I really meant the adults (older than Alex and younger than Ladd/his brother) who are now working full time on the ranch, as Ladd and his brother ease into retirement. I forgot the names of some of the cowboys who Ree used to make a point of making a dish for - she called one of them 'Cowboy _" . When Ree used to cook an alumunmin foil pan of a dish, and took it out to where they were, most of those men too could be moving towards an easier life than working cattle from sunup to sundown.

I thought from day one that family grooms kids to go into the family business... whether it be cattle ranching or "pioneer woman" She has her education and her husband, next logical step could be starting up a homeschool..virtually.. and feeding the younger newer ranch-handlers....

just popping in to see what is new.... she crossed my mind as they are showing a big snowstorm a few states to the west... how is her restaurant ? does she show the kids during her cooking segments or show episodes of the meals she makes for them ? Any more house remodeling ?

two things initially puzzle me about the original homecoming - 1) the turkey thief in handcuffs at Ikes while the sheriff shoots pool. The sheriff was in that great of a need to shoot a round not to take a prisoner back to a holding cell ? Or was the weather too bad ? Wasn't there other "hot" goods in his truck - that should go back to their rightful owner, so maybe they have have turkey and gravy on the table? Also - JohnBoy comes across too wise not to gas up at Ikes when that is the only place in town to get gas . And I prefer the sheriff during the regular series. Marmaduke“ Ep Bridges😁 2) the stop at the Baldwins. Yes - one wants to be cordial to the seniors , but I think that dragged out too long. The Reverend shouldn't have prevented JohnBoy from stating why they were there. JohnBoy already lost time hanging out at the service, which I think the Reverend took his own family home first before going to the Baldwins. I felt so bad when they had to turn around b/c of a fallen tree in the road, JohnBoy is from a logging background - he couldn't unhitch the horses from the sled to pull the tree back out of the way? Or is that a job only for mules and not Thoroughbreds ? {more puzzles might come to mind later}

Now this is an episode that could be dissected. Should we start with the quart (or was it an half-gallon) of perfume Ben gave her, the neighbor lady with all of her potions, how the teens managed to get out of the house without a sound - Elizabeth on crutches, Amie's screaming when the accident happen (tv dramatized it), Elizabeth who was brought up around wood stacks who should have known better not to go climbing, or yes the guilt Mary Ellen tirade on Ben and Jim Bob. Kudos to the plan where Ike/Corabeth thought Amiee was at the Waltons on an overnight playdate PS: not one of my fav eposides.. the potion lady gives me the creeps

Wade's parents? Where they lived was mentioned in the " the conflict" episode? I missed that detail. I did wonder how/why so many generations were under a single roof when they had acres of land. understandable whey wade wanted to build his own place. Too bad we didn't get a chance to meet Henry. Wondering if he was as playful as grandpa. And that it would have been nice to know the courageous chances and backstory of grandpa as a very young man to move off that part of the mountain closer to the towns. Goes to show it only takes one person to change future generations.

I saw Vera in "the estrangement" that she never felt comfortable living off of the backwoods country. She was using to living life where it took all day to do things like cook , wash clothes, wait on hubby to return from xxx and didn't know or even want to know how to adjust with being somewhere else. A case of you can take someone out of the country - but the county couldn't leave her. She really didn't leave on her own accord - they were forced out due to urban development, so she already had a bad taste for the newness the world was changing into. Also, she struck me as the type who didn't know how to make friends out side of family, or handle issues outside of her husband and baby. Otherwise she wouldn't have bothered to run straight to the Waltons (even though I give her credit for getting a cab there) when she could have went straight to the relatives on her side, that she mentioned. I'm got the idea too that she had limited formal education, which made city living just that more complicated. Just imaging turning the oven on to 350 degees, and no real visible wood fire, to cook - when you have no idea what that means. Long story short - her life was probably a physically demanding and a limited resource hell, but it was the hell she wanted to stay in. Now as for her hubby still 'shine... yep the city helped him prosper until he put his 9-5 in jeopardy.

Btw - what accolade or honor do they get for being 5 yrs on team? I thought they get the pinky ring sooner than that. Sidney get anything for 7 yrs? 5 years seems to be a sweet spot, but I never knew why - is that the magic number to be an All star? Pro Bowl and VoY is by team votes, right, so any vet can enter and win the election? -

and that halftime show with all of the stunts, for cancer awareness. her first year , it just seemed her dancing wasn't that strong. and yes, the last year her injury. It just seemed her injury and dancing was getting beat out. I can't remember her dance background . yes - she can cheer and do stunts with the best of them, but when you have ladies who danced (all genres) from age 2-3, danced/performed in HS, danced in college , danced on some other professional team, took classes and lessons all over the place, there seems to be a gap, at least on paper, and those two years visually. -

Another reason wht ahe should have danced for another team and finished a hopefully successful season. Yes - the sting of being benched is part of life, but maybe it could have been less emotional for her to talk about, if there was something good that happened later. -
why would any man be overjoyed that his side piece was getting married? Margret should have known better. Yes - tell Frank, but don't take it overboard.

ITA. For as much of a know-it-all she came across - that big lapse in common sense is my issue with her. Why not try to get on another team - any team any where else - before taking the big leap to the DCC? And I still haven't gotten to the bottom of what does the "director of college recruiting football operations" do? If a director's job slot at a college is that important to have for career building, then maybe its best to let DCC go. A director position in my field barely would have time to dance to a TikTok, let alone an NFL team. And wouldn't good ole common sense kick in knowing that college football and the NFL play during the same months - just one day apart??? And if you are in recruiting from HS - there goes Friday night. Maybe she should have waited for the director position of college baseball/softball. Yes - a person can have it all - but it isn't a mandate. -

I like Jay, but do agree he was out of his wheel-house of expertise in that grocery store event. I didn't him either doing that "egg machine" body fat measurement when Tia was a rookie. I didn't need the point belabored that there are grease drippings at the bottom of the rotisserie container. And I think Taylor over exaggerated in the store - she grabbed like 3-4 boxes of the sweeter cereal brands along with the cookie dough and the cinnamon rolls. C'mon woman - keep some secrets to yourself - esp. when you know you're in the wrong. -
ada? I think I may be thinking of a different organization .. Charisse solicate days might be behind her a little. She was (ie past tense) married to a nba b-ball coach - who he himself may or may not be coaching. That was a long time ago, so very little invites for the wife of the a past coach , eps if his teams are just part of the league now - ie not the recent national champions. The her kids are past grown. No more being in charge of this activity, this school parent club or even rubbing elbows with another parent who is a big-name with xxx.

Not at all. I made the correction to my original post. 😇

Ashley did. The consequences of buying real estate, (or any property) that has someone's else name and/or financial contribution involved.

Agree. I am past tired of the who is in which room, how many rooms there are, how any toilets there are, is this a twin/queen/king/air mattress. Damn, these are grown women. And I agree - this isn't college. Find an hotel, on the higher star end with accommodations, and book one complaining-woman per room. Period. Now I did think the airbnb was on a beach... I see a body of water - granted it might not be the Atlantic - behind it.
-
I see Charisse found a better wig. and curling iron.. and a different color. 👏 Robyn bought out again the GOOD wig...at the store that supposedly sells clothes for 25 yr olds (Giz claims to want to look like she's 25 in Miami Grand Dame had a paper ticket/boarding pass... yep she's an PITA...

Help me - I missed a big background fact : The lawyer in the white suit - which I am guessing is an attorney hired by ashely to represent her - asked if there was a prenup. I didn't hear (tv/recording issue/jump) her response. All I heard "last month"... what did she say ?? wouldn't it made some sense to bring the document with you?

I think in the 90s they would have had a woman Dr full-time MASH staff. They tried it with the visiting Dr from Sweeden, but once again she became Hawkeye's love intrest. In the 90s she should have/could have been his full counter part - or get this------ his boss.
-
True. But he got his turn to be funny in " The Joker is Wild ".... which I thought each joke was quite funny... that poor visiting Dr didn't know what to think.... Hawkeye trying to sleep in a wired-chicken cage using a golf putter as a weapon..."Hawkeye - I've been gone a day so why do you look a year older".... Speaking of jokes - Now I didn't get Hawkeye's arm flapping joke by a circus performer in "Dear Uncle Abdul"... I read somewhere the joke was written in the script NOT to be funny.. Margret loading a shot-gun to make her footlocker a battle casuality - now that was funny...
