon in him is enticing for me. I think at this late stage the PTB could take a chance and stop being so safe and predictable and cartoonish. Ratings have dropped and the show moved to 8pm is the result. -
Well, what struck me about that tweet was the fact that JM at that time didn't seem aware of MS's fury. He was just doing the usual lip service to fans because he was without a clue. (He is in charge of budget, I think??). Mark soon put him to rights.
-
Bottom line - MS is pissed and won't be back. Will he actually attend the Phoenix Convention? If he does, well... for one thing, I think he'll get a standing ovation. And then a barrage of questions unless asking is verboten. I'll miss him drumming with Louden Swain. Both Marks are accomplished versatile actors, but they got rid of the wrong Mark and the wrong character in this instance. Crowley's just more entertaining. And now there's this other Lucifer on another network who's killing it... It's like Lucifer overload. Anyway, let's hope the adventures of Luci & Son works and the series is somehow rejuvenated.
