  1. 2/5 (Sinatra/Netflix) Looks like I'll be bringing Kawartha Dairy Moosetracks ice cream (it's on sale), and some Muskoka Mocha for backup. I swear, that stuff talks to me from the freezer... "I'm here!"
  2. Thanks, Trey! I guess we're truly famous now. LMAO.
  3. I believe I've mentioned that I live where Gordon Lightfoot was born and raised. Our town has been on the map at times in celebration of Gord. Well, this week we made the national news headlines - apparently we have the worst Christmas tree in Canada! Only in Canada, eh? Even Jimmy Fallon commented on it. (Sorry, I don't know how to imbed a photo here if it isn't on my phone) FYI, in case any of you saw the photo of the tree trunk lit up, there was a reason for it. The tree has something wrong with it and the organizers were worried that placing lights on the branches would 'hurt' the tree. I have no idea who made the decision to only light the trunk (I would have selected a different tree; however, they didn't ask me!)... anyhoooo, it's hilarious seeing this huge tree trunk lit up! At least it doesn't have a huge bulbous top (thinking of palm trees) that would make it a phallic symbol. LOL
  4. Yesterday's FJ was one of those "blue eyes? Has to be Frank Sinatra. Wait a dad-blastin'minute... that's WAY too easy... where's the trick? *reads the clue again...* Nope, not second guessing my gut. I'm sticking with ol' blue eyes. (Sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm not.) Off topic: Happy Thanksgiving to all my USA friends!
  5. 3/5 Hope y'all like chicken pot pie - from scratch! (no soggy bottom pastry... just a puffy topping... and the best part? ... the fresh veggies, some from my garden)
  6. Just rewatched some of my fave moments of the show and had to make this comment about Jason and Dani's dance: I loved them coming down the stairs backwards! I don't remember seeing that before and I hoped they wouldn't trip! I also loved that slinky slide/move/twist at the end when she slid down his right leg and came out between his legs to be lifted up by him. It wasn't one of Gleb's I'm-too-sexy moves; it was tastefully done and I thought Jason handled the task well. Now knowing he was suffering with sinus/flu, I'm more impressed than ever with him. He reminds me just a bit of James Hinchcliffe from years ago. He was my all-time fave, dancing with Sharna and giving me 100% entertainment with his talents. His facial expressions! He was robbed of the win (plus they didn't let Canadians vote that season), IMO. For anyone else who's a James' fan:
  7. Want to hang out? You're my kind of gal. LOL (I read recently that people who swear are more intelligent. I don't care what the source is, or the veracity... my gut says it's true.)
  8. Please add me to the list of "wow... they didn't recognize Garth Brooks?!" I am still in shock. (I actually wouldn't have been shocked if they'd shown a photo of him without his hat... he really does look different, hatless. JMO) Ken's reminder about the centipede while going to commercial break gave me the creepy crawly feels.
  9. Can't say that I'm a Billy Porter fan; however, I loved the opening number... sound problems and all. I liked Julianne's 'look' tonight. Wanted to say that in comparison to her prior appearance as Madonna. I'm team Jason, for all the reasons listed already. If he leaves before Harry, I'll have to do something drastic... and no, I won't shoot my tv. When Barry took his shirt off, I was wishing he'd worn one of those ab-shirts (or whatever they're called - made to look like a 6 pack). He was a joy to watch.
  10. Mon - said Grapes of Wrath. At least I was on the fringe. Sort of like starting with a zero because now I'm stress free for the week. Tue - gapped totally. Oh oh... 2 zeros so far... looks like I might be bringing donut holes... Wed - OMG Said Cook as a total guess and only because I'd just been talking to Mr Bliss about my waking to roosters every morning when I had the privilege of vacationing at Cook Islands. Thur - decided on Faulkner because I'd just finished reading a book in which he was featured as a theme, and mentioned it to a friend on the phone... this sort of freaks me out. Is J! listening to my conversations? Fri - instaget. Don't ask me how I knew that. It was one of those, "I didn't know I knew it" blurts. FJ total: 3/5 @Clanstarling - thank you for posting the summary! Much appreciated 😍
  11. Oh my... Gordon Lightfoot is (was?) known to me - I wouldn't stretch it to "friend", but we've hugged! Many moons ago. His nephew is equally talented and he performed at one of the best-ever dances I've attended in my life. I've been known to blow Gordon's statue a kiss when I power walk past it in the park. Here, in our 'town' of his birth/death, he's a valued memory, warts and all. My niece puppysits his grandpuppy. Small world, sometimes. One last nugget: our town honoured Gordon this summer by having painted guitars throughout the streets... our artists took on the challenge as they do each year (one year was doors, another chairs, another boats, etc.) and the results draw tourists from far away. Goldie Hawn cottages not too far away and she made an appearance to witness the Gordon legacies. Wish I knew how to imbed a photo and I'd insert the Edmund Fitzgerald guitar. Coming back to topics at hand... I'm finding by having no expectations, I'm thoroughly enjoying the tournament shows. The games are fun and Ken continues to win my admiration for his hosting duties. He's quick with those adlibs!
  12. Love this show... and I even voted! BUT... What the F is Julianne wearing? Madonna? Ick.
  13. It happened again... was having a perfect week until Friday! 4/5* (Archie) I'm somewhat confused whether to be happy or sad that I was a ts. (Bliss) My food contribution is cabbage roll soup. If you love cabbage rolls, you'll love my soup!
  14. So happy this show is back on my tv... and happier that Tyra is not - but it seems Bruno has taken over where she left off. WHY does he think we all want to see his chest each week? He's way over the top, pun intended.
  15. Going into Friday's game, I was feeling smug... I was 9/9 running... Plus an * for Columbus. [I honestly thought everyone was taught that in grade 5 history (or thereabouts) that the reason the islands are called the West Indies is because Columbus thought he'd reached the Indian ocean!] Then came Friday's game. sigh So... 4/5* I'll bring smug pie. (my version of dutch apple with freshly whipped cream)
  16. Stunned. 5/5 (I'm not sure I've ever done that before.) Once I get over my shock, I'll bring some fancy beverages to wash down all the cookies.πŸ₯€πŸ₯‚πŸ₯ƒπŸ»πŸΊπŸ·πŸΈπŸΉπŸ§‹πŸ§ƒπŸ§‰πŸΆπŸΎπŸ΅πŸ«–β˜•πŸ₯›πŸ•<-my dog wants to come too! She 'loves' cookies!
  17. Since math is my strongest category (as opposed to opera, and many, many others... football, anyone?), I actually beat Josh at the answers. It's easy to figure out the question as Ken is reading the answer - if math is your strength. I've always had a mild addiction to numbers, puzzles in general, etc. It's just how I'm wired. Not sure why, but I was rooting for Kendra. Einstein came first, then Newton, then went back to Einstein. If there'd been another 10 seconds, I'd probably have switched back to Newton again. Mr Bliss thought both were wrong. Ha ha. I told him he had to do the dishes - my new rule for any verbal (during J!) intentional insult. Just kidding, sort of.
  18. Ditto @shapeshifter... Hi Saber! Y'all come back now, ya hear? (said in my redneck Nana voice)
  19. 3/5 ** I'm bringing my new invention: chicken stoup. It's somewhere between a stew and a soup, and is super tasty over rice... or maybe my company was just being polite in their "you should post this somewhere!" comments.
  20. Just finished watching this. Oh my, is Sherri Shepherd always this annoying or was I simply not in the mood for her 'dramatics'? I have more patience than most people I know, ... yet, I was ready to throw my fist through the screen every time she opened her mouth. Yikes, what an attention seeker! I'm a Christopher fan (won't divulge his best assets here LOL), and was fine with the results. Katie was great!
  21. Was almost Jeopardied-out last night after the tournament game and then Celebrity J! (I'd taped it)... the latter was so much easier! Obviously, I've missed my calling and should be a celebrity rather than an ordinary schmuck/redneck. Not!
  22. 2/5 and I'll bring anything anybody wants as my frig is FULL of Thanksgiving food. Even the bar frig is full! Oh, and if anyone wants some colourful maple leaves, I have a ton of those too ;-)
  23. The highlight of the show for me was Ken doing the pyramid - he's a good sport and absolutely made her day!
