I have to admit - I wouldn't swim in that river either. And I wouldn't have walked so breezily into that toilet either - that surprised me. Hope she doesn't take up with Paul. She's pretty and healthy and has good parents. He's not worthy IMO.

Maybe they need to shake up the format next year. Maybe the person who wins power of veto is the one to chose who replaces on the block. That could end the stupid backdooring couldn't it? Also more unexpected double evictions sprinkled throughout the season. Anything to upset any dominant leader such as Paul's plans.
-
Me neither. But I'm getting the impression he's starting to catch onto Paul. If he sat down quietly and alone and pondered for a few days I think he might actually figure it out. This is my dilemma also. I think the network's aim is to have the audience root for someone to make it exciting television. They've failed miserably this season. This year's bunch is worse than unlikable, they're stupid and boring and sheep. Every flipping vote to evict has been unanimous. Give the winnings to Houston and declare a mistrial (or whatever). **Off Topic - Does anyone know what that dreadful black tattoo on the front of Paul is supposed to be?
-
I do wonder how much we're being manipulated by production and editing. I guess they have to pull in ratings, but Paul's germophobic antics were over the top. Someone that nuts about germs would never travel to the Amazon of all places. But it's all so entertaining to watch.

Mark has been appearing at Supernatural conventions and explaining his reasons. I do get the impression Mark can be difficult. But I don't get the impression he had a falling out with anyone involved with the show. He's explained it several times.... stick a fork in Crowley - he's done. Mark's a respected actor, he'll never play lead... but he'll always get roles. I thank him for giving us the very entertaining Crowley. I just wish the King of Hell had been provided a more lavish and impressive exit scene worthy of his status.

Jensen can pretty much play anything, but he's wasted with this bumbling comic relief stuff they're giving us lately. I'm pretty sure it's Jensen fooling about and they're editing it in (falling over fence, breaking stuff, etc.) Dean is a street hardened hunter and hero, network folks! Jensen can play cold, man. That look he gives Crowley before shoving him to the ground. Whoa - I wouldn't want him looking at me like that. He can play bat crazy too. 'American Psycho' a great film (IMO) give something like that to Jensen and he'd have a field day. But I have a funny feeling Jensen's next project will be a war-type series with him in military uniform. It really stood out that we hadn't seen this Dean for a while, didn't it? Want BAMF Dean back, please. Great synopsis of episode six's ... thanks, @ILoveReading :)

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
Pondlass1 replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
This is the main reason I continue to watch Supernatural. The Winchester brothers don't fit any standard lead good/bad category (like most network heroes). They're mostly screwed up to hell, but they'll still save the day. Still, no one could save the directionless mess that was season 12. Fingers crossed our Winchesters return for season 13... I'd forgive the anvils and parallels if we could have our Winchesters back - - you know...the ones that are canny and nimble and can win a fight. Like back in the day. -
I can't see the gag reel.. says it's been removed. But I'm sure it will be up on YouTube soon. I've got all seasons DVDs, but I'm not buying season 12 unless I see it really cheap. It was the worst for me, way more so than season 7. I have all episodes recorded. I'll started deleting to make room and just keep the few that I actually enjoyed. I'm sure everyone has noticed the Js are talking more and more seriously about the end of the series. It's on the horizon. It's been an impressive run. Will it go into the Guinness Book of Records??? Hope so.

I was in bits when Sam died and Dean delivered that tearful speech over his body. BITS!! Snot and tears all over the place, literally sobbing out loud. And I'm British!! Stiff upper lip and all that. But now it's kind of ....'Whatever' . Not really the writers' fault, I guess. After 13 years when everyone's died and resurrected a dozen times... YOLO is kind of a running joke.
-
We all see things differently. It's what makes the world go around after all. And,yes, life would be pretty ho hum if we all agreed But I don't get that exciting tight stressed feeling in my chest anymore now. Maybe the show has been going too long? They'll be resurrected and celestially healed. Amara went nowhere... the BMOL were just a Micky Mouse outfit, all mouth and trousers. But there are many supernaturally themed series coming down the pipeline and they'll be pushing the envelope. Still, they don't have the iconic and forever fascinating Sam and Dean Winchester ( babysitting this season, but still badass....... I hope)

Me neither. The editing this season sucks.

S02.E03: The "Perfect" Scientology Family
Pondlass1 replied to a topic in Leah Remini: Scientology And The Aftermath
My heart does go out to these folks, but I have to agree with you somewhat. It's not fresh like the first season. I believe their heartfelt stories, of course.... but they're coming across as rehearsed. I blame the success of the show. It's now got to be more slick, I guess. Off topic - The show "Love it or List it" was being filmed in a street near me. I stood by to watch filming. The buyer said his bit over &over again. The producer would say things like 'can you put more emphasis on this or that...' and the person (who was an actual buyer, of course, not an actor) would say his spiel again. I can never watch that show now because I know it's more or less scripted. -
Some great reads, folks. Thanks. In a nutshell for me I think they (the network, the writers, The Powers That Be, etc) have gradually shifted what started out as a dark, gritty, tragic story into a more lightweight non-stressful trip thru the tulips featuring stereotypes and caricatures. Being a hunter is nothing these days. In fact, everyone wants to be one. (I even think there's an ap!) Thank goodness for super talented actors who know their characters inside and out and a super loyal fan base. It's certainly not the writing that's driving this success story. Not any more.

They all (except Paul, of course) need to be individually taken to the DR and have the rules of the game explained to them again. It's all about lies, backstabbing and treachery people! Why do they get so huffy? All Jason had to say was 'it's a game, folks, it's why people watch'. (I'm guessing Julie somehow lost her favourite sleeves and they were found in the BB toilet or garbage during veto search.)

Apologies. I've edited my post so as not to insult anyone. I know it's no excuse, but this episode (along with Bloodlines, Bitten and Sam's Purge speech) bring out the worst in me.

S09.E22: Reunion Part 3
Pondlass1 replied to OnceSane's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I often wonder about the other people in the restaurant when they're having a falling out and dropping F bombs. I guess it's explained to them and they must see the cameras. But no one in background stares. I was in a restaurant once and two couples got loud and angry with each other and everyone stopped eating and watched in fascinated horror. -

Don't these women check out how they look in those low cut dresses when sitting down? I enjoyed this New York season. I've stopped watching Orange County. Not a glimmer of entertainment there. -

Yes, I guess that's true when you think about it. -

That Ron Hubbard guy had terrible teeth. ugh! No dentists in scientology? I really don't get what was so special about him or his ideas? Also, although the interviews are heart wrenching, everyone seems to have done well for themselves after leaving the cult. Nice and expensive homes. I hope the cult is recognized as a cult and required to pay all due taxes immediately on funds collected from the purchase of books and property. That will shut them down faster than anything. Maybe the money could be directed to helping Houston in the coming years. Then, at least, scientology would have actually done some good. -
I cannot think of anyone that can win against Paul in the final two? So long as they keep him in the running, none of them stand a chance. Thank goodness I didn't bother watching the veto game - that house is disgusting. I'd WANT to be voted out before I caught something nasty. Ugh!

Wow - what a surprise to read all these glowing comments. I absolutely LOATHED this episode. I spent most of the time squirming with embarrassment for everyone involved, in fact I never made it all the way through. I honestly thought the episode would be the laughing stock of the internet next day. Prissy stuckup schoolgirls put on a show for their parents based on paperbacks with Fabio on the cover. Oh yeah - like that's gonna happen. And the dreadful wailing and Sam and Dean so OTT and so ok with it. But I guess we all want different things. Everyone's entitled to their opinions.

I know right?! Sorry to keep bringing up Survivor but those guys are starved, filthy, sleep deprived and they FIGHT to win those endurance contests. They often go on for hours. I've never watched BB on a regular basis except for this year and last - but I do remember a contest from years ago where the HGs were in like this glass enclosure and could not take their hand from the handle and the space was filled with the stench of rotting fish and flies. It was gruesome, but they hung on. We also never hear much about the 'have nots' this season? I don't even know who they are each week??? I guess I want some suffering for the prize.

SPN Eye Candy: Drooling Over The Actors And Characters
Pondlass1 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Supernatural
There's probably a lot less fooling about on set. It must be a difficult and worrying time for them. The hurricane is gaining strength and will hit again apparently. And, yes, it's so wrong - but he's so beautiful. I watched several times before taking in his words. -
Do they bring their own cosmetic, etc., supplies with them? Because waterproof mascara is available everywhere and works brilliantly (it just flakes off). But maybe the network supplies the non waterproof stuff and particularly WANTS mascara running down certain cheeks for effect?
-
That's the thing... no one appears to be planning or thinking for themselves. I expect them all to be in the corner standing on their heads soon. Because if Paul ordered it, they would do it. I'm not holding out much hope - but maybe Josh's childish mind clears for a second and he has another flash of reality. And I agree with @ghoulina that it was fun to see the quirky side of HGs in the house instead of constant 'whispering' game talk and yelling at us from the DR. They should edit more of that stupid slice of life stuff in.
