Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage

I've wondered that as well. I decided that their first "date" was one of those first dates that are "just for coffee," to see if you have any interest. Of course you're right, the second phase of the date would normally be proposed at the coffee shop, not her door LOL. -

Yeah I know someone who was an investment banker or something like that; now he works at Lowes-- it's been great because he can use his employee discount to buy appliances for our church! He's one of those who just likes to get out of the house. I don't think Gerry is scheming, but I do think he really likes the attention and molded his persona to be "good for TV." -

Does anyone actually eat modeling chocolate? It seems like it's usually used to make "sculptures" that are theoretically edible but.... I just don't think it is a good addition to the top of a dessert. From what I saw nobody ate the tops of Thoa's whoopie pies. Ashley so often has a very sour look on her face when there is criticism of her work. She has a very high opinion of herself. -

I see this ad for private jet travel A LOT on a channel I watch, which is not a channel oriented toward very wealthy people, so I really wonder why I keep seeing it. They guy is so damn smug, and somehow signing a business deal is one the "most important moments in your life." And they guy who doesn't have this private jet for hire company looks like such a loser (I know, that's the idea) -
I do get notifications (in the app); In my case I wanted to make a comment on the thread, but it hadn't been commented on in awhile. So it was a little hard to find.

I just started watching (from the beginning) Endeavor on PBS, and "Lucienne" shows up in episode 3 (I think) series 1 and is so instantly recognizable with those cheekbones. I highly recommend it BTW.

(tangent: can anyone tell me how to find this forum since it's not a "show" so it doesn't show up on my home page?)

As a 62 year old woman with (short-ish) gray hair, I find this comment..... odd? A bit insulting? So I'm supposed to dye my hair from it's legitimately natural color, because an unnatural color is "expected"? Doesn't this fall into the same category as botox, face lifts, etc.? Like, fine, if someone does this (as long as it doesn't look ridiculous), but now we're supposed to "fake it"? -

I can think of no good reason why I hate this ad so much, but I hate this ad so much. Maybe it's the idiot woman trying to run in high heels while balancing a dessert ON ONE HAND. Yeah, hilarity ensures, NOT. And of course they get into their Lincoln and all is calm. Because the car is THAT GREAT. -

Oh right! That was ridiculous! -
I just watched the first episode (on PBS/Masterpiece Passport). So great! (I've never seen the series this is a prequel to. i gather it is beloved.)

It was Justine. It struck me as an arrogant thing to say. Go ahead and think it, but for pete's sake don't say it!- 2.4k replies

I noticed that too. I guess Sherrod forgot how big pi is. How on earth do you neglect to figure out how long a piece of fondant you need to wrap your cake? And speaking of fondant, I give negative points to anyone who used that to make their wrapping paper. Not only is it easier, it's essentially inedible.- 2.4k replies

I did wonder, during that montage, whether he was a single dad. I'd guess that his wife just didn't feel like being on TV, for any number of reasons. I might feel that way myself in a similar situation.

It was the *pants* that were perfect for the French tuck. I dunno, I guess they were nicely trim and flat??? -
I'm pretty sure it was real lard. Paul mentioned that the porky taste was part of the appeal.

I don't think this disqualified him. His cake was way better, according to the judges. I didn't like the colors much, but Josh's cake was decorated as I could think I could do, which isn't saying much. And the judges essentially said it had no flavor. So yes, I think it was Josh's to lose, but he lost it.
-
Prue said that Matty's cake was so light that she was surprised it tilted. I would have thought that a very light cake (Matty even mentioned that this was a risk) would be *more* likely to not support itself.
-
Can anyone explain to me why they called Dan's burnt Lardy Cake a "King Alfred"? I was surprised that Prue said she loved Matty's cake's colors. I *really* didn't like it-- I thought the pale pastels on the frosting didn't mesh well with the bright fruits on top. But what do I know. As soon as Paul said that Josh's cake was (near to) "boring" I knew that Matty would win. I mean, how can a boring showstopper end up winning, after the judges RAVED over the flavor of Matty's? (It was obvious that Dan was out of the running well before then)
