  1. I have always loved Fabio's sense of style. It never comes off pretentious or try hard like so many designers we see on this show.
  2. IIRC, JB sat Josh down during his wedding special and explained that sex is just like legos. He also alluded to the fact that women take more time than men, but this may have gone over Josh's head. Josh also made reference to the fact that he'd soon have a "working model" to figure everything out.
  3. That's cringeworthy. If they were interested in a cheap option, then I would have done a fresh fruit salad, chicken salad on croissants (Sam's Club makes a great chicken salad and croissants), grilled vegetables (they can be cooked ahead of time and warmed, plus you can arrange them beautifully on a tray for serving), and a light lemonade with lemon wedge. I would also advise making those tortilla roll-ups (some call them pinwheels) in large quantities with several different kinds of meat if you are trying to keep guests from getting multiple sandwiches. They are a cinch to make and can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge.
  4. When I first saw her updated group pic I didn't understand why they invited Seth-Aaron back for a third time. Seriously, those two could be related.
  5. There is no way the wedding cost 200K. Maybe 2K if that.
  6. Cinderella certainly doesn't meet their standards. There's no father figure in the story, the step-mother is the boss and her biological daughters are vain and flirt with the prince, Cinderella talks to animals (I don't consider this witch craft, but many do), a fairy godmother (AKA witch) grants Cinderella's wish to go to the ball and transfigures a pumpkin into a carriage, Cinderella defies her step-mother's orders to go to the ball, she dances with a man she's not married to and KISSES him, she stays out past curfew, and ends up marrying prince charming without him asking permission from the nonexistent father or going through a courtship. Even writing this out I feel ridiculous.
  7. I know what you mean, GEML. My mother and I helped out at many wedding receptions for friends at church before I had my own and each family we helped over the years came and helped set up for my reception. I think where others are seeing the "tackiness" is inviting 1000 people you couldn't possibly know that well and expecting these people to set and cater your entire reception for you without offering them any recompense. At each reception I helped with as a kid we always were given a meal from the family or a handwritten thank-you note from the bride and groom for taking the time to help. This may have happened with the Dillards wedding, but we'll never know.
  8. The one time I remember clearly thinking that something was up with judges table was Tiffany Derry's elimination in TC: DC. It was top five and she fell into the bottom for the first time the entire season and they eliminated her over Kevin, who had sucked pretty much the entire season (one win at that point, and it was his fifth trip to the bottom).
  9. Jessa is Jordyn's buddy.
  10. I re-watched the episode and I agree that Kristen didn't handle the challenge well. I know the episode before determined whose concept would be used for RW, but was Kristen required to be executive chef? If I had no experience doing that sort of thing I would have had someone else be the chef and take on either the sous chef or front of the house role. I also think Kristen should have handled Josie like Michael V handled Robin in S6. Let her design one dish and have her focus on just that while she and Lizzie do everything else. I'm also amazed she didn't take Stefan's idea of taking two servers and putting them in the kitchen to help prep and serve. I'm even more surprised no one thought of doing that before or has done it since.
  11. Although I liked Kristen, her win will always be tainted for me because of Last Chance Kitchen. Even though one must "fight back" to earn their spot back on LCK, the conditions are completely different from those still in the running and beating one person is easier than having to go against multiple people. At least on Survivor in the seasons they have done redemption island the contestants remained in the same living conditions as the other contestants. Not to mention that Jeff has no hand in picking who comes back whereas Tom is the sole person who decides which dish is better. I think Kristen was deserving of the title, don't get me wrong, but I wish they had just gotten rid of Josie during the RW challenge and let Kristen go on to win legitimately. I've always thought she was kicked off so they could make LCK seem like a good twist by having someone come back from it and win the entire show. I'm also in the minority on this view, but season 2 is one of my all-time favorites. Anytime I am having a bad day all I have to do is put on the Thanksgiving episode from that season and it makes me laugh every time. The editing was also superb that season. No one was left off the hook in terms of the Marcel situation and I'm glad they didn't spare Ilan's edit because he was the eventual winner.
  12. These people really need to find their own TWD version of Mike Ehrmantraut. Maybe then there wouldn't be so many half-measures coming back to bite this group in the butt.
  13. TM2 Leah's daughter Ali was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy a while ago. They just recently got insurance approval to get her a much-needed wheelchair. Without Corey's benefits from his job they would not have been able to afford it.
  14. Heidi already said in an interview during Fashion Week that there was a final four this season so Char, Amanda, Kini, and Sean are all in the running.
  15. This sounds like something Michael Scott would yell at someone during an episode of The Office. :-/
  16. The house JoshAnna were given wasn't that bad, in my opinion. It was the perfect size for a newlywed couple and nicely maintained. It also belonged to Mary before she moved in with the family at the TTH so I can't imagine she would offer her home if it was run-down and uninhabitable. The house Dill was given was excessive. I'm a fairly newlywed looking into buying a home and Mr. Sprinkles and I aren't even looking at 4,000 sq. ft homes (as if we could afford one at this point anyway, lol). I know Jill doesn't work and has seemingly nothing to occupy herself until her baby is born, but the upkeep of a house that big is difficult and will only get harder with a baby in the mix.
  17. This episode title makes it seem as though someone is going to jail.
  18. The one way I could see the ice cream working is if they rent one of those Dippin' Dots carts that you see in the mall. That kind of ice cream would be easy to dole out because all you do is scoop the dots into the bowl. They also don't require toppings. Ice cream, though one of my favorite foods, isn't everyone's cup of tea in a cold month like November. If she wanted to be untraditional she could have gone with pies. A buffet bar of pumpkin, blueberry, apple, key lime, and cherry pie sounds divine. They can even slice the pies ahead of time if they want to control portion size. Another good option for actual food is a soup bar that I mentioned in a different thread. It's cheap, easy, and not a pain to restock if you have a kitchen nearby with simmering pots. Plus, depending on the soup type, you can always make it ahead of time and reheat it on the big day. Now all I have done is make myself hungry. :-(
  19. My main question is why does Jessa have to have her future father-in-law defend her? At her age she should be able to defend herself when she chooses to express her views and opinions. That's part of being an adult.
  20. I feel like we need a sticky. Alexander is winning because his university classmates organized an effort to win him fan favorite every week by having everyone vote during the episode.
  21. I remember Derrick talking to Frankie about it and he said the DR said as long as one person was going off for at least a minute it "counted". Bizarre. Someone needs to ask Derrick or Donny (I would never ask someone to willingly subject themselves to Frankie) about it.
  22. Korina's behavior was truly vile, but I can understand her frustration and antics. I don't condone her behavior, however, as she is a professional and should have acted professionally no matter the outcome. I hated when they did this same "sew for your life!" thing last year and I hate it now. The judges should have left the decision to the outfits in front of them and not issued the challenge. All this did was make an already tense situation even worse, in my opinion. They also should have allowed Char and Korina to pick their helpers and not left them to their partners. Of the two helpers Char got the better ones in terms of skill and timeliness. All this did was make the situation even worse because, in Korina's mind, the only reason Char was going to win was because of Sean's help. I liked the idea that someone had mentioned earlier about giving them two hours on their own with no help. I think that would have helped a bit in calming everyone down and made sure that everyone was relying on their own skill and not the skill set of their partner. I think the challenge was issued to incite more drama and it did its job. There's no way if it had come down to Char vs. Sean/Kini that they would have risked either of the boys if Char produced something so excellent that they couldn't justify sending her home for it.
  23. Derrick said on the live feeds they got credit for the "calling someone out" task. The show said they failed, but why would the DR lie to them about accomplishing it?
  24. I was on Facebook and a friend of mine who recently got married had the exact same bridesmaid dresses as the Duggar girls (from Pinterest, obviously). They were the same meh color, but the sleeves were down to the elbows with no lining and just the fabric (still very modest), the white at the bottom was just a little peek-a-boo (like Heidi Klum would say) that matched the fabric of the mint, and all the girls had on silver stiletto heels (appropriate for a formal event, not a club). It was a real improvement! ETA: They also didn't have that weird layering. Or the belts.
  25. Mary Catherine Dillard would be pretty and she'd have a plethora of nickname options. It's a traditional Catholic girl's name where I'm from, but they wouldn't necessarily know that. Plus, it would honor Grandma Duggar. She deserves some props. Boys are tougher. I can see them picking a trendy boy name like Mason or Cameron or going straight Biblical and picking Jacob. Jacob Richard Dillard sounds nice. ETA: zenme and I are on the same wavelength! I was typing my post as you posted.
