  1. I hope not. The show has been so much better with just the four main performers. I think it's great that we are still getting new episodes. If this is quality of the outtakes they have, I would be totally okay with them using this material to make new episodes instead of the "celebrity guests."
  2. Kids who are the same age can look drastically different in terms of maturity. Also, girls mature sooner/earlier than boys, so even if they were the same age, Missy might very well look a little bit older. To me, the core of the show is Sheldon and his family. Once he leaves home, the show doesn't work anymore. They could try to keep it going, but 6 or 7 seasons is a pretty good run these days. I think it would make the most sense to end it when Sheldon leaves home, and do a final voiceover narration explaining what happens to everyone. I like your explanation.
  3. At some point George changed. We know he had affairs. My guess is that George started to become a worse person later in life. If memory serves correct, it sounded like Sheldon caught George when Sheldon was no longer living at home. What if the series ends when Sheldon leaves home, and all of the bad stuff happens after Sheldon leaves home? It's one way to reconcile the timeline.
  4. No, because I do not remember seeing him taking pain medication in the first two episodes of this season, unless I missed something. I am curious to see where the story with the journalist goes.
  5. If it's a super fancy high-end place, maybe. A bar like Adam's would probably be closer to $4 or $5.
  6. You are correct. It was not about the Bapist chuch specfically. After the Reverand's son died in a car crash coming back from something, the town, with the Reverand's approval, passed laws banning all sorts of things. Dirty Dancing could go either way. The movie came out in the late 1980s, not too long after Footloose, so if one was shown on TV, than the other probably was too. I could see it being in Mary's box because Patrick Swazye. I could also see it in George's box to provide insight into women, and studying it for dance moves to impress the ladies.
  7. What am I picturing is two intellectuals each trying to one-up the other. Sheldon: Have you read the latest article in ______? I like the idea of Sheldon finding someone to challenge intellectually in one of the last places he expected and by someone he least expected to do it. I agree with you. More scenes of George being a good father to Sheldon please.
  8. I think Mary's problem goes beyond not being able to be tough with Sheldon. Mary does not realize or does not care that Sheldon will some day have to live in the real world as an adult. Obviously he's just a kid now and that is years to decades in the future. George realizes on some level that eventually Sheldon will be an adult on his own. George helping Sheldon with social skills was great. George and Sheldon plotlines are fun. I love Footloose too. I loved the scene were Ren teaches Willard to dance. In 6th or 7th grade, one of the things I wanted most in the world was for Ren to lead me around with a walkman and teach me how to dance. I do wonder what other movies are in Georgie's box. Georgie had good point about driving Missy away. I don't think Mary should say yes to every little thing Missy wants, but a middle school dance seems pretty safe and harmless. I did not recognize him at all either. Not even a "I know I recongize him, but I can't quite place him," He's come along way from the young executive in NewsRadio wearing the big boxy suits that were so fashionable in the 1990s but made him look like a kid wearing his father's suits. I was hoping it would go that direction too. I thought it would be great for Sheldon to be proving wrong about a snap judgement about someone. Sheldon goes to the dinner thinking the potential donor is someone intelectually beneath him, but ends up discovering the man is up to date on all the latest theories, developments, and is someone Sheldon can have a serious in-depth conversation with about advanced topics in physics.
  9. Overall, I really enjoyed the episode. It was fun to see Bonnie get creative with mocktails. Trevor and Jill were sweet together, even if it will never evolve into something romantic. There is something in this episode that confuses me that I'm hoping smeone can explain. Why were the mocktails an issue for Bonnie at the end of the episode? As long as she is not drinking alcohol or tempted to drink alcohol what is the problem? It didn't seem like she was planning to drink anything stronger than the mocktail. Thanks to anyone who can help.
  10. I feel sorriest for Wendy's character. Jill had multiple storylines that played over that multiple episodes or almost an entire seasons. Wendy maybe a got a subplot in a few episodes. Wendy was by far and away the most underdeveloped character on the show. That being said, I do want all of the characters to end the series happy with a positive future ahead of them.
  11. I'm waiting to see if Sheldon will stumble across a sci-fi/fantasy club and want to be involved. I'm sure there are probably Star Trek fans or people who play Dungeons and Dragons at the college. I think that could be an interesting episode or story-arc.
  12. Hopefully someone will be able to fill in more details. George left his previous coaching job because he refused to cheat and blew the whistle on those that did. He did the right thing, but was more or less punished for it. He never fit in with his peers, so I'm not sure what was to be gained by keeping him with people his own age. He was miserable with children his own age. The school Paige goes to might have been an option, but the family can't afford it and there was never a question of trying to get a scholarship. In the small Texas town they live in, academic extracurriculars do not appear to exist at the high school level. Sheldon's problem is that he is going to miserable because he does not fit in socially/emotionally, or because he does not fit in academically. Something interesting I realized in this episode. Missy did not seem to think that there was something really wrong with Sheldon. When it's serious, Missy tends to show concern for her brother. She seems to have a real sense of when something is actually wrong, and when it's just Sheldon being Sheldon.
  13. Sheldon is in a no-win situation. Intellectually, he is capable of doing college level work. George was right to let him advance, because academically Sheldon was done with high-school. Socially and emotionally, he is no where near ready for college. He is going to have problems no matter where he is, the question is are the source of the problems going to be social/emotional or a lack of intellectual/educational challange.
  14. I completely agree with this. You tend it see it more through Brenda and Mary's conversations. It makes so much sense that Billy would be willing to pose for Sheldon, because Billy wants social interaction and wants to be included. I would have guessed because there isn't time for every character to have a subplot or a major role in every episode. This would be an excellent reason as well. I loved Mee-Maw and the chicken. It reminded me of something Penny might do. (I'm hoping we allowed to mention characters that exist in Big Bang Theory, especially since this isn't a plot point or an event that has not yet happened) I thought Georgie had already quit the team, so I was confused. Overall, I really enjoyed this episode.
  15. If Marjorie didn't need the money, I was sure they would have Tammy move in with Bonnie. Tammy and Adam are fantastic together. I laughed when the lamp burned, and when stuff fell off the table. Overall, I thought this was a good episode.
  16. I will be more than happy to edit the post title, but I have no idea how to do that. If you could give them the directions or a link to them, I can make the change.
  17. Earlier on Friday, I watched the 1980s version of Magnum PI, so I was noticing how much older Tom Selleck seemed now, but I figured it was just because I had just seen him as a young man, and people age over a 40 year time span. If anyone is a fan of Magnum PI, I highly reccomend watching an episode of that series and then watching an episode of Blue Bloods. I agree. That part didn't make sense to me. Why wouldn't she be able to say he was arrested? Would she be able to get a copy of the arrest report or some type of document in the public record that she could read from during the podcast, and then post a link to on her podcast's website/social media page? There was a resolution to the case, so she should be able to talk about that on her podcast.
  18. Brady Bunch was technically the attic, but it's absolutely the same principle. I never watched Modern Family, so I can't comment on that one. I said apartment over the garage but clearly it needs to be expanded to, "the extra bedroom/apartment in the house that magically appears in a later season." This is the exact reason Mary and Brenda are friends. They are both going raising children who have some strong similarities, even though on the surface and at first glance it appears that the two boys are completely different. The question both mothers are dealing with is "how do you raise a child who is very clearly far outside the range of normal in terms of academic and social development." The moment they realized that, is the moment they started to become friends, because no one else even remotely understands what they are dealing with/going through. This is slightly off topic and at the same time related to this episode. Missy mentioned an 8th grade boy talking to her, so how long before she starts to go on actual dates? She's had crushes, but I don't think she's had a first date yet, and I know 6th grade seems a little young to start dating, but it's going to happen sooner or later. Who is going to have a harder time dealing with her first date: Mary or George?
  19. Maybe they will find the magical bedroom over the garage that exists in so many sitcoms in a later season: Happy Days, Growing Pains, Sister Sister, and others.
  20. My guess is that is a general education/intro type class that is filling a humanities requirement. I have wondered this as well, but I can't picture Georgie and Sheldon sharing a room working out well at all for any length of time. Overall, I liked this episode. Mary doesn't care about how popular Missy is. She wants her daughter to be a good person. That being said, there's no reason her daughter can't be a good person and prom queen. I like that Mary Brenda have become friends. Relationships change overtime, and I think once they realized they had more in common than they realized, that was a major turning point. Missy was fantastic in this episode. The new more mature hairstyle makes her look more like Mary. I'm torn between wanting to see Missy interact with her friends/classmates on screen (at home or at school), and having them all be off screen characters that we only hear about.
  21. It also explains Tobin's frat behavior. He learned to make people laugh with him before they could laugh at him. It was easier to appear to be in on the joke instead of fighting the joke. It's a "laugh and the world laughs with you" mentality. Being one of the guys as much as possible and being the class clown was his way of fitting in and finding acceptance. I think this gets to the core of the show. Zoey's people skills need a little bit of work and is not great at the emotional side of relationships or people's feelings. Without her powers, she would not know that something is wrong with someone. With her powers, she at least knows that something is wrong, but she still often struggles and has no idea how to fix it.
  22. Nice to know other people saw what I thought I saw as well. Maybe it's something trendy? I have no idea what is currently happening in fashion. I agree. Race was an issue, but the larger issue is that Zoey does not have great people/relationship skills and does not have a great deal of emotional intelligence. It's a bad situation for someone in management to start with, and adding a racial issue on top of that makes a bad and difficult situation so much worse. Does anyone understand the organizational structure of SPRQ Point? I have no idea why Simon directly reports to Zoey.
  23. I always hate it when they go right from getting the case to the trial. I miss the scenes of, "here's the kind of people we want on the jury." Without it, the show is pretty much a generic courtroom drama. Also, I have no problem with different series making different decisions about masks on camera or not. I wish Bull would be consistent, because I cannot figure out why they are wearing masks in some scenes, and not in others.
  24. I liked The Warner Siblings, as well as Pinky and the Brain. I did not like any of the new segments they tried to introduce. If this gets another season, I hope they bring back more of the original characters.
  25. In the episode, the word "woke" was used in a negative context. At first, Jamie thought the program was a bad idea. It seems like Jamie thought it was just a public relations stunt. Jamie is a bit like his father in that he thinks of the big picture. Both are also practical and results driven-will this be good for the department, the people in the department, and the people who live and work in the city overall? This question is not meant to start an argument. I am not trying to attack you, but understand your point of your view. What makes you say the show is getting too "woke?" I don't see it. Just because I don't see it, doesn't mean there isn't something that you are picking up on that I missed. I agree with you that you can't force someone to stay in a job they don't want, but I also don't think it's right to act like a second semester senior because you have a new job lined up. The captain still had responsibilities and a job to do in New York City. The problem wasn't that captain was moving to the suburbs and had a new job lined up with the suburban police department. The problem was that the captain was still a New York City police captain and was no longer doing his job.
