I'm still predicting a Castiel death this season! I'm just bitter that they've sidelined him for the second half of his final season! And yes only featuring in three out of eleven episodes and only in a minor capacity for one of those is sidelining IMO.

Does Jody count as a hunter? I'm fond of her and I don't intend the question to be an insulting one, but as far as I can recall she has only ever stumbled on hunts in her sheriff duties. I don't think she has ever actually 'hunted' something just stumbled on it and even then she normally calls in the brothers to deal with it. Is there an incident of her actively hunting that I've forgotten?

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, I pray to Guck this is true and there is no misdirection! I really would love it if we could have a season without any major Cas/Cas' vessel vs the boys drama!

Sorry that part of my comment was in reference to the Jensen fans commenting on the e!online site! Several of whom are making it sound as though anyone who voted for Misha committed a grievous crime against Jensen. And yeah I didn't see any of that other stuff you mentioned. I took a longish break from watching the show / the fandom between late 2013 and last summer. Well, I started watching the show again last summer I only really got back into fandom earlier this year.

Well to be fair I did say almost put me off ;). I wouldn't actually hate an actor because some of their fans are horrid, but yeah I find their behaviour very off putting. It is perfectly possible to display disappointment in a result and remain graceful. Insulting the competition is not that. And to be honest I find it hard to feel that much sympathy for them because a ) Misha isn't going to win. It's obvious Sam will and b) Even if Misha did win, how does that harm Jensen? The man has won the competition six times already. Misha hasn't even won it once.

I am guessing the same as you about the new comer and old favourite :) . I just took the new stories bit to mean the finale could include a cliff hanger that will flow over into next year (for example Mary's return at the end of last season), or it'll feature scenes including new characters / plot point that'll be important to season thirteen ( e.g. Lady Toni's scenes last year introducing the British Man of Letters). I don't think they'd use the season finale as a introduction to a spin off.
-
Ooh the brothers taking on a leading role as generals actually sounds like it could be quite interesting to me! I also hope this storyline leads to the introduction of recurring hunters for season 13 and beyond!
-
I don't know the final result and I think these comments were made before it so it mightn't have mattered in the end. However, based on the comment section Jensen fans are coming across asthe most entitled and really (potential?) sore losers. I can't seem to find a single complaint from the fans of the other three set to be knocked out! It's only his fans crying out "cheating" or deriding the competition (in this instance Misha). Sometimes fan of an actor almost put me off the actor themselves *sigh*

I'm possibly the only supernatural fan who is not in love with this episode! I find it too generic bank hostage situation for my tastes! I wouldn't say it's a terrible episode it's just not a special one for me.

Honestly, IMO people take that aspect of Sam's words too seriously. Sam was angry, he was hurt and he lashed out, as people tend to do during emotionally charged moments. As far as I'm concerned it is no different than Dean telling Sam he wishes he was dead after the death of Charlie. And just to be clear, even though I'm more of a Sam fan boy, I don't condemn Dean for what he said after Charlie's death. I view it as a heat of the moment comment he didn't really mean just as I don't think Sam meant he thinks absolutely everything Dean does is selfish.
-
If I remember correctly, Dean was possessed by the Khan Worm during season six. I don't believe he has ever been possessed by a demon or angel though.
-
Oh I agree, but that's why I specified that it was season nine Dean I would like his season two counterpart to have a chat with ;) . Unlike the scene you quote during season nine Dean refused to admit to Sam his actions were anything less than noble. I mean compare the scene you quote to Unlike season 2 / 3 where Dean displays self-awareness about the more selfish aspects of his actions. In season 9 he has regressed to seeing it in black and white and holds the narrative he's the righteous brother who selflessly saved Sam so they can fight the good fight together. This shown in the utter confusion he displays when Sam calls him out on doing it for himself.

I've also seen some speculation that the golden eyes will belong to Michael. I think we are supposed to perceive Golden as different to yellow in the same way Lucifer's red eyes are different to the red eyes of a Crossroads Demon.
-
I rewatched Crossroad Blues today (it's always been one of my favourites) and the following scene really stood out to me Too bad Season Two Dean wasn't around to have a quiet chat with his season nine counterpart. At least he was able to acknowledge that deals to save a loved one arent selfless, and they are just as much about the one making the deal as the one being saved. Funnily enough, Dean here is acting very much like Sam during his speech at the end of The Purge. In both cases someone who made a deal to save a loved one is being called out, in a rather hostile manner, on the selfish aspect of the act.

In regards to the role of Singer and Kripke! I recently watched the special for the season one DVD/Blu Ray (an interesting watch for anyone who owns them) and there is discussion on how the show came to be. What I gathered was that for Kripke the big draw was writing a horror show that focused on the urban myths of America. It was writing myths and exploring the horror genre that appealed to him! Originally the show was going to be led by an investigation journalist and it was the network telling him to return with a new idea that led to Sam and Dean being the leads. He was also very big into seeing Sam as Luke Skywalker and Dean as Han Solo. The biggest contribution of Singer (and Kim Manners also) to the show was shifting that focus from the urban myths end of things to stressing that it needed to be "a show about two brothers". It was Singer and Manners who led to the show becoming very much about family, the brothers journey, and shifting everything around so that it served that story! I think Singer and Kripke worked well together because Singer brought the characters heart to the show while Kripke bought the plotting end of things. I think since then there Singer and Kripke's successors have not complemented each other in the same manner.

It's no problem at all! Sorry if my posting style confused you. For future reference I generally post in this type of format. Anything I put here is a direct response to the comment made by a user in quote one!! Anything I put here is a direct response to the user I've quoted in quote two. And so on. I usually use the quotes as markers to indicate I've stopped discussing one thing and moved on to the next lol. So for example in that post my first paragraph where I was talking about the Levitian and the sudden of demons was directed at you. Then I quoted Catrox14 and the rest of the post was directed at her. Although of course, as always, other users are more than welcome to comment on what I've said to her. Id be happy to discuss / clarify things further in PM if you'd like. I don't want to veer off topic for too long by discussing this for too long in here :)
