  1. Reverse grip doesn't mean holding the blades point down.
  2. At least we finally saw Ahsoka's classic reverse grip on the light saber this battle. All series long during every fight all I could see/think is "that not how Ahsoka holds her blades."
  3. Reminds me of the TV series Manhattan that aired on WGN America back in 2014. I do get a wee bit tired of seeing Cillian Murphy in Nolan's films though.
  4. I agree. Twilight Zone or Cabinet of Curiosities that I recently watched. I really haven't like many of the shows this season, it veered more toward horror instead of technology/futuristic. Plus so many episodes had loooong drawn out scenes that never seemed to end, and some very dark lighting that made it difficult to watch.
  5. The only episode I liked out of an extremely boring season. Salma Hayek saying "Fuck Cate Blanchett" with suck vigor made me laugh.
  6. Watched this last night. It was ok in my opinion. Nothing really made me laugh out loud, I would say I always had a wry smile on my face though. Small things like Dr Demento always being in his top hat, the Eat It song being an original and how furious Al got when he thought Michael Jackson parodied it, Madonna becoming a drug lord because it was all just "business", all the celebs at Demento's pool party. Jack Black as Wolfman Jack was a good casting since I used to listen to Wolfman, but whomever they had do PeeWee Herman was waaay too short. At times I had to remind myself that this was a parody of Al's life when things go a little over the top. I personally think UHF was a better movie, so many LOL moments in the one.
  7. I watched it this weekend on MAX and agree with most of what you stated here, it was my major complaint about the first movie. The first movie would have been a ton better if this didn't occur there. I like Levi and think he is a good actor. But I blame the script for both movies as well as direction. They seem to have wanted Levi to play it this way which is wrong. They do make a passing joke in this movie of "So much for the Wisdom of Soloman..." Jerry O'Connell did way better with the voice acting on the JLU with the occasional "golly" "gee" and such when he spoke.
  8. Good to know, I look forward to watching the tv series again, I enjoyed it when it first ran.
  9. I thought this scene was for more for Edgin's promise to Xenk that he would return the gold to the people and that his group would not keep all the treasure. So it was more threefold in it's purpose. Give the spoils to the people, while also spurring them on to flee the area as well as keep Forge from fleeing as he would return for his ill gotten gains.
  10. I thought the reveal that Edgin actually stole a piece of the red wizard gold which led them to come after his family and that it was indeed all of his fault was a slight twist. Sorry you found it so predictable, that can definitely lessen a movie in ones eyes.
  11. In the minority since lots of folks here seem to be ohhh Lizzo, ahhh droid bar. Didn't care for Lizzo (don't know who she is) nor her "acting" and the droid bar to me was a big WTF?!? Star Wars droids have all shown to have distinct personalities for sure, but that bar reeked too much of sentient life. Since when do droids congregate together, much less express a "we don't mind being your slaves and doing the crap work for you." ?? Random obscure laws on the planet to forbid them from using the Mandalorian force already at their beck and call was just dumb. The claiming of the Dark Saber went pretty much by rote, since once Bo had freed Din in the prior episode it only made logical sense. Guess all episodes can't be winners, and this was at least far better than any 1st half episodes of BoBF.
  12. A really enjoyable movie. The story properly zigged when I thought it would zag. My favorite easter egg was seeing the crew from the Dungeons & Dragons (TV series) as another group within the maze (they were in the cage). The displacer beast was cool as was the mimic treasure chest, and I really liked all the wild shapes from the druid. Everyone had a moment to shine. Having read all the Forgotten Realm novels it was also cool to hear all the locations and names that brought back memories from those books.
  13. These last 3 episodes were pretty damn good. Lots of characters getting their big hero moment. Grog during the Kevdak fight, Vax getting his wings, Scanlan killing the dragon. I was also really impressed with the transition of Gina/Cree voice for the Raishan reveal. A lot that happened at the table come across really well animated.
  14. @PurpleTentacle I didn't know how to quote just a spoiler/hidden content, but I wholeheartedly agree with the last spoiler one in your latest post.
  15. I agree. It always seemed, to me, the Vax/Kiki romance felt forced, whereas Percy/Vex seemed more natural. In later games during C1 when Liam would say things like "I fly (this way) past my girlfriend and kiss her on the cheek" ....it was like...are you 12? His way of expressing his "love" always came across as childish and forced. Like he was trying to tell the watchers this was an "epic" love story or something. I never had a problem with Keyleth and her power up moments in the series are some of the scenes where I always get choked up a bit, like the end of S1 when she summons sunlight and in this season when she becomes the fire elemental. The character I always had an issue with in C1 (besides Tiberius for obvious reasons) was Vax. I like Liam, I've like other characters he's played in one shots and such. Loved Caleb C2, find Orym to be extremely bland and one note in C3 though. I started watching CR with C2, when the pandemic hit and they had to go on hiatus is when I watched C1, so I have more of a fondness for C2 and was excited that they will get an animated series as well.
  16. Agreed and I can usually follow plot lines fairly well. Toward mid-season when you find out it is a simulation it totally negates any of the following death scenes having any emotional impact. This final episode frustrates because imho nothing is resolved. Maura: "My father is experimenting on us this isn't real, it's a simulation, he is the creator" Maura's Father: "I'm not doing this, your mother and father are doing this, don't trust them. Your mother is the creator of this simulated reality and looping" Daniel: "I reprogrammed everything so you could use your wedding ring to wake up from the simulation, beware your bother for he is the creator ( a character we never met)" Maura awakens from stasis on a space ship in 2099 ala Dark City, and still nothing is resolved.
  17. I cracked up so much at "inappropriately touching your clone is still sexual harassment and not masturbating"
  18. I just found this on Netflix and have been watching for the past week and find it really enjoyable. Just finished the Hive reunion episode. One thing for me is the voice actor for Reagan when she speaks I can't help but hear Paget Brewster narrating an episode of Drunk History half the time.
  19. Galen was the head engineer of the section of the Death Star he was forced to work on. It was only when the cargo pilot escaped with a coded message that Darth Vader threatened Orson Krennec, who in turn found out it was Galen who was the mole and then went to have all his work checked out. I know you are making light in your faux scenario, but I don't know if you've seen Rogue One.
  20. The Death Star wasn't designed with a flaw. Galen Erso added the flaw when he was forced to work on it in Rogue One.
  21. This season is turning out to be a disappointment. I haven't enjoyed a single episode. This one was just awful, no seemed to be able to form a coherent sentence.
  22. Blonsky took multiple doses of the governments super soldier serum. But when they finally captured Bruce, he was with Dr Sterns "Mr Blue" who was looking for a cure for Bruce and had replicated Bruces contaminated blood, to which Blonsky told Sterns I want what he has, give it to me. Sterns response was, "I don't know what you have inside you already, the combination of the two could become an Abomination"
  23. The fact that the movie makers consulted with Wizards of the Coast and Chris Perkins (an icon in the D&D community) just adds so much to this movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGIdeBc4Uyw
  24. This looks like a fun movie, definitely interested in seeing it compared to any other D&D movie released in the last 2 decades. We saw a gelatinous cube, a mimic treasure chest, a black dragon and what I thought was an impressive owl bear including the transformation. Always liked Pine and he seems to be having fun here. I think half the cast of Eight is Enough voiced the characters in that show, but yes that would be a nice Easter Egg if this is the case.
