  1. @Marigold you may be on to something with Jinger wearing shorts. The disparity in their attire did not make sense. They were there passing tracks, not out for a leisurely stroll.
  2. I'm jaded, I doubt the braid is about baking hygiene, it's the heat. Yep I'm going to hell.
  3. So they can pester people with their bullshit, but Gothard forbid someone gives them their truth. Entitled, hypocrites, and cowards. Are those part of Gothard's character traits?
  4. Reprogramming? Getting away from the circus? She was a counselor at a point, but still had to share a dorm.
  5. I can live with the messy hair and old clothes, if she started caring for her own children.
  6. He adopted his first wife's bio child, had a bunch of kids with wife 2, then humiliated #2 by leaving her for #3. I hate myself for knowing this.
  7. By supervising our children and not covering up for their molester? What do I know I've never received a MOTY award. ;)
  8. They need to stop posting stupid videos. Skype, call, or text, just stop with the freaking videos.
  9. I think that is a candle. If so, where's his cake? Wil Kline would not stand for no cake.
  10. So Nurie was raised by grifters, associates with other grifters, and wants to marry a grifter. Isn't that special? What a horrible life for the children. The parents bloviate about love, but they are obsessed with their child mill. If they cared about those kids, they would feed them, and provide a good education. As someone upthread said, the kids have serious emotional baggage. My in laws did not want children but felt pressured to deliver a boy and a girl. They were very generous to themselves, but not to my husband. After their divorce it worsened, both very well off, but would not pay for the $500 mouth guard he needed. He had three jobs during his he weekend to pay for his schoool clothing, supplies, and meals. His mother would lie about his age, to buy from the children's menu. He was always a tall kid and it was embarrassing being six feet tall, eating from the children's menu. When we met our daughter she was sixteen months old. He would buy her her own meals. Everyone in our travel group thought he was crazy. But I didn't care, because I know how hurt he was by his second class citizen treatment. So our daughter gets to stuff her little face with what she wants, within reason. She is not big on chicken fingers, mac and cheese, or other kid fare. She orders from the adult menu, and if there are leftovers she has a great breakfast or lunch the next day. I can't imagine what the Rodriguez kids go through. It's shameful. We would love to adopt again, but we have two college trusts to fund. It's not about breeding, kids deserve better. Sorry, it's going to take a while to get off my high horse. :(
  11. Thank you for the suggestion @latetotheparty, we think our daughter will love it there. We took her to the Carlsbad Caverns last year. The elevator was out of order, and she was in such wondrous amazement, the she did not complain once about the hike up. BTW, she is the laziest kid ever, that was something else for her. Maybe Marcus was busy with his side gig as as a human shield.
  12. @GeeGolly I hear you, it's such a dilemma. Some survivors are very private about their experiences. Others can talk about it, hoping to help others. Ironically, Jaycee Dugar, and Elizabeth Smart come to mind. I could never comprehend their pain. FFS Jaycee had two daughters by (can't say with, it was not her choice) her tormentor. Both ladies retreated into privacy, they received help by professionals. When they were ready they told their story, then back to their private lives. No grifting, no it wasn't a big deal interviews. I know Jill and Jessa did not experience the same level of abuse. But it would benefit them to learn class. I'm sure Jaycee and Elizabeh could teach them a lot. I'm going to give myself a time out, because I'm not making sense. I have not given myself a timeout since SBaby was getting 79 page weekly assignment packets in kindergarten. Sorry guys.
  13. I do not fault them for being on TV as minors. But Jill and Jessa did the interview as adults. OK, chronologically they were adults. What upset me was their arrogance about sexual assault not being a big deal. Because Jesus. I also was appalled when Jill claimed social services staff told them what a wonderful job their parents did. Sorry but FUCKING BULLSHIT. I can't see a decent social worker praising parents who colluded to hide sexual assault. Let alone when the "safeguard" was to lock the girls' in their dorm. What about locking Joshley in the AV room? Sorry, I really need to shut up, but their ignorance, and outright arrogance is offensive. I have immense respect for survivors of abuse. I sat with many during their real therapy sessions when they could not bear walking in alone. I saw the pain, fear, the scars they will forever carry. Fuck you Duggars! Rant over.
  14. It's sad that admission is expensive, because it's deliciously snark worthy. We have a goal to visit all 50 states with our 10 year old daughter. It would have been nice to look at the foolishness, along with fundie wear. We would be defrauding all fundies. It's also likely we would be escorted out and banned for life. My husband is a science guy, and began early ed with our daughter. When I informed her of the theory of men alongside dinosaurs, she thought I was joking. When I told her nope, it's taught to kids, and lots of college educated people believe, she laughed her gluteus off. So anything else to do in Kentucky?
  15. I don't think of it as psychologically damaged, but there's definitely an emotional aftermath. Twelve years working with and forensic interviews with foster care/sexually abused children taught me that. It also showed me what children will do to survive situations that would have me curling into a fetal position, and disassociating. Coping mechanisms are as varied and complexed, as the many survivors of abuse.
  16. People are very different in terms of their reaction to trauma. Jessa comes across as stoic, while Jill is a raw nerve. They were both sexually assaulted by their brother, and will forever deal with the emotional aftermath. Thanks to their parents' neglect and further victimization. Jessa and Jill have different personalities, use different coping mechanisms, but are equally traumatized. Also my cynic side thinks Jessa is hyper conscious about the brand, keeping the gravy train chugging along. She is married to a child, and already has two children, with no employment prospects. And still plans to breed till she drops, or her uterus ruptures. Someone has to feed them, and it is not Bin.
  17. I don't even know if PCC is accredited, but unlike the Duggar SILs, at least he is gaining experience, and studying. Not need for backwards hats, and wearing lame ass preachy T-shirts. But like the Duggar SILs same cult , horrible beliefs.
  18. @Churchhoney "full of spurge and Jinger" sounds like something in fan fic. I mean no disrespect, it was just the image I got. Hella funny!
  19. There was a pic of him shirtless with what looked like beads on his head, no tat visible. I read either here or on FJ that he has a tat on his arm. @Sew Sumi is better at recalling those facts.
  20. The 19 have/had a bedtime? I call BS on that one from the many videos and pics they have posted. Poor miracle licker, she'll never get to boss around anyone. And how does JTyler fit in that hierarchy?
  21. Looks like Jeremy and Jinger visited the Duggars, thus avoiding the locust swarming their home. Pickles reported Ken Ham said their visit was not filmed. FWIW and that may not be much.
  22. But after witnessing the special treatment the anointed one received, the pressure is still on poor JD.
