  1. This is so unintentionally hilarious and reminds me that my quarantine eyebrows may need a little threading!
  2. She cuts to the meat because they are still bothered. I mean Gizelle and Ashley said as much, that her insults were to the jugular. Mia stays pressed about being called a handsome sasquatch Ashley stayed pressed about being called wide bodied. I don't think I've heard Candace get that upset about being told she looked like a chipmunk when Ashley said it. I'll give a presumption of being cut, when someone keeps bringing up a slight that they brought on themselves, which BOTH of them did.
  3. Why would Chris's child support stop Candace from having a baby? I think that would be his separate debt and if so, his ex could MAYBE go after 1/2 of their marital income is my understanding. Candace can have a baby anytime she'd like. She is making good money from the show. Kenya Moore appears to be a single mother who cares for her baby just fine off RH money. To me, its as toxic if not more toxic for people to assume that if a childless woman doesn't like a woman with children its because they are jealous as to assume a single woman must hate a married woman because she wants a man or doesn't have a man. It seems far more likely that Candace is striking while the iron is hot. She has her music, she has her movie, her TV show, she has her coursework at Howard. Its not hard to get knocked up by some old, rich, gollum looking asshole who is looking for a young, desperate beard. Seems like it would be harder to make the career moves that Candace is making. Nor is there really any proof that Chris and Candace are on Dorothy's payroll other than Dorothy manipulatively dropping hints. If Dorothy had a claim, she would have been much more clear about it, because she was no shrinking violet about the townhouse.
  4. I think I see these two things differently because you just know Dot was dying to be on TV and cause a fracas. Dot gave as good as she got and sometimes gave better. But with Mia, the storyline with her mom is just, she shits all over her mom and her mom just takes being shit all over. We never even got to hear her mothers side of the story about that fight. Mia is using her mother's addiction for a storyline and mostly for sympathy and cover.
  5. this is hilarious and I'm stealing it. I think Gizelle's go to is to act like she isn't bothered. I'm not sure about clawback rules, but I know they are a thing, and the IRS is the worst loan shark on the block. They will get their money, no matter whose kneecaps they break. Its just another reason why I think Gizelle should have been extremely hesitant about having her daughters name on anything Jamal was associated with. Who know what money he used to stake that restaurant and what its origins are. I believe sometimes "back taxes" can be used when the IRS finds out you've been trying to funnel your money into shady shit so you don't have to declare it.
  6. The first part of the reunion went better than I expected! I could do without Robyn's continually stank faced mug. Bitch, if you really need to say something, say it and don't allow yourself to be cut off or interrupted. As Candace said, this is a show about verbal sparring, if you want to use Emily Post rules you're gonna get ignored. I had no problem with anything Wendy or Karen said w/r/t Gizelle. Its no fun to be the target of a gang up, is it Gizelle? I also still don't know what the story is, because for someone who doesn't care Gizelle seems to keep getting caught in lies. Like you two broke up after Christmas, but then before Christmas Jamal was saying your relationship wasn't real. And then Gizelle didn't even really deny it when Andy was saying that Jamal basically cheated on her again after she let him back in. But how could that possible? You didn't think you were in a relationship and you knew about everything? And then Gizelle is salty when Wendy pointed out it was TWO women Jamal was talking to. I think Gizelle should just take the L on the Jamal thing. Either admit you did it for a storyline or that this toad bamboozled you...yet again. I don't think Andy hates Candiace, he mentioned her record at the top of the show (good on her!) and even mentioned a shout out from Anita Baker. I can't imagine that was written into some sort of contract. I DO think Andy got sore when Candiace called Mia ungrateful, because I think in Andy's opinion, the only person they should thank for their careers and camera time is him. I do think Candace could have gone in harder on Mia than a 'yo momma joke and I think that if Mia stays another season, it will be, in part because of her tiff with candiace. The irony of Gizelle talking about Candace being foul to Mia, a person she didn't know, when she made a 'yo momma joke about a woman she didn't know what rich, when one considers that she was allegedly friends with Karen, and wore that shitty tee-shirt to come after Ray, a man who did nothing to her. And Gizelle's cruelty was 100% premeditated and designed to cut deep at a time she KNEW Karen was hurting. Candiace made a 'yo momma joke about a woman she didn't know to another woman she didn't know. Gizelle knew Ray and still did that on national TV. So Gizelle shouldn't be offering up opinions on acceptable and unacceptable meanness. Someone was talking about couch positions, and based on that Ashley would be the only one who might be in danger. Gizelle and Wendy first seat either side, Candace and Karen second seat. Robyn and Mia third seat and Ashley/Askale fourth seat....and Askala was just a friend of. I think Ashley has a big forehead, but now I can see that due to her jay leno chin, she just has a long face. She might benefit from bangs.
  7. I doubt any, if at all. Just being on the show is going to get people to listen to the record, even so they can just say its garbage. I'm also not sure how much of the actual viewership hates candiace. I think people who are active on social media could potentially be a barometer, but its probably just a very tiny portion of the overall viewership. I like Candace but I'm simply not a fan of the slow jams.
  8. Gizelle has no problem ganging up on others so turnabout is fair play. I think candace is very quick with a read and it sure cuts straight through to anyone who tries to mix it up with her. Mia is still pressed about being called a handsome big foot. Ashley is still pressed about being called wide bodied. I found the 'yo momma joke funny. It is so silly that it's more funny than anything else. It reminds me of Kenya Moores villainy which was often with a wink and a nod. It's funny to me that everyone lost their shit over a random 'yo momma joke and not over gizelle and that t shirt.
  9. I agree with all you say @drivethroo but wonder what, if any, tax/IRS implications there may be for Gizelle's daughters with that restaurant that Jamal "gave" them. That entire thing just read as super scammy, and I didn't think it was a cute idea for Gizelle to publicly seem like she was in agreement with that.
  10. I thought she said she was dating a sportscaster -- does Van have a side hustle I don't know about?
  11. With all the shit Gizelle talks, she shouldn't ever advocate for violence in response to words. If thats the position she wants to take, she needs to get into the gym with Robyn. Mia is ridiculous for saying that Candace would cause her mother's relapse. Mia is the one routinely shittalking her mother on national TV. If anyone causes Mia's mother to relapse, its Mia. She only seems to care about her mother's sobriety when it suits her, or gets some attention/sympathy. I find it interesting that Mia's mother is totally find watching her sisters kids, as a full time nanny apparently, but somehow, she just can't handle Mia's kids. There is more to that story.
  12. Or how about, you know he is an old man, so maybe have the carts like 2 minutes away so they can pull up once lunch is done. I think Josh was testing Logan and Kendall's reaction. I don't think Kendall had any water on him or he would have given it to Logan, because he was trying to get Logan to rest towards the end. It feels like Josh was maybe never going to give them a fair shake and would always have a "reason" why he went with Stewy. Shiv's smug smile disappeared real quick when she saw once again how quick her dad turned on her. Guess she may have backed the wrong team.
  13. I'm interested to see what the mothers in the group have to say, because I probably have some difficulty understanding Condola's perspective. I can identify with Condola's sister though.
  14. Okay, then I disagree with that. Ashley routinely picks fights and when candace excoriates her she has no comeback but has to whine to the cast and play runteldat with to candace's husband. But this is always the way its been. Ashley just isn't very fast. When Karen confronted her at Katie's farm and said "clankety clank, you might want to help Michael with that bar of soap!" Ashley literally just sat there with her mouth gaping open like a dying fish. Ashley had a whole lot of shit to talk about Ray dropping the soap in her confessionals, but when it came back to her in real time Ashley had nothing to say. If and when the GEB decide she is no longer a useful idiot to throw under the bus when it's conveinent, Ashley is going to be in trouble.
  15. A reasonable interpretation of the exchange below is that you're saying candace is in the wide gulf between being quicker and smarter than Ashley and a mensa member. And I agree with that.
  16. Don't look now, but you are literally still talking about it. So perhaps you think the horse is just on life support. Last time I checked 2 examples is better evidence of someone's position than 0 examples.
  17. Is Idris Elba even a human? I assume he is some super sexy cyborg sent from the future. Eddie on the other hand, not bad looking, but no one was sending him from the future is all I'm saying.
  18. and this is what irks me about Shiv. Kendall is a douche bro asshole, but thats the image he projects. The rapping at Logan's party....whatever that picture was of him with his thumbs up. yikes, yikes and yikes. But he seemed to be the only one who really cared that anything happened to anyone at cruises.* So, if anything he has an asshole facade that may have been hiding some semblance of a conscience. When Kendall told Shiv that he is who she thinks she is, I thought that rang true. Roman is, who he is, which is also an immature asshole. Shiv on the other hand, projects the image you're talking about, but at the end of the day, she could care less and so its inauthentic. I think that had the press conference moved forward, she would have said the right words and hit her marks, but it wouldn't have been believable to anyone other than people who really wanted to believe what she was saying. But I don't think the glow would have lasted very long, because who she actually is would have come out eventually. * - my season interval memory is awful, so its entirely possible I forgot what Kendall has done that showed he 100% didn't give a shit.
  19. I'm currently trying to lose 30 pounds and its really hard. And I don't have the toxic relationship Tammi does with food. She would have to be super motivated and focused to lose that weight, and she just....isn't. I mean, even if she loses half her weight, she would be what, nearly 400 pounds? She will still be in a society that generally sees her as conventionally unattractive. The only thing that might have motivated Tammy was a relationship, but unless she wants a man like Amy's husband (forgot his name) she is going to end up with the same users and fetish feeders who have a vested interest in keeping her obese so they can feed on her low self esteem. I was watching this really interesting show called Dietland that was only on one season on AMC, but its a very interesting take on struggling with obesity, particularly as a woman. I agree with you, it seems like that oxygen tank may be a permanent thing and I can't see how anything gets better from there.
  20. Listen, just know that I'm not trying to be that guy, I'm really not, but like, come on man, how can I trust you to sell me homegoods when you think these two men look like
  21. Does she have an opinion on 3 wick vs. 1 wick? I was surprised that at least one of Wendy's candles sold out immediately. its a fairly small candle and it just didn't sound that interesting so I'm not sure if she just isn't ordering a lot of stock? But can you imagine the power of a storyline? Robyn's caps and Wendy's candles may both be selling at the TJ Maxx.
  22. LOL, yeah, I disagree with the notion that just because you don't know about something its not culturally relevant or prevalent. Its entirely possible that you simply do not know about everything that is culturally relevant, and this can be true even if you know about a lot of other things that are culturally relevant. Knowing about some culturally relevant things does not mean you know about all culturally relevant things. Can you think of a single show parody on SNL that wasn't about a culturally relevant show? I have two examples, but you appear to have none. And while bitcoin is not a TV show, the point remains, that not hearing about something as a singular person does not mean that it is not culturally relevant or prevalent or well known by a wide majority of people. It only means that you don't know about it. To me, it seems far more defensive to insist that something isn't culturally relevant when you're given evidence to the contrary. I would agree that Candace is quicker and smarter than Ashley/Mia and is not a mensa candidate. LOL.
  23. She is a good friend. Especially if she actually purchased said candles. If I had a friend come at me with some small $50 candles I might wait for a sale! Her fragrances sound good but not great. By contrast, jo Malone candles also are super pricey but you're getting a complex fragrance profile from a master perfumier.
  24. Not sure how you could know the cultural impact since you didn't even know about the show. Are you under the impression that when you don't know about something that means it doesn't have a large cultural impact? And that's why I didn't just mention it but also provided multiple examples to prove the point. SNL parodies are almost always based on extremely popular and culturally relevant shows because if they are not then the audience won't at all get the joke. Can you think of a show parodied on SNL that wasn't culturally relevant? I truly cannot, but maybe you can think of a few? To me it seems like your proof that the show wasn't a culturally popular reference is because you haven't heard of it. Which seems like an odd way to try to prove anything other than that YOU hadn't heard of it. I hadn't heard of bitcoin until last year, that doesn't mean it wasn't extremely popular. It just means that I hadn't heard of it. As for candace, no, she isn't a mensa member, and I never said she was. However there is an extremely wide gulf between "smarter and faster than Ashley Darby" and mensa.
