  1. Ok, I'll bite. What was wrong with the house pre-reno ? I'm guessing it was an existing structure on the property, and the made it modern, for them, when they moved in from NYC, prior to the show. I can't recall seeing other parts of the house. Some of family meals looks like a long table in a covered building.
  2. just popping in to see what's the chatter about... I am from the Midwest and miss some of the recipe's you would see at potlucks. No shame in liking good old fashioned meat, pasta and potatoes and mayo in potato salad. That salad with the grapes, is a no for me.. put the grapes on the side. The pickle-pizza was a miss for me. My mom did canned pickles, so I guess that is a salute to the late summer/fall cucumber crops. I do like that Molly brings in her additional heritages in her cooks. I just watched the Purim episode, which gave me an idea for stuff cheese crust. I think food network needed that. I'm guessing some of her "silly-cutesy-funniness sprinkle-mania" is a way of FN to bring in a younger audience - esp. since the pandemic shutdown - more people cooking at home and less take out, I see this current season seem to get just about every day of her pregnancy. and I guess it effected her sinus - or many she just couldn't take anything to clear it up I do wonder now with a family of 4 and being what appears to be a good size farm , is she going to transition into cooking for a larger, heartier crowd - ie newer version of Pioneer women. I miss a few episodes each season (roll off dvr) but I can't recall what all crops they grow, which I'm guessing was their main income. What side products does she peddle? I'm sure the network has something they insist being sold at walmart..
  3. Isn't the oldest son working on being a hot QB at a big college football pgm - meaning a few muscles, weight in the correct places, age, good football stats and hopefully calls one day from the the NFL can definitely change a man's appearance...
  4. I thought he meant he hadn't played on the NFL field in 15 years, since he was held his knee right before he said it. I get him and his brother confused on who appeared on which show, but he's been in/out NFL stuff. He need to lay low on personal marital business. according to wiki - he has a couple of bones in his skeleton closet (scroll down to personal life)..And it appears Tiki has a history of meddling in other people's personal financial/work business... so I guess that helped his resume to get on this show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiki_Barber#Post-football_career
  5. ITA. I think its at the point her recipes might need a disclaimer if there is such a thing - which may be happening online... "This recipe has been updated and may differ from what was originally published or broadcast. " , see recipe below. For me it was her monster cookies.. too much in one recipe. Its no way my health could take that. it was like anything salty/ sugar treat she had on hand (ie pretzels, Halloween candies, raisins etc) went into the cookie. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/monster-cookies-recipe-2120387
  6. Nephew ? I thought he was in college and/or ranch hand heir-apparent #3 ? He didn't hang around her cooks much when he was younger.
  7. I would prefer if Andy/Tre/Brovo insist on Gia being on camera, she and the other grown children (or find some strays ; "friends of" } spin off onto their own show - start with a 30 min mini-series version. I would feel better seeing 20-sometings oogle over Frankie Jr shirt off than being at a show setting with his parents. Let Dr. Gabby be the sane one with reasonable lessons, not sure what the Manzo adult-children are up to, and let Antonia, Gabriella, , Milania since they are in the mid to late teens have a quick little segment. Jennifer's oldest is pushing up there in years too - I felt so bad for her that now she has to bear the news of her fathers infidelity. wow - grown folks problems 10.0. Can't remember how old is Jackies 1st set of twins. There is a series with adult children of famous OG hip-hop artists that did just that - which brings in a whole new audience. I would rather see Gia go off on 20-something age issues more so that get involved in adult foolishness. Surely there can't be a shortage of drama that can't be cooked up with that age group.
  8. I wish we would get to the point of all of these affairs like Delores and Frank act about their situation... He did it, he admits it, she acknowledges it and has moved on. Its kinda refreshing to see them both talk about the affairs with the same emotion as one talks about the weather. Don't know its good or bad to have a role model on "whom's guide should I follow when infidelity is involved" - but I have to give credit where credit is due, as they both could be still acting like King and Queen SOBs about the situation 20+ years later (sidenote - I know people like that - still mad as hell about some man 30+ years later).. Prayers for her mom's health.. It was good to see both parents on camera - they keep it real. Maybe Delores should look into a nutritional service for her parents diet - and just get use to her mom complaining about eating better. sad to say - its not an easy road.. And Delores is going to have to learn to prepare/serve traditional foodies differently at her house gatherings, too. Its a lifestyle change and lot of homegrown dishes, of many cultures, have the same problem - can't (well shouldn't) cook them the same way as a couple of generations ago did. I love a good traditional antipasti platter myself - but sodium level in processed meat and some cheeses and I think olives-varieties - no , lets make a different presentation.
  9. Given the light of what just happened... Unless that is something I don't know about Tamar which is alot as I don't follow her either - but just what the hell is she doing that she couldn't be with Traci more in MD? There's little excuse - covid restrictions or not - that she couldn't travel to be more physically in-tuned with her sisters. She's a single woman now and I think Vince would have understood her spending more time in MD with or without their son. Tamar is still a woman with financial means - get on a flight commercial or private, rent a house and go be with your terminally ill sister. Its not like she had to ride Greyhoud for 5 days to get from CA to MD while eating crackers and Vienna sausages out of a can, and make a sleeping pallet on a cold hardwood floor.. With that said - just how much time does she spend with Toni , who we all know have Lupus and in the same state she's in ? How much time does she spend with her parents - who appear to be in good health, but they are in their seasoned years.. Sorry for the rant - just hurting from hearing the news about Traci..
  10. My God... Total major shock.. didn't even know she was sick... and such a strong woman, so real.. ... Just too too sad...Just went things were going well ( at least on tv)... new grandbaby...still dabbling singing on her own... still has hubby-original.. I need to look up Esophageal cancer... there's no cure??? gone in a year at 50??? 50- that is super scary... did trying to restart singing at an later age put pressure on her cords/throat. Is this another one of those health issues that hit african-americans the hardest and the earliest - like colon cancer??? My deepest prayers and sympathy to the family... , Rest easy, God's newest Angel.. 😥
  11. I'm not saying and surely didn't mean to imply they are big losers. And yes - there is no harm in perusing a different career. Many child actors used their earning to fund college or other endeavors, so that is a way of letting funds carry into adulthood.
  12. did any of the Walton children except for Judy & Richard go on to become working adult small screen actors? Any maybe behind the camera ? I guess it was amazing if the money earned from the waltons sustained them into their adulthood. Or did the contract with all of the reunions prevent them from taking on other roles -esp with the major 3 networks, I know it was probably a little challenge being type-casted, and network TV/ made for TV movies/ cable was changing to be more "raunchy" - which I think was an issue for Mellissa Gilbert to be taken seriously as an adult actor for a minute.
  13. sorry I can't shed a tear. Plus there will always be reruns..
  14. I guess I don't want her to find a steady , as there is no harm in being happily single, focusing on raising her daughters, learning to co-parent, writing books and being on TV. I don't get just why the RHO* as soon as they get divorced, they find/get a man, when the ink is barely dry on the papers. Next we will hear she is trying to pop out another baby - so she could have her "son".. Given what Tre when through - legal issues, jail, hubby in jail, restitution, the stigma of divorce, loss of now both parents, and oldest going off to college, I would think, lets slow the roll on getting into a deep relationship. And didn't she say she's buying a house with Lou - which means now she is financially tied to the man, too ? Plenty of temporaries (ie they wouldn't be on camera/tabloids) out there.
  15. nothing else is on TV this AM, so here I sit watching food network re-runs.. I think I am into 1.5 hours... Alex just got engaged. Not really watching for the food recipes - which Ree seems to have turned a new page - how many instant/ready made products along with more questionable dishes, on a lower production budget using Alex as cameraperson #1? Is that what 4 years of college tuition led to ? I've always wondered if that is what the offspring was expected to do - go to college, have a little adult fun but come back and run the ranch and/or other parental businesses. Side note: Buddy Valestro oldest in in college now too - same thought question applies - is she supposed to be groomed to take over. hmmm I guess I was looking for more of an update on her family and the ranch hands. Like how is the grandfather Chuck doing, any new ranchers since the boys are college/high school age, is cowboy Josh still around, what is Todd doing, is Pagie bringing her boyfriend around, going to bryce's college football games, what breed is the new house dog, how is the restaurant (and anything else they built/rehab) in their town, stuff like that. They kept showing the back side of the house (or is that the lodge) air-view to the point, I felt it was a little like showing off - circa 1980s "Dallas" series.. I thought I heard she was focusing on recipes a little more on the healthier side and made for a smaller group of people - as her nest is emptying. Maybe I have to wait until grandbaby comes along and then the baby food line by pioneer woman will come into existence. Old Ree would have at least cooked rice -as she would have 99 varieties in her pantries. She opened a orange-bag brand of 90-second microwave Jasmine rice. Then another dish she used roasted can corn . Old Ree would have least put it on the grill or flat top to caramelize. Isn't corn a easy find staple in Okla? One dish she put shrimp and somekind of beef pieces in & out of the skillet at the same time -which meant most likely the shrimp overcooked. Then it was the flat bread pizza with too many mozz (she cut them in circles) and huge broccoli flower pieces. I think she is the first person on TV I've seen use pre-made pkg gnocchi . Last questionable was a quesadilla where she used mayo to toast the flour shell - the thing looked so greasy.. How many years we need to hear the men folk don't like wine, and/or their food cooked with wine, yet she adds it any way? Last snark - Ree's hair looks awfully good, trimmed , colored and full - esp at the end. It is all hers or did she get into adding pieces?
  16. Which is why I miss Nonno Gorga (see post above) on this show. Even though he probably wasn't feeling well, heath wise and being a widower, his last season, had some memorable moments.
  17. Set them up, set a trap, Hire P.I., call Cheaters, a caller set up her boyfriend on a radio show by having the host pretend he won flowers to be delivered from a local grocery store (he gave the side piece name/ address), etc This poor guy was caught via sports shows making fun of the crowd during a loss: link Did Jennifer ever say how she caught Bill? Or did Bill admit it?
  18. Wow - divorced in 1933- during the depression.....kinda uncommon (not to remarry) given the era...and given the industry - women roles, unless one was the love-squeeze interest, were still few and far between to make a stable living..And in her earlier days, I'm sure she could turn a few heads, too.. Married to her work, I guess. Just had a flashback to my own divorce- couldn't imagine going through it from a legal, court /property settlement perspective in the 1930s..
  19. doing a little flashback to perhaps episode 1 on this season - did they give a status on the grandparents this season ? At one time the grands made the episode. I miss Nonno Gorga - boy he was good for a few laughs - I still can't look at hot sauce without a chuckle. Last I remember Jennifer parents were separated and the mom was made at her for taking her fathers side, One of Delores parents were ill, Melissa's mom still looks like she is barely 31, and Jackie's parents (mainly her father) oddies. Marge Sr seems to always be around in some way. What time of year are we in during this season - is the mother's day luncheon coming up ?
  20. I kinda also contributed the non-war coverage due to the basis of the waltons - show what is going on the mountain, and everything else is a casual and delayed honorable mention. And a little bit of how hollywood wanted to portray war on TV (heavy gun battles) during that time- given it was only a decade or so after Vietnam, M*A*S*H was on the rise and a few westerns were still around. I don't recall seeing what JimBob did in war effort - he was mostly seen coming home on a weekend pass more than the work-week it took to get that pass. There was a few little scenes with Jason - like when is unit was under attack by a shooter who didn't know the war was over. Ben being a POW also didn't go into too much coverage - an enemy soldier leading them to US troops.
  21. ITA. Something was weird to me that your wife of decades is saying she has an eating disorder, the kids are noticing and you are sitting at lunch - smacking on goodies. I'm not saying Evan should skip meals - but at least put the untilsels down for a minute and be somekind of comfort. And then she had to go into the ED center alone..
  22. I was thinking a couple of weeks ago that the show has run its course. When the kids are grow up and old enough to be sitting in on grown folks conversations/liquid gatherings and going off on them, its time to pull the plug. And the constant flashback clips - means there is more in the past to talk about than the present. I don't mind though seeing Frankie Jr (who I guess has finished college) and Dr Vet Gabby. The show started with Mellissa's youngest getting baptized, so I guess they are trying to hold out for his wedding episode. But Andy loves Tre and has a son to raise , so RHONJ continues to be his cash cow, with Gia tending the bar on WWHL. RE: the "naked retreat experience" - I'm not buying he needed to go to a retreat to learn how to break up with a ex. He's a past grown man - how many Ex's has he had by now ? I mean is not 16/18 breaking up with a woman who he gave his virginity to or going off to war...
  23. Not Italian - not even a little percentage? . Trying to think of the phrase that Melissa uses... Now I wonder if that is also a thorn in brother-Joe's side to deal swallow
  24. NJ is the garden state. Their crops should look better than most. Now everyone screaming and gushing over the bacon... still trying to understand that one.... just what do they normally or occasionally have for breakfast ?
  25. I was waiting for Gia to show up in the middle of grown folks business (stupidity).... or did I miss her appearance already on this trip Or did she and her sisters jet off to Italy to see father Juicy ?
