  1. My guess is that they realized with fewer episodes in the season, fewer extras as well as fewer guest cast members, they suddenly had more room in the budget and they spent it licensing a bunch of classic rock songs. It's the only thing I can think of that makes sense. This episode of Bull reminded of the Mad Men episode "The Crash." It had the same druglike feel to it. Cristopher Jackson is fantastic at lip-synching. It's strange seeing Michael Weatherly go from It Takes a Thief era Robert Wagner to Hart to Hart era Robert Wagner. Michael Weatherly is getting older, and yet still manages to look almost exactly like Robert Wagner even as he ages.
  2. Even if her school is full of Christian conservatives, I could see them doing an assembly where all the girls go the gym or some other room to learn about periods and how to deal with them. I could also see Mee-Maw telling her, especially if she thought Mary wouldn't. You are correct that is what happened. However, I thought the museum already existed, and they were advertising an opening for a new docent. One of the things I love about this show is the way you never know which characters are going to be thrown together in a subplot. Mary and Georgie are wonderful together. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it's great. I'd love to see Sheldon watch MacGyver with George.
  3. It is a Little League team not a school team. It is also during the summer, so there is not the concern of school or homework, so driving three hours for a game on a weekend seems possible. I never did Little League or travel teams so maybe someone who knows more about them can provide a better/more complete answer.
  4. I really liked Jill's subplot with the charity. It shows that the other women of the group are having a positive impact on her. I wonder if Tammy will spend time volunteering at the charity for girls. Marjorie's boyfriend was a total jerk, and the fact that he was in recovery does not change the fact that he was a total jerk. I hope eventually Marjorie realizes how awful he is and dumps him.
  5. I'm pretty sure he'll meet other Star Trek fans; it's just my own personal fan theory but it seems possible.
  6. Maybe it was just for family. One of my Missy's friends may have held a party, so Missy didn't feel the need to hold one as well, because she was already given the opportunity to celebrate with friends.
  7. I loved Paige and would it would be wonderful to see her come back this season. I agree that she's a great match for Sheldon. I also enjoy that Paige can talk super smart science genuis stuff with Sheldon, but also have more "normal/typical" kid conversations with Missy.
  8. I have nothing against Anna Faris. She's a great actress. I agree with you; it's a shame what happened to her character. They stopped giving her good material to work with, and that's the writers' fault. Anna Faris could only work with what she was given, and if the material/writing is bad, she can't do that much with bad material. It started off as the Bonnie and Christie show, and it was great. Somewhere along the line they completely sidelined Christie and stopped giving the character good material. Instead, the other members of the ensemble got much better material to work with.
  9. The idea wasn't totally ridiculous, just the way that did. My guess was that it would be law school scholarship to a state school. California has some excellent public universities, and it's a large enough state so that she could too far away from home to come back on a regular basis. I was wrong, but I think my version is slightly more realistic. But, as other people have pointed out, sitcoms are not known for being realistic. I didn't miss Christie at all. I enjoyed the episode and the way it bounced between silly and serious. I hope we get more with Wendy this season. I also want to see more of Andy and Jill as a couple.
  10. I would love to see Missy at school. We already know what kind of person Georgie is at school, because we've seen it. We have never seen what Missy is like with her friends from school, so that would be fun to explore. I would be okay with not seeing Tam anymore or seeing much less of him. I would love more Amy in the narration, even if it's just a correction or an admonishment two or three times a season. The relationship between Missy and Sheldon is wonderful. As much as they don't understand each other, they do love and care for each other.
  11. I am sorry his show was cancelled, but Andy was a great character and I would love to see more of him.
  12. I have an idea that would solve the problem. You do not cut a single scence. You cut a few minutes here and there, especially the scenes of them walking or looking around.
  13. I want to see Jamie in stories that do not involve Eddie. It would be great to see him dealing with interpersonal issues among other the people in his precinct, or dealing with the NYPD bureaucracy.
  14. I came up with another idea for the new Animaniacs. Wakko, Yakko, or Dot as a contestant on a Bachelor/Bachelorette type dating show.
  15. I know it is wrong to judge a series before it airs, but I am dissapointed about some of the aspects of the new CNN series on First Ladies. It's hard to believe that Nancy Reagan is the only Post World War II Republican First Lady interesting enough to be the subject of an episode. There are six episodes, and she is the only Republican First Lady. (There are episodes on Michelle Obama, Jackie Kennedy, Nancy Reagan, Eleanor Roosevelt, Lady Bird Johnson, and Hillary Rodham Clinton). I think going with the old A&E Biography approach is kind of a boring way to approach the topic. If CNN insisted on this approach, I would have swapped out Lady Bird Johnson for Betty Ford. If I had been in charge, I would have done the 6 episodes thematically. This would allow them to include a larger number of First Ladies. Each episode would deal with a different topic. Here are some ideas: 1. Wives and Mothers (The First Lady as wife and mother) 2. Diplomats (How First Ladies used thier role to help further international relations) 3. Issues and Activism (the different causes First Ladies chose to support) 4. Personal Challenges (things in thier personal life they had to overcome/deal with) 5. The Media (How the First Ladies dealt with/handled/interacted with the media) 6. Post-Presidency (What they did after thier husband left office)
  16. I will be happy with almost anything they do, having loved the original version on KidsWB. It was a big part of my Saturday morning growing up. Here is some of what I hope to see in the new version: Brain trying to use social media to take over the world. Wakko, Yakko, and Dot getting kicked out of a collab house or crashing a party for social media influencers. Slappy Squirrel getting new fans because her work is now on a streaming service. Skippy Squirrel trying to become a YouTube celebrity. Wakko, Yakko, and Dot running amok in a prestige premium cable or streaming drama. Wakko, Yakko, and Dot pitching multiple series to a new/struggling streaming service desperate for content. Goodfeathers dealing with gentrification. What do you want to see?
  17. This a post for speculating on what might happen in season 11, or what you would like to see happen in season 11.
  18. While both shows are ensemble shows, I think Mom is different. Mom started off as a comedic duo; it was the Bonnie and Christy show. Over the course of the series, the show drifted away from that and became much more of an ensemble show and Christy was gradually almost sidelined. To put it another way, I cannot imagine a season of The Big Bang Theory without Sheldon. I can totally picture a season or multiple seasons of Mom without Christy.
  19. One of my friends and I had the perfect idea for a season long story arc for Wendy. She's dating a doctor, but he keeps getting called to the hospital each time the others are going to be meet him, and every now and then he has to cancel plans with her. The others begin to wonder whether or not he is real. The viewer has seen him and knows he is not only real but a wonderful person.
  20. Tammy kept living with Marjorie because Marjorie really needed a roommate due to her own finances. Tammy realized that if she moved out, Marjorie wouldn't be able to afford the house, so Tammy decided to stay to ensure that Marjorie would be able to stay in her house and not need to find another job.
  21. I'm actually totally okay with Christy being off the show. It's going to be the the same ensemble show we've been watching for the past few seasons, minus the weakest character. They've been focusing on the other women in AA, and that's been great. It allowed them to tell a wider variety of stories. The writers couldn't come up with any more good material for Christy, so I'd rather see her leave then be given weak material week after week. I was hoping the writers would do more with support for people with a gambling addiction, but they didn't. Again, the actress is great-the writers weren't giving her great material to work with. Also, Marjorie is like the Mom of the group, and I could make a case for Wendy filling that role as well. Wendy is often right, but no one listens to her. She does a great deal of nurtring that is ignored by the rest of the group.
  22. That's a really good point. She doesn't need a roommate.
  23. It used to be 100 episodes or 5 seasons, but sometime in the past 15 or 20 years it was changed to 88 or 80something episodes, which would make it 4 seasons.
  24. Slightly related, but also slightly off topic. I think a show needs 4 seasons for syndication, and there is real money in selling syndication rights. If a show makes it to 3 seasons, it is probably getting a 4th just so they can sell syndication rights. I liked Baxter as a character so it's a shame we won't see more of him, especially if Christy is out of the picture. He worked best in small doses and the writers understood that having him on a few times per season was the best way to use the character.
  25. This is a far better and more thoughtful version of she transfers to another law school out of state. Also, California is such a large state, it could still be something within California, but too far away for her to make regular visits home.
