  1. Isn't Bloom missing because the actress was expecting a baby during filming? I'm bingeing the whole season, but think I've reached a point that I'll just watch the final and let it go.
  2. Back to the Urquhart business card: there was a phone number written in invisible ink on the back. Turned out to be Mr. Karim who finally answered when he got home from Lahore.
  3. You're right. I use my iPad exclusively for the social/fun stuff online. The laptop is for business. In the former version, the date of the most recent post was visible in the topic listings. I can live without it. File it under First World Problems. Thanks for checking into it. Shannon
  4. Why are so many people backing into a parking spot in a well-striped lot? The seconds that maneuver saves when you leave does not make up for the time I have sat here waiting for you to back in.
  5. Is there any rhyme or reason that the date a topic was started shows up in the listing and not the date of the most recent response, as it was previously?
  6. I've never heard "Crowbar Hotel" but "Graybar Hotel" comes up every now and then, mostly with the crusty older guys who have spent a number of years in the system in a number of states.
  7. I don't think the family is aware that Kate even has a friend named Madison. They know about her problems getting pregnant, that she delivers singing telegrams for a living, that she doesn't have much of a life. They never have substantial conversations with her. Compared to her brothers, she exists to applaud their accomplishments but isn't expected to have a life that includes people they don't know.
  8. Inquiring minds want to know: why does it take at least three hours for TRMS to be posted to the NBC app when LOD is up and running much earlier, even though his show is after Rachel's?
  9. The best part of the "special report" was the correspondence between GHWBush and Agnew that came to light. The years and years of chummy contact makes me ill. The "how did this become a thing?" about the president not being indictable was interesting too.
  10. That IMDb app is phenomenal and Fringe is amazing. I was a fan of Lost back in the day, even when the storylines were as convoluted and crazy. When I saw J. J. Abrams' name on this, I was intrigued. I'm still in Season One, but I've gone and looked at other sources. Snowed in for a week? Who cares. I found a new show to watch.
  11. My nitpick of the week: opening sequence has Meredith with her hair all French-braided. Next scene, waiting for the ambulance to arrive, it's down and loose. Even though it is the very same shift of the very same day. Which says much more about my caring for any other drama during this episode.
  12. The priest's insistence that he couldn't baptize because of his own sin? That heresy was dealt with centuries earlier. The sacraments are about God's action and do not depend on the goodness of the one who performs the ritual. Beyond that, MsLark is right: anyone can baptize, though given the times and the Mohawk social rules, the priest wasn't just anybody.
  13. I liked it. It was over too soon and I'm waiting to see if there will be more.
  14. I watched the whole thing over the holiday weekend. Loved the people who showed up as themselves and went with the fun. I found I was impatient by episode 6 by how peripheral the women were in the story. If there's a second season, I hope we'll see these two men more fully developed and less like cartoons.
  15. Chris Hayes has a great interview with Rachel on his podcast, "Why Is This Happening?" https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/msnbc/why-is-this-happening
  16. This episode had all the hallmarks of "Whoops! We've overspent the budget already. Give the stars the week off and we'll take this cheaper detour here." Ugh.
  17. I'm annoyed by the timeline. The driver of the car has spent two years incarcerated, so Laura has been dead for at least two and a half years. Yet the conversations kept saying she'd been gone two years. George uprooted the family and moved rather quickly in the first season. Was there ever any mention then about the court case? Both George and Shay have run through a number of "significant others" in this timeline, without much serious reflection, no matter how much time George spends on his surfboard. Katie conveniently forgets she has a son in her rush to move in with George. At this stage of the game, there could have been characters developed beyond the cartoon stage, but I think the word went out to wrap it up. Katie (Anna Julienne) can be seen in "The Blue Rose." Totally different character.
  18. I've been watching Rachel on the NBC News app since I cut the cable a year ago. The handoff to LOD is never included. I feel robbed.
  19. I watched this on Netflix this week. For some reason I thought it was a Netflix original series. Loved the premise, but the timeline was so screwy. No one gets a loan, buys a building (with no adequate inspection), refurbishes the place, and then opens on Friday night, and all without checking in with the probation officer. I think I was expecting someone to wake up from the dream sequence finally. No second season? I'm not surprised.
  20. I'm done with anything Woody on this show. And while George as fish-out-of-water worked for the first season, he is now so busy trying to please everyone that he has lost himseof.
  21. So we're losing April, Arizona, Alex, and Jo? Who will run Pediatrics?
  22. Can I just say how frustrated I am with the PBS editing of this show? This article describes small moments that enrich the characters and the story, and US watchers get cheated.
  23. I liked Henry in the earlier seasons when he could talk about religion and ethics with nuance. Helping people understand background, creating context so those in charge of serious weapons would know beyond black and white, all of that was interesting. And it provided some background for how Elizabeth thinks and does her job.
  24. Am I the only one distracted by how much George looks like Kiefer Sutherland? Clearly having a better day, but still!
