As I’ve not read the books, can anyone who has advise if Ian still had the Mohawk hairstyle at this point, and if so whether it was explained why? It seems rather odd that he is holding onto that part of his life, particularly now he is married, so I’m wondering if there is an explanation that hasn’t been covered in the show.

On the accent, I did wonder when the Christie’s met Claire, Brianna and Roger why they (or no one) ever asks why Brianna has an American accent given her mother is English and her father is Scottish and it is known they all came to America within the last few years. Brianna adopting an accent more similar to her family when they went back in time may have made more sense, and an opportunity to revert to actress’s own accent

While I agree Bill throwing shade is ridiculous I’m just enjoying having him back on my TV screen. Between DD and SK, my soap opera crush level is on maximum overload. And it was only when $Bill and Liam were speaking about Beth that I realised that her grandparents are $Bill, Deacon, and Brooke. That’s some gene pool! If she doesn’t turn out to be the swaggiest most stunning kid ever, it’s a crime. Just need to ensure Hope keeps up with the Sharpe swagger she’s suddenly discovered. Oh, and work out how to keep her away from her mind-numbingly dull father… -
The viewer interest in this story if it goes through to June 😳

Where is DD/Bill? At this point the only thing that may save this awful Eric has ED storyline is Dollar Bill’s snark at discovering the shit show that is currently going down -

True @Anna Yolei, Nick definitely came close to being a true Bridge challenge, particularly in the early days. I guess I’m remembering a lot of his jealousy towards the end though. Plus his subsequent merry go round with Bridget, not to mention Katie and Taylor just killed any Brick affection I’d ever had. It’s also likely my own personal bias that I view Bill as the biggest threat to Bridge. I love what Don Diamont and Bill have brought to Bold, and that Brill have managed to continue to show a connection even a friendship of sorts whether together or apart. I think that’s also partly down to the KKL/DD chemistry. And as @nkotb points out - Bill is hotter than the sun! Although I agree Ashley Jones was only used sparingly, I thought she did a good job reacting to the situation. She had a good mix of here-we-go-again skepticism towards what Brooke was saying, and not really any shock, which made sense given what she went through with Brooke. And Quinn and Steffy’s reactions were entertaining as hell. Popcorn, anyone? 🍿 -

I actually agree with both of you. OG Ridge’s ego was large enough for him to get past all of Brooke’s dramas because he ultimately believed he was her destiny, and that no man would ever match up to him. And even though he was an ass, he appreciated and loved her spirit - he knew she was more than his match and liked it that way. This incarnation of Ridge is definitely more of an ass, but also seems to have a much more fragile ego, and so prefers fawning women who are more submissive. On top of that, Bill is definitely more than Ridge’s equal in a way that none of his family rivals (Eric, Thorne, Nick) were. Bill more than matches him in “ladies man” reputation and business success. And he’s not hamstrung by wanting to have a relationship with Ridge as Eric, Thorne and Nick did for the most part. So the lack of family ties goes both ways - Bill openly loathes Ridge and is more than happy to call him out on his crap. Of course he’s also Brooke’s stallion - so maybe Ridge secretly realises Bill is way hotter than he is 😂 -

Chad’s “it’s Valentines Day” explanation for not exposing Ben was all sorts of lazy writing. If my memory serves me correctly, the last time we saw Ben and Chad together they’d teamed up to find Ciara and Charlotte when Jordan had kidnapped them, so he could have referenced that as some kind of “I hate you but you helped out” tit for tat. Or he could have TOLD CIARA HER MOM WAS PRINCESS GINA and that, you know, maybe she other issues to deal with besides Ben. I’m so disappointed that it looks like Lani will “win”. It would have been so much better if Gabi had decided to let her scheming go when the pacemaker got changed. Then when Lani confronted her she could be all like “what damn app, are you cray cray?” After all, as far as she is aware, Lani is a nun and gone now, and therefore would have no idea that Julie’s pacemaker needed changing. So her insistence on getting control of the new one makes no damn sense anyway. -
Thank goodness it was a fake out - too many good legacy characters to waste. I am loving that they are using the flashbacks, even though the actors have changed. It’s fun to see the original stories again. And I personally feel more respected as a long term viewer to see flashbacks with different actors rather than being subjected to crappy recreated flashbacks like we were given on the main show a couple of times in recent years when actors changed. I hope they consider carrying that through to DOOL itself

Has anyone watched the first episode of the Last Blast reunion yet? Everyone and everything looked fabulous and it’s set up for some good soapy messiness. I definitely enjoyed it - particularly the ending. I didn’t think it was possible but JKJ may have gotten even better with age. It made me realise that they need him back in Salem as a leading man.

Even though I was a huge Stayla fan back with their original run, I kinda checked out on them years ago what with Steve’s long absences and Kayla’s turning into a doormat. But that was such a huge WTF for me too. He skips his beloved sister’s funeral and you don’t hear from him so you initiate a DIVORCE? Given his history and the fact you live in Salem, you don’t, I don’t know, assume he has been kidnapped, brainwashed, possessed by his never-before-mentioned evil twin, or died and rose from the dead without his memory?!? And you don’t ask his Black Patch PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR partner for help tracking him down. No, send divorce papers, that’ll do it 🙄 -

Same. I used to be a big BF fan but that kinda wained when he’s stories went off the rails and he seemed disinterested. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Chabby coming back - I don’t dislike them as most do here - but so far I’m finding them rather boring and not adding much story wise. Watching someone play virtual chess is about as interesting as listening to Julie say... anything. That aside, I’m generally enjoying most TJ stories. For the first time in forever I’m trying to remain spoiler free, which I suspect is helping. I’m enjoying seeing characters interact with a wider range of the cast - in new sets! So many seemed to have got stuck in bubbles, so JJ/Brady, Xander/Ciara, Ben/Will are Justin/Kayla are refreshing for me even if some of those scenarios are a little forced. It creates a new energy. And man, did WK do a great job with handling the news of Adrienne’s death. -

You’re not alone @bannana. I loved it too and LOLed throughout. Marlena’s “you killed my grandson AGAIN” and Maggie’s dialogue about her lemon bars were highlights for me. I enjoyed the ensemble feel and campiness of it. I’m also with you on the Lani/Gabi storyline. As much as I love me some Gabi, it’s just so full of holes. But CB continues to entertain, and look incredibly fabulous while doing so, thankfully. As @Irlandesa says - her and Eli are so damn pretty, I’m looking forward to it, messy and all -

This is another idea that is better than what the writers have come up with. I’m all for a good soapy story but what’s missing from Days is the fallout and aftermath of those stories. Hope and Ciara went through a ridiculous amount of crap with Bo dying, Ciara’s rape, Hope shooting Stefano and going to prison and the endless Aiden drama, yet they’ve not used any of it since to either explain why that led to Ciara making the boyfriend choices she has, or the ramifications it should have had on their mother/daughter relationship. Instead we get Princess Gina and her ridiculous accent. Sigh. -

Thanks for sharing @CanaryFan98. This is publicity posted by an Australian site as Days and Y&R have just come back to free to air TV in Australia a few weeks ago, after being dropped a few years ago. (It has still been available on cable.) I actually saw the free to air return as a good sign for its longevity although obviously Aus is a small market🤞 -
I enjoy both Ben and Stefan but definitely agree with you that the show is sorely lacking decent characters such as Shawn (and Phillip, IMO) as leading men who drive stories like their parents did 20-30 years ago. I’m fine with (dark) grey characters but we need balance, particularly in the younger generations. Although we have the 80s super couples (or halves of them) around to provide that balance generally, it’s a shame that in most cases their kids are largely occasional players who drop in for big events, whilst we get constantly subjected to made-up alternate children that every new head writer seems compelled to create 🙄 Limiting legacy kids also limits their family relationships. The Brady and Johnson kids relationships with each other was part of what made them interesting and ensured they were more rounded as characters. Ciara and Brady desperately need some sibling honesty, for me Abigail is always more palatable around JJ, and Sonny could definitely benefit from some stories beyond Will and whatever drama is happening in the Kiriakis mansion this week. I loved the super couples but would prefer to see them getting involved in their kids dramas rather having their own via newly-created kids.

I wanted to double-like both of these posts @SANDMAN and @Petunia13 because I feel the same way you do. It’s been so long since there was any humanity in Kristen that for me there is no longer anything that makes her a compelling character to the point that I can’t buy that *even Brady* would be interested in her beyond the physical attraction spoken of in far a too much detail!
