  1. So, my husband and I have decided to begin the process for buying a house. We went to an open house yesterday to kind of get our toes wet, and the realtor actually said "it's been updated with stainless steel appliances..." My eyes rolled so hard, especially because the fridge? Wasn't stainless. It was one of those kind with the shiny front and an obviously painted silver sides/back. I wonder how many people on HH are actually looking at stainless... Thankfully, he agrees with me on having an enclosed kitchen/defined spaces and hardwood/laminate flooring. I just hate vacuuming, especially on the stairs, haha. I have promised myself, however, I will NOT turn into one of *those* house hunters...
  2. I wonder if Jackson's new faith journey will continue to be explored, and if so, will it effect him and Maggie? Will it turn into Japril redux, only with Jackson being in the April position?
  3. Actually, the situation I was referring to was that one person would lose insurance/healthcare if they *were* legally married. It was a weird situation, but there was a legitimate reason why they couldn't be legally married.
  4. What a difference from last year's inferno drama of a season finale! That was a really nice, fun episode, and it was a refreshing change to have that as a season finale. I loved Jo & Alex getting locked in the shed (very sitcom cliche, but I don't care, it was fun!) and finding the skeleton. I hope someone tracked down and notified his family! Bailey going to help the mother of bride reminded me of her doing surgery on her own wedding day. :) I love the feeling of movement - Bailey taking a sabbatical, Jo & Alex potentially headed to Mass, Meredith moving forward with her life, Arizona and April's new life directions. There was no big "OH MY GOD" cliffhanger, but I am intrigued to see what the show will look like next season. Nope. There is a three day waiting period so they will have to get a marriage license, wait three days, and have another ceremony. Not sure if this applies in WA, but when I got married in NH, all you needed was the license to be signed by the officiant, and you were legally married. Even if they have to get the license, and wait 3 days, they'd just need to do a quick civil ceremony. They will be legally married in a week. I also know of people who get "married" without it being a legal civil union, for insurance issues, etc. In their hearts, they are married. The legal stuff can come later.
  5. This has actually inspired me to start using Twitter again, lol! They need to say something soon!!
  6. Bit late to this, but my husband I *loved* Nerve. Such a fun movie, and she was great!
  7. Not sure if this is the right place for this, but there has been a lot of discussion about why they brought Granddaddy Rittenhouse back. I wonder if it was part of his manifesto or something that stated if he dies before time travel is possible, they are to go back for him. Or something. Not that he would know he was going to die on that battlefield and not an old man, but it makes about as much sense as anything Rittenhouse has done.
  8. People soooo worried about being able to see neighbors. What are they doing that they need so much privacy? I'd rather my neighbors at least know our names/faces in case someone tries to break in when we're not there! I mean, I get not wanting to be close enough to pass sugar through the kitchen windows, but come on. No one cares what you're doing, you're not gonna spy on your neighbors. If you don't want to see other houses, go live in a bunker in the woods. Also, the people who complain about a perfectly sized bedroom being too small. Seriously - you're buying a 2000+square feet house, how much time do you spend in your bedroom? All you need is enough room for a bed, maybe a dresser or 2 and/or nightstands. It doesn't have to be the size of a studio apartment! I was watching on Hulu, and found it utterly refreshing when there was a buyer who didn't want "open concept", bought a house that had a semi-opened kitchen and was determined to add a wall to close it off, and also did not like "en-suite" bathrooms because it reminded her of a hotel room. I loved her. Her boyfriend, Life, however bugged me big time.
  9. I assumed they did IVF with a sperm donor. Most likely carried by her wife, since Denise's job appears to be more demanding. Solid episode. It was bound to happen that they met someone they knew when they were younger. I thought the sleeper would kill Denise's mom from the blocking of that scene, did not see Wyatt and Rufus running him down in the car! I'm really glad they didn't go that route, and that now she and her mom have a better relationship. Now her mom gets to spend time with her grandchildren! :) Loved, loved, loved Jiya's 1981 look. And I loved that she took all the things. Like I said after the Hollywood episode - I would totally be grabbing all the clothes to build the perfect vintage wardrobe. ;) I joked with my husband that the twist in the elevator was that the little old lady was the sleeper. That would have been AMAZING. I really hope this gets renewed! It is such a fun show.
  10. I'm a little fuzzy on the early years, but memory serves that she stayed at the hospital until the big budget cuts right before the Mercy West merger. I remember her asking Derek if she did a bad job, and he told her it was just about money. That was the last we saw of her until now. So, the whole "scandal" around the syphilis had nothing to do with her leaving. Please feel free to correct me if I'm totally wrong.
  11. Really good episode. I turned to Mr. D and told him that Jessica had better be a Rittenhouse plant, otherwise what's the point? She's so boooorrriiing. Then the picture of her popped up. We high fived. :) Interesting backstory on Emma. I also just love how badass she is. When the credits rolled, Mr. D yelled "Is it next Monday yet?!" (we watch the next day on Hulu). We are so invested at this point (Rittenhouse making sense or not) I really hope the show sticks around this time. Side note: I just finished a binge re-watch of Gilmore Girls (including A Year in the Life), and as soon as Lucy and Wyatt entered the meeting place for the Suffragettes, I blurted out "They're on the Luke's diner set!" Mr. D was like "oooookaaaayyy..." hehe...
  12. As a descendent of Zachery Taylor, I am all for this. ;)
  13. Done! I didn't copy what I posted, but did mention how, as an amateur historian, seeing historians and history portrayed in such an interesting way is wonderful. :) Fingers crossed it works.
  14. Yeah, they were pulling a "Marty's siblings slowly disappearing" from Back to the Future.
  15. I'm sure this has been covered, but I'm doing a rewatch, so why not? In the Festival of Living Art, Lorelai wanted to be the Renoir Girl, mostly because she wanted to wear "the pretty, pretty dress". But, the bottom half of the dress was the painting. The costume was a nice, but plain blouse and the hat/makeup. It bugs me every time I watch that episode, haha.
  16. Fascinating! Where did you find this?
  17. I got that. They all reacted to that year and place like it held specific significance, not just that they were assuming that was the case.
  18. I may have missed something, but what was the significance of San Diego 1980? Solid episode, Mr. D and I commented that that should have really messed with the timeline. We do kind of like the general "fuck it" attitude, though. Season 1 Lucy would have left the women to their fates. Season 2 Lucy would have totally saved Lincoln. Looking forward to next week. I'm going to be very sad if this show gets cancelled again. Maybe they can run it as just a yearly summer show?
  19. Mr. D and I think that Jessica was Rittenhouse all along, never actually died, just went back into the fold. It would make her less sympathetic when Wyatt inevitably chooses Lucy over her. Also, because the show has pretty much made us suspicious of anyone. As soon as they started kissing, I blurted out "Dead wife Jessica is TOTALLY showing up at the end of the episode!" Predictable, but I don't care. :) As an amateur film historian mildly obsessed with the story behind Citizen Kane, I was really touched that the showrunners made an episode just for me. :) The only outfit that didn't work for me on Lucy was the last one, but I think it's because there was no styling to go with it. I laughed when they were like "you stole another outfit?" and she replied "it's my favorite era". I turned to Mr. D and said if I had a time machine, I would take ALL the vintage clothes. :) I loved Rufus this week, he continues to be such a treat to watch! His Fresh Prince "poem", his reaction to Lucy and Wyatt. So funny! As far as not giving a shit about saving history anymore goes: Rittenhouse has been altering it quietly for a while now - who knows what's real and what's Rittenhouse anymore? So, why the hell not? Jiya has kind of a "The Age of Adeline" thing going, we think. She is getting funky visions and is totally healthy - she is "outside of time", and will now never age or die. I know the visions aren't from that movie, but the idea of never getting sick or aging is a possibility. ETA: I think Lucy does her hair and makeup before they leave, so she just has to worry about clothes. Might explain why she wasn't done up at all on the second day - she didn't pack anything. (Not that she couldn't have used some of Hedy's makeup or hair stuff...)
  20. You see it a lot in movies, too. Cinematographers/camera people like it - it looks better for some reason.
  21. I was kind of hoping that when Ivy kissed Henry, that would break the spell...
  22. Am I the only one who thought Rebecca was going to give Kate her necklace? A way to honor Jack but still move on? It would have been a nice moment for both of them.
  23. She also uses "cool" and "amazing" way too much. Obsessed, too. "I'm totally obsessed with these cabinets". "The buyers will be obsessed with it". UGH.

    Season 1

I don't think Sookie's bag of drugs was implying she was a "druggie", but was in line with the "Sookie is clumsy and hurts herself a lot" plotline, Of course she would have a bag full of meds - she was probably on a first name basis with everyone at the Emergency Room as well as her local pharmacy...
  25. Eh, never mind, nothing to see here...
