My brother was arrested for a terrible crime that involved an “in-law” family member, a minor (17 years old). Of course he adamantly denied the crime and had various “stories” about what actually happened. The absolute shame and horror my parents, my sister, his ex-wife, his children, my children and I endured, it’s hard to describe. At the same time, we loved him and had incredible happy memories of him. We helped him get an attorney, not because we thought he was innocent, but because we wanted him to be punished appropriately for what he actually did. ( complicated family dynamics). We also set hard rules: he was not allowed to speak to us about the charges, I refused to listen to his wild excuses and explanations. He died unexpectedly before his trial began. Hundreds of people who loved him attended his funeral. My parents will never, ever be the same. I still see his victim in passing occasionally. I want to hug her and tell her that I’m sorry, and I hope she has healed. Instead, I smile, look at her sweet face and hope she knows. I still have a framed photograph of him and I dancing at my 21st birthday party. I still love him. I still miss him. All of this to say, it’s complicated. Prayers and hopes of healing for his victims and for his family.

I think the sisters are so cult brain washed that they feel guilty that their abuse is being used to bolster the persecution of their brother. maybe they ALL ARE supporting Josh and think he is being framed by the satanic forces of the World. I think she is saying that josh is suffering like Job suffered. even IF he is found guilty, he will be compared to Job and praised for his “enduring faith and loyalty to God.” I don’t believe any of them will ever believe or at least admit to believing that Josh is guilty of anything This cult is so damaging. And f’ed up.

Maybe Jill testifying is empowering her. Maybe being able to say what happened to her and her sisters WASN’T normal or common and have others validate her pain will give her power. Maybe being able to say in public to people who believe how it actually happened, not what her parents/cult told her what happened will give her power. Maybe the mere fact that HER testimony will assist in a guilty verdict of a pedophile (I know he’s not being tried for pedophilia) and will prevent her abuser from abusing other children will make her feel power. Maybe dyeing her hair and piercing her nose makes her feel power. I support Jill.

I keep getting flashbacks to Casey Anthony. Despite everything, she walked… could his defense pull it off?

I have a couple of questions: I know that an attorney works for their client and all communications between them are confidential. But, if a 3rd party is paying the huge attorney’s fees, can that 3rd party say: “I must be included in all communication and I will have input on all decisions or I will stop paying the fees”? Next question: Do you think the Duggar’s are gamblers? Will they tell Josh to take a plea? Although that will be admitting his guilt, it will protect all family secrets. (I’m sure there is more skeletons in that shared family close.) OR Will they tell Josh to go to trial? He “might” get lucky and be acquitted. Then they can talk about persecution, martyrdom, and how they persevered during this “season of life.” But that will reveal all of Josh’s ugly secrets and quite possibly family secrets as well. Will they take that chance? another question: remember Casey Anthony? When it got down to the wire, she and her attorney threw her father under the bus. Do you think Josh and his attorneys would do that? (Not exactly the same way, but you know…similar.) if you think he would, who does he choose to blame?

So, they go to a bookstore and say: “First I will take a picture of you while You pretend to be deep in thought, THEN you take a picture of me while I pretend to be deep in thought. No one will ever think it’s staged. We will look so cool!” Don’t forget to look like you HATE the spotlight.

Shouldn’t the bears go into hibernation soon? in past seasons, it seems that the bears were a problem for the first few weeks then eventually disappeared? and yes I agree, a hunger games cannon type of notification of contestants tapping out would give the remaining participants hope!

I think a sex abuse survivor who was forced to live with her abuser, serve her abuser, clean up after her abuser, go on national tv and say “it was nothing”, watch her parents cater to her abuser, and was taught from a young age that her abuse was her fault deserves to be given a little leeway in her reaction of her abuser being arrested. Is she wants to post a video of a choreographed cheer dance in celebration of his arrest, or a rant video cursing her brother, or a smug photo of her empty sink, flowers and eating graham crackers: I’m here for it! you go on with your bad self, Jill. More power to you!

Earlier posters were saying they thought Jana would be forced to be the “3rd party custodian.” How evil...forcing someone to facilitate the release of the person who molested your sisters. The judge could not allow that could she? I know josh was never convicted, but the whole family including the victims talked openly about it on national TV.

Just wondering: 1. If JB and Michelle paying for Josh’s defense (we know they are) would thry continue to pay if the defense decided to use the strategy “someone else” (my brothers) are responsible? In other words? Would JB and Michelle throw their other children under the bus to protect Josh? 2. Would JB and Michelle pay for the defense if Josh insisted on going to trial and They KNEW that their daughters would be called to testify about Josh’s history of sexual assault? In other words, would JB and Michelle force their daughters to be traumatized again just to protect Josh? Or would they expect them to lie to protect Josh? hopefully, JB and Michelle will tell Josh to confess and take plea deal. Not only because that is what he deserves, but to also protect their other children.

If my parents supported the person who sexually molested me as a child AND also profited from a show that portrayed them as God fearing, loving, better than everyone else parents AND then shunned ME? you better believe my husband would have some shit to tweet about my parents. derrick may be an asshole, at least he didn’t make her forgive her molester and keep sweet.

Probably not the case, but I know a business owner who took Covid business relief money. He the spent it on a huge boat. Hundreds of thousands of dollars. The feds arrested him and he has already been to court. He was found guilty and is to be sentenced later this month. The feds were FAST. Maybe josh did something similar? he was first raided before Covid tho? maybe this arrest has nothing to do with the earlier raid?

Her shoes are “hey dude” shoes. They are quite popular around here (Florida). I don’t have any but I have heard they are the MOST comfortable shoes ever. kids, teens, adults, everyone’s wearing them.

Passive aggressive “mama Duggar”, implying that she is so much younger. if my DIL’s mother called me mama or Mrs. I would be insulted. I have a friend who was sorta a MILF. She was very dramatic and always had some drama that required the assistance of the 15-18 year old sons of our friends. lost her keys, flat tire, help unloading her car, can’t find her toddler, it was always something. I am a nurse in Florida. Yes, “scribes” work with the ED physicians and do all of the computer documentation. The scribe actually accompanies the physician while they are seeing patients and complete the documentation templates. Most of our scribes are medical students. Scribes are completely different than transcriptionists. This is a result of Meaningful Use. A CMS program that required all hospitals to implement electronic documentation. The MU program has now become the Interoperabilty program.

The types of masks that people are encouraged to wear do NOT protect the person wearing the mask. It protects the ones around you. Cathy, not wearing her mask, is not putting herself at risk. She is outside and does not appear to bring within 6 feet of strangers. She’s not putting anyone else at risk either.
