  1. Ok, these latest pics tie in to what I was thinking about last week's spoilers. To me, it looked like Emma was getting ready to leave town. For some reason, I'm okay with that.
  2. I'm looking forward to our Arthur, too! From the BTS stuff, I just get a good feeling about him. I don't consider myself an expert of the King Arthur legend at all, but I'm an English/Medieval HIstory Major and general Anglophile, so for me, "Excalibur" is the one to beat. If A&E are leaning towards that version of Camelot (even condensed, seeing as there's no Morgana), I'm fine with it. Weird thought. What if they go with the Monty Python version? Knights dancing on tables? I'm totally there.
  3. Brand is okay as Hook. I've seen a lot of those photos before, and I think they're beautiful, but this bothered me: "Jack Black, Will Ferrell, and Jason Segel as the Three Ghosts If these were the three ghosts that visited me on Christmas Eve, I would be laughing rather than repenting. The three hilarious comedians took on uncharacteristically somber characters from "A Christmas Carol," but of course threw in some humor." Arrrgggh! I hate clickbait writers. They're the Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion, you dolt! Sorry, I'm in a mood today. Work stuff.
  4. My white Hook quote tee arrived the other day. It's lovely, but they do run a little small. I forgot, if you're on the busty side, graphic tees can be a little tricky. I'll be wearing mine with a black blazer. :)
  5. I don't know what it is, but Charlie Hunnam does nothing for me. And while I like Guy Ritchie, I take issue with this. "Luke Skywalker was always the most uninteresting character in Star Wars because he’s the good guy." Who says? Yeah, everyone loves Han, but once he stopped being a whiny teen Luke kicked ass. Hmph.
  6. I love my bangs! I've had them for about 5 years, sometimes longish and fringy (think Florence Welch), and sometimes really short & blunt (think Bettie Page). I have a cowlick right there, so I know what you're talking about. You might have to work with them so they lay how you want them, but don't use any product on them. I also run a flat iron over them quickly when they won't behave.
  7. Ah yes, I remember Fandom Wank and HP wars. Lord of the Rings generated some popcorn-worthy wank too.. To bring this back on topic, I honestly think it wasn't as bad as SQ vs everyone else.
  8. Ok, it's been a week, but I was finally able to watch the Nerd HQ Mystery Panel. Warning: this may need to be moved to the Hearts and Unicorn Stickers thread. Once again, I'm reminded of what a funny, smart, talented cast we have here. Highlights: Flynn Rider and Captain Hook on the same stage. I mean, come on Colin being more talkative and adorable than I've ever seen him Colin's wedding band story; as a veteran of Irish Catholic weddings, I feel his pain. Jen's film-making advice to the fan Josh being adorable and snarky "You work hard, Jennifer...Buy the baaaag!". Overall, this panel shows how well those three know and like each other. I love them. I'm a dork.
  9. Yep! I like his own style, it completely changes his look.
  10. I'm going to say it now, and chalk it up to head canon or whatever, but I think they have been intimate already; Look at their body language from 3B to 4B. The sexual tension has eased off, and Hook and Emma have a comfortable familiarity with each other. It's been over 6 weeks, after all. In fact, sex isn't even on the table in 4B, it's trust and seeing the best in each other. So, I don't have a lot of problem with DOEmma and Hook getting together, other than I'm sure certain fandoms will use it to further their agenda against Hook. But you know what? It's not about them.
  11. Dooo eeet. If we ever have a get together, we're going to need these shirts (I'll bring the shrimp tacos). I'm getting the quote one.
  12. Woah, Colin Jost sporting some summer hiatus hair + radio interview.
  13. I'm sure this has been brought up before, but going by their logic, if Hook was the one being consumed by the darkness, would SQers see her making the sacrifice for him? Somehow, I doubt that.
  14. Looks like Hot Topic also has the Hooked tank, but I like the one with the quote better. That reminds me, I had a completely random but brilliant idea: I've been thinking of ripping off those Ryan Gosling "Hey Girl memes and making Captain Hook notebooks with a little inspirational quote on each page. Brilliant, right?
  15. By the way, I'm digging the Spoilers Only thread. It's a great way to get caught up. I love that everyone is in Camelot, and I think there's a lot of potential for more than one adventure going on, but hopefully it will all be tied together. And maybe it's just wishful thinking, but Hook seems to be front and center in a lot of the BTS group shots. Could he be taking on more of a leadership role?
  16. This tired, overworked web producer thought maybe Amazon's tired, overworked web producer made an oopsie on the price. (Funny enough, Amazon's head of global innovations was my Vice President for three consecutive Black Fridays. I'm pretty sure the Prime Day was his idea). That said, I got me a Hook and Emma as well. Still deciding on Snow and Charming, but I'll probably cave and get them
  17. I am so with you. This season didn't start off all that bad for me, but it's steadily gone downhill. The episode with his niece was just stupid, and he pretty much lost me with this last episode. Agree about the lazy, cliched writing. I did some live comedy when I was in my early 20s, and while I liked hanging out with some of the comics at the clubs, I can't think of any I wanted to have sex with, unless I was blind drunk. Even now, I don't know many 24-year-olds who would want to have sex with Louie or Marc. I also have to watch next week for Patton Oswalt.
  18. I went to see Ted 2 today, and Kate, Bobby and Taran have a little cameo in it that I enjoyed.
  19. I searched, and there is! Not a lot, but..yay! That's funny, because I didn't get my Master's at University College London, because a) I ran out of funding and b) I didn't like the thesis topic I was assigned, which was about online sports communities. Maybe I need to go back. Exactly, I'm a fan of YNB because of Community and the fact that she's a huge OUAT fangirl, but she's completely in the right about this. And from some of the responses I saw, SQ fans were insulted by the hashtag, so their replies came off to me is as "whaaa, you hurt my feelings". Maybe it's because I'm a grown-ass woman, but if a stranger on Twitter hurts your poor widdle feelings, you're lucky that's your biggest problem in life. I really think some of the more rational SwanQueen shippers need to police the bad apples. Every time things blow up, I see the same Twitter accounts spotlighted. IMO, that Kyle guy is the worst. To refer back to an old meme, Stop helping! You're making our side look bad!
  20. You know, I think I'm starting to become morbidly fascinated by these fans. I've been in and around online fandoms for a long time, and I've never seen such an interesting mix of self-victimization, entitlement and bullying. It's like every argument can be summed up as, "How dare you trigger my anxieties, you homophobic rapist, now make my ship canon!!!" Seriously, if they want to enjoy SwanQueen and read fanfic, what's stopping them? Like I can enjoy CaptainCharming smut if I want (not that I'm interested, but..is there any out there?) ;) I'm starting to wish I actually got my Master's in Digital Communications, because this would make a juicy thesis.
  21. Ha! Come on over! I just realized I might need to whip up some beer-garitas to go with dinner. There are still doughnuts left, and if there are any left tomorrow, I'll go into the office for the sole purpose of giving them away. That's how I buy my co-workers' love. :)
  22. I feel ya, Shanna Marie. My friend isn't technically a bad guy, and he would try to pay me back for stuff when he could. Like, if I got dinner one night, he'd try and pick up the check the next time or the time after that. And we've had a lot of fun together too, but as long as it's a few hours at a time. It's just that surrogate girlfriend thing that bugged me, because the things we have in common seem to be very shallow things like liking the same kinds of music. And unfortunately, he has no handyman skills. Unless I wanted an album burned to disc (which I could do myself) he's a bit useless, bless his heart. Last time we did hang out together, we went to see Joan Jett at the NC State Fair. Now, if had just been the concert, it would have been fine, but he wanted to make a day of it. So, we were there for about 8 hours, but since he didn't want to ride any rides or play games, the day was me primarily suggesting exhibits to see while he talked about his dating woes. I think that was it for me. I needed a break from him. On a separate note, recently I've started working primarily from home. Our current home office is being shut down and while some people are relocating to the parent offices in New York, a lot of people have left the company. Since I'm a web producer, pretty much all of my job can be done remotely. Initially I planned to spend every lunch hour on the treadmill and making healthy salads, but after the first month, I realized that my lunch was mainly PB&J and nachos, and the only exercise I was getting was doing the laundry, So now I've made it a point to spend some time in the kitchen making healthy meals, or at least meals that didn't come out of a box or a jar. And I have to say I'm feeling like a real domestic goddess. This morning I made mini cinnamon doughnuts from scratch, and tonight's menu is shrimp tacos with slaw and avocado llme crema and chia chocolate pudding for dessert. Exercise is on next on the agenda, but baby steps first.
  23. It also says a lot when even guest stars rave about how much fun they've had working on the show and how well the main cast treated them. They're like a big goofy family that plays dress up together.
  24. Oh boy, your story reminds me a little of my platonic male friend. We've known each other for years, but I began to realize that he was treating me like a surrogate girlfriend, meaning, someone who'll go to concerts or movies with him and someone he feels he can sponge a free meal off of when he's broke. which is always. He's in his 40s and keeps getting fired from food delivery jobs and he refuses to do any kind of job because he considers himself an "arteest" (he deejays once in a while and hosts a weekly radio show on the community radio station). OH! And then he wonders why he can't get a real girlfriend! Eventually, every time we hung out, he would tick me off. I even can't talk about the Tom Petty concert last year, or it'll wind me up all over again. I finally had enough and decided I didn't want to hang out with him anymore. I think he now he realizes what an awesome friend I was because he'll occasionally message me about hanging out and missing me. Sorry pal. I'll call you when I miss you back.
