Yeh. She was awful. As a Bo fan, I agree that she is not the daughter I would have expected. To be fair though, he's been out of her life since 2012, except for a brief period of coming back to die. So even without SORASing, that's a big chunk of her formative years that he missed. And unfortunately during that time Hope was getting strangled by her new husband, killing wheelchair-bound mobsters, covering up the murder with her new boyfriend, spending time in jail, and then re-marrying and divorcing. So when you add that to Ciara's rape and her beloved father dying, I get she should be screwed up and possibly not the most stable character. The problem is, with all that history to mine, they have not done it. Instead they have gone with a fairly straightforward love story - albeit with a serial killer. What is as annoying is that I get the feeling the writers expect us to like Ciara regardless, presumably just because she is the child of supercouple (Abigail, anyone?) rather than play those beats that would explain why she can regularly be an obnoxious piece of work. But there I go again, expecting nuanced writing...

I usually find VK to be a pretty decent actor, but I definitely agree with you on the sneering. That could be dialed back a notch or 20. And the writing for Ciara is really crappy. I could not believe she said "Jordan? Who gives a damn what she thinks?" Seriously? That was unbelievably obnoxious, even for an entitled Horton princess. She's his MOTHER! Who gives a damn what YOU think?

Yep, it’s a dumb comparison. Especially given that, as a Brady, Bo wasn’t even really “wrong side of the tracks”. Ben and Bo have brown hair and short names starting with “B”. And they have a thing for the “entitled Horton princess” type. That’s about it for the comparison. A better comparison would have been Victor himself. He was no SK - he had others do his dirty work - but he sure was an evil SOB back in the day. comparing his and Caroline’s relationship would have made more sense. That would require more nuanced writing though. So, yeh, na.

I also enjoyed the Sarah and Xander scenes. I’m not a fan of his “puppy dog eyes” but felt like there was less of that today and more good solid advice, which helped. What I equally liked was that it put an end to the “will she or won’t she tell him” fake drama scenes with Eric. Seriously, if they had had a great love story whilst Nicole was “dead” I’d get it, but it was an excruciating long and boring build up to a couple of rolls in the hay on the rebound. It was bad enough when it happened, how long do we need to be tortured with the fallout from it? I’m hopeful that the focus becomes more Sarah and Xander than Sarah as the Ericole interloper, but I doubt it. Mainly because Eric’s “Nothing will ever come between us again” line means that Sarah and baby will be coming between them real quick. 🙄

I’m disappointed BB is leaving, as I’ve enjoyed him and his run. Does anyone know what that means for SH as Kristen? Is she still on contract or also exiting? SH is doing a good job in the role, but I can’t say I’d miss the character. I prefer the grey Dimeras to the OTT crazy ones.

I don’t hate Rafe either and like Phillip - well actually I loved JKJ’s Phillip. I miss him so much. But I’m hoping that’s not an unpopular opinion!

Amen to that, and to the comments from @Happytobehere on Sarah as well. I really hope that this becomes more about Xarah getting close, because honestly I do not see how Sarah being pregnant is an obstacle to Ericole, nor should it be. Eric has made it clear to everyone all along that Nicole is his first choice so a baby shouldn’t change that. Being together for the sake of a baby was old 20 years ago. And the never ending tears are not winning me over to a Sarah/Eric romance either. Please make it stop already. 😫

Fair point LOL. I’d be thrilled if Xander was in the running. Heck, I’d be ok with Rex as well but assume it won’t be. To me, Xarah would be more interesting as a potential couple but it felt like foreshadowing when she told Kayla that one of the reasons she won’t fight Nicole for Eric is for Holly’s sake. I get the feeling Sarah wants it to be Eric’s and so that’s why she is convinced it can only be his.

I’m assuming it is Eric’s because if it is Rex’s there is no real drama, with him off the canvas. I also would have much preferred if Xander as a possible father was in the mix. As it is, I see there being some angst but realistically why would Eric leave Nicole? He loves her and Holly and could still co-parent with Sarah without being with her.

In the aftermath Claire kidnapping Ciara, there were spoilers and a pic released of Ciara and Victor, which never aired. The only thing I can think of is that there were some beats to the story that were planned but we didn’t see. Cause otherwise I agree that the whole conversation around underestimation was a huge WTH.

It is pretty random. She was studying at one point but otherwise I don’t recall her expressing interest in any career. She desperately needs something though, so I’m willing to overlook the WTH of it all. And the Kiriakis side of her family is way cooler for her to be involved with. Glad to hear it @DanaMB! 😁👊 I also laughed a lot during those scenes today - they were entertaining and fun. I love JA and everyone seems to get better around him. His response when Ben called him “Gramps” was priceless - nod of the head, he’s done.

Yes to all of this, especially the wardrobe critique. I’m constantly surprised at how Kate/LK manages to pull off “un-matchy” (love that description @peachmangosteen 😁). It shouldn’t work but LK always seems to manage to make it somehow.

I can’t see why they would center it around Ben. He hasn’t been the lead story to date since his return and tends to be either liked or loathed, so it would be super-risky to base a reboot on such a divisive character. I wonder whether the 8 months timing is a clue and it’s linked to pregnancies. I read somewhere on Twitter that a load of the women were going to have babies. Wish I could find the source to know how authentic it is though.

Given the tape-ahead schedule even if they do have an escape hatch, it would be a year before they could fix it, right? Given we are 8-9 months ahead and they’d need a few months to see reaction... so here’s hoping it’s good! 🤞😳

LMAO. Seriously can they stop with the Ben saves someone’s life crap?!? Even as a Ben fan, I’m so over it. We get it, you’re trying to redeem him. But redemption stories are about remorse, conflict, pain and insecurity, not heroism. Having him save more lives than he has taken is not the way to go. It doesn’t work like that... especially when one of those he saved is Julie!

I enjoy Stabi but with BB gone this could be interesting. I quite liked Gabi and Eli their first go round - and Eli as a character has improved a lot since then. IMO, he’s wasted on Lani. Yeah - once Abigail came back from the dead in that ridiculous floppy hat, I hated that triangle. Abigail sucked the life out of it, and BF’s acting. So I really hope Gabi isn’t put back into a Chabby triangle. Given Gabi is not the Horton’s most favorite person, at least with Eli they’d have a storyline to work with. I like Eli, but there is no story with Lani - she is about as interesting as Sarah’s 84-millionth conversation about Eric 😫 And a Gabi/Eli relationship would piss off Julie, Abigail and Lani. I think I love it already!

Yeh, Lani really bugged me today too. Her viewpoint was irrational, which I would understand from one of Julie’s family members given they’d be dealing with shock and grief, but not from Lani, who has never been shown to have any kind of special relationship with Julie. It felt like Lani just wanting to be high and mighty with Gabi - which really bugs given she was the one who slept with both of Gabi’s boyfriends. I did like Stefan supporting Gabi though her. Obviously the Horton moral superiority genes are super powerful - you only need to be engaged into the family for them to take effect. 🙄

I’m hoping they don’t play that card at all. For me, there is no Stefano without Joseph Mascolo and I’d not trust that any story would adequately honor him.

Exactly. They can make sense when a series is ending as a way of closure, but assuming (and hoping) that’s not the intent here, it seems odd. It kinda says to me “we think the stories are crap so this is a hard reboot”. The only way I could see this working is if we jump forward and then find out about the missing year(s), or parts of them, like an unraveling mystery. I guess that has the potential to be interesting and does give flexibility to the writers to retcon more stories down the track, as we didn’t actually see them. But Days already retcons too much for my liking (especially with back from the dead’s) so I’d be concerned to trust any story sticking. That does pose the question though - if we didn’t see it, is it really a retcon?!? I’m confused! 😳

Ben did perform CPR rather high at the neck (I figured it was RSW being respectful) so I though we were in with a chance! 😳😂

That’s a good way of explaining what I reacted to about BB. Although I’ve appreciated certain aspects that both TC and BB have brought to Stefan, they’ve felt like very different interpretations. These scenes were the first time I felt that connection between the two versions. And BB showed he could play darker as well, which I liked seeing.

I enjoyed today's show - lots going on and a good amount of humor in amongst it all. Good to know. I'd never seen RS before and am not sure what to think as yet. She's certainly OTT with her acting choices, which actually worked ok in those scenes for me, given how ridiculous the whole plot is. But honestly, I found it hard to get past the wig. As the lone Ben fan on this board (albeit one who doesn't want him to become some white hat hero), I gotta say that I absolutely loved Julie's "don't kill me" line to him. It cracked me up that even as she is dying she continues to be bossy and critical. So true to character and very funny. I really enjoyed the Stefan/Kate/Gabi scenes, mainly because for me BB played them well - he seemed to be finally channeling his inner Dimera, and had a hint of menace that BB's version hasn't shown much before. "Honey, please get out of the way" was my line of the day. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the three of them together as they battle for control of Dimera - and that decanter of booze that Kate took with her on her way out.

Are there any spoilers that indicate Gina is back for a longer return? I agree the character is of little relevance to the current show. Perhaps she is also only back for Halloween. I sure do hope so. That accent is definitely the stuff of nightmares.

Technically, no. But she (well actually Tony) did kinda do a Salem and us viewers - a favor with that particular death 😉
