I think there's even a poster from the movie on the wall in his living room.

My husband and I have visited similar islands (Faroe, Orkney, Iceland, though not Shetland) so are used to (and love) that bleak scenery.

So I enjoyed the first episode, and actually didn't really miss Jimmy, to my surprise. It would be very binge-able if we were able to do that! Now I gotta wait a week! And the scenery! It is not just a supporting player! So gorgeous.

I don't see the option. Where do you see it? (please and thank you) never mind; i see it now-- thanks!

Why Why Why doesn't it have closed captioning? I depend on it, particularly for Scottish accents. (I'm watching on Britbox through Amazon)

and she has a random picture of something on her wall, that she probably doesn't even remember why she drew it, and now she has to wear a jacket with that embroidered on it to school? The one with the wood carrier for the dad makes a lot more sense. -

I don't know if they said that explicitly. But if not, why bother to squish it? Like I said, dumb idea. -

They sell roasted chestnuts in NYC in the wintertime as well. Or at least they used to :) They smell good-- but I've never had any. My mom once bought some and roasted some of them. A few days later, after they had eaten them, she saw some worms (wrong word I'm sure) crawling out of the unroasted ones! Anyway, the original Mt Blanc (they've done that on GGBO) is totally unappealing to me. I didn't particularly care for the idea of most of these either. But that would defeat the whole idea of a "transformation" LOL. It was a totally dumb idea all around. -

it was also a VERY hamfisted tie-in the movie Wonka. I mean, Wonka makes things fly, so you make the cake fly ...... upside down????- 2.4k replies

I've heard it called a french tuck. You sort of tuck the shirt in near the button (center) but leave it loose everywhere else. -

I find Timothee appealing, and I like the song a lot, so I like the ad, but it is odd. (I also liked him in Little Women and Dune). But to me, he sits near the "androgynous" end of the spectrum, so I find the football placement odd. Hearing about the Kardashian connection, I will have to rethink my opinion :) -

speaking of which, did they have any proof that those two were a "robbery in progress"? They hadn't touched the tourists at the ATM yet, right? Just wondering how they were going to press charges.
-
so the low level crooks hanging around Hollywood all day are not going to notice two cute young women walking up and down the street all day, taking selfies, and then DOING IT AGAIN THE NEXT DAY????
-
and like Meryl Streep in Devil Wears Prada, she's not afraid to answer the door to Harry w/o (obvious) makeup.

not just you. I've now seen it approximately 300 times, so I've learned all the words. But it's a fail on the get-your-message-across-easily front. -
Dan’s millefoglie was tiramisu-inspired, with layers of coffee, chocolate and an amaretto mousse, in the shape of an electric guitar in honour of the Sam Fender concert he missed competing in Bake Off.

A big thing I noticed this episode (I skipped a few) was that Teresa's face seemed a lot more "normal" than in the beginning. Something changed. However she's still crap at putting on lipstick. -

I have long thought he was destined to choose Teresa. I was just distressed that he said several phrases to Leslie that mean, if he does choose Teresa, it's going to come as a gut punch to her. I agree that the editing is meant to lead us the other way, but agree that usually this is "telling us something." -

I've only watched the first third or so of this episode, but I got the feeling that Gerry is feeling that whatever he has with Leslie, and vice versa, is more infatuation than real. He made some kind of comment about "rose colored glasses." I haven't seen how the day goes with Teresa, but I also think she has the edge as a more real connection. -

I keep seeing a Verizon commercial that I'm not sure I understand. It's a bunch of carolers at the front door. Apparently the husband paid them to influence the wife to buy him a new iphone, I think???? But she says Verizon is a much better deal. So I *guess* you get the new iphone through a Verizon trade in? It's just not really easy to understand. Give your message in words, not high singing voices! -
where is it streaming?

I think Dan got a nudge (a la Project Runway) due to "which person do we want to see more from?" He's been more ambitious and "interesting" with his flavors than Christie.
