  1. So, I'm fine if Asa (or anyone) wants to be vegan or raw or whatever in their diets, but why does her reasoning have to be so stupid? Also, whooping cough is plenty toxic idiot. There was an outbreak where I lived when I was pregnant and delivered. It was so annoying having people challenge me about the requirement that they have a current vaccination (mom) before visiting my newborn. Hell, even my MIL complied without complaint and she can be difficult otherwise. Maybe it's because she is old enough to remember stuff like mumps and polio.
  2. BOOM! The reason I think she doesn't consider the orgasm discussion private is because it alludes to her being innocent. Kind of, "I'm so pure, I can't even have an orgasm now that I'm married." That still holds up to her self-perception as virtuous. I know female sexual arousal is a complicated thing, but I can't help but wonder at what point does one decide to seek some counseling or medical insight into the situation? I know sex without orgasm is still pleasurable, but at some point, you do need to take ownership of your own pleasure.
  3. I found it odd that Sheila was so adamant that Nate come clean about his financial situation on national television, but behaved the way she did with him and the producer later in the episode. I basically believed Nate's explaination of being cheap vs in dire financial straits. Maybe it's because at least two people came to mind whom I personally know to be that way. But, even if he was fudging the explanation, why wouldn't Sheila understand that he might not want to go more into this subject in camera? She was like a dog with a bone and it showed a lack of empathy. In a marriage, you need to extend grace to your partner and become very clear about which fights are worth having. Also, she picked the right show because a different production company would have had a 'come to Jesus with her about what she is contractually obligated to provide in exchange for this marriage and the financial penalties for not holding up her end of the bargain.
  4. Even she knows his being arrested or even indicted means nothing when no one cares enough to convict. There will never be justice for Pousee or anyone else this has happened to.
  5. I am looking forward to her trying her Norma Desmond routine on North West's boyfriends.
  6. So, this comment about Donnay hit something I mentioned to my husband while watching this episode. "What if Donnay is gay, but holy?" I have known Christian men who acknowledge same sex attraction, but believe it to be against God's will. These men were partially closeted and maybe only discussed the situation with a few select people. If that is the case for Donnay, it's possible Sheila is unwilling to out him on tv. Whether that is the case or not, Nate was all types of wrong in the way he confronted Donnay. It was immature and mean. I also suspect that Nate has problems with trust because of the way he has behaved in the past vs anything an ex has done to him. He just reads as an insecure guy who falls back on behaviors of fragile masculinity when he feels inferior. Ex.- losing at ping pong on the honeymoon. Not to mention I'm still not over him waiting until after the marriage was consummated to tell Sheila about his brother living with them.
  7. I will throw my nonexistent psychological training in on this and speculate that Khloe also has a thing about being "chosen". This is what causes her to become quickly attached to men who are not cleanly available to commit to another relationship. The "love" is highlighted by the fact that the guy was willing to leave his probably still grieving partner (Lamar had recently experienced the death of a child and had 2 other children with is previous partner) and appear to give up drugs to be with her. Their "love" is so magical that it heals wounds. Her devotion and baby talk will be the thing to turn these guys into amazing men. That other woman although the mother of these guys kids, just doesn't understand him. Khloe is what he needs. My guess is that this sort of behavior comes from how inferior she felt to her sisters (especially Kim) when they were younger. I know her "revenge body" journey has solved all her insecurities, but as the quote goes "I can't hear what you say, 'cuz I see what you do."
  8. At the time the news of Khloe and Tristan first broke, word was they met at a wedding he attended with his then 7 months pregnant girlfriend. He left the girl shortly after and Khloe was 'in love' again. In unrelated news, the baby momma is 1st cousin to Kevin Hart's current wife. They look a lot alike. I don't know what Khloe has against men who are without a trunk full of baggage.
  9. See Phyllis Schafly and women like Kristen Hawkins, Star Parker and any of the adult Digger daughters.
  10. So, just seeing the fladhback episode where Doug lied about having a job in order to sleep with Carrie when they were dating. So, basically he's a slut shaming creep and the conversation can be had as to whether he's a rapist since he lied about having a job in order to convince her he was serious about the relationship. The scenes of him literally calling her a slut and pressuring her for sex since he and his friends labeled her as previously promiscuous were not funny. I guess the writers reverse engineered the reason a "hot" Carrie would settle for Doug is she was a reformed slut with family issues (in her characters words, "no mom and a dad whose crazy") who was willing to settle for a nice fat guy with very little ambition (he lucked into the delivery job while lying to Carrie).
  11. So, it's Barbizon from back in the day? I still think there could be entertainment value there with cooky, fabulous teachers, make-up artists and sylists working with clueless students and momagers. Then you put in one person with a spark of unpolished talent and hijinks can ensue with Cynthia being the voice of experience and reason. It could be Vanderpumpish with a little "Dance Moms" thrown in.
  12. In addition to all the things already outlined on this thread that are dumb that production and the cast expect us to believe, someone needs to explain to Porsha that her allegations also cast her as someone desperate enough for attention and a check from Bravo that she would agree to be on a show and appear alone in scenes with people who planned to drug and rape her. I have never believed that Porsha was intelligent or a deep thinker, but that is a lot. There is no way in hell I could be paid to be in the same room with someone who I know planned to drug and rape me. So, is she lying, does she not truly believe herself to be in danger or is she desperate enough for pseudo celebrity that she is willing to appear on camera in social situations and one-on-one scenes with her attempted rapist for cash and trips? Or, is it all of the above? Also, Phaedra is a treacherous, hateful liar who lies and a hideous person. I would be fine with never seeing her face, struggle cleavage and Tennessee Williams play inspired southern lady work wear ever again. Peter: Why is he around and why do the producers think anyone wants him on their screen? Kenya: Perfect example of someone whose years of life experience basically amount to having the same year or two of experiences repeated over and over again. This woman has tried to force at least 2 different romantic relationships into reality since she has been on the show and still doesn't know when to stop. I sincerely hope she is not really as dense and needy as she appears or some guy who is a decent con man and lay will get any money she has. She better be glad Apollo didn't meet her before he knocked up Phaedra. Cynthia: Seems like a nice person, but why doesn't she have a story line? I have a hard time believing the modeling agency is really popping because if it was, wouldn't that be a great place to focus her screen time? Wouldn't Bravo want a special or spin-off about a once successful model entering the next phase? Vanderpump Rules could use a little competition. Something's off there.
  13. I was not impressed with this finale. I hated Liza for f-ing with her best friend's career in order to delay the reveal of her secret. If I were Kelsey, Liza giving away that book deal behind my back would be the reason I wouldn't talk to her again, not being secretly 40. I wanted Liza to finally act like a boss and tell Charles and Kelsey the truth. Then, she should have called Jessica Shaw to give her the exclusive on her story and report the blackmail from the dumb assistant girl. She could have given the company a book worthy of optioning and maybe helped save the company next season. They could have ended this season with something that would really make me curious about next year because I would want to see the fallout of Diana's reaction to Liza being of higher position, finding out whether the relationship with Charles really has legs out in the open and whether Liza and Kelsey are able to salvage their friendship in light of the lie would have been interesting. Liza could continue to find herself and maybe get a viable love interest option or two. I hate that ex-husband and that inspirational speaker storyline. If they were going to do that, it could have been the catalyst for Liza "outing" her lie, or Kelsey suspecting something was up, but otherwise, it was dumb. They also need to stop making Diana look like a buffoonish desperate career woman from an 80's movie in order to try and sell Liza as young in comparison. Sometimes I would swear this show is from another era based on the way it portrays women over 40. Newsflash, some of the sexiest, attractive women around are very close or well into the 40s (Jessica Chastain, Kerry Washington, Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz, Gabrielle Union) and don't look or behave anywhere near as old as Diana is styled. Hell, Miriam Shor herself is lovely without those horrible necklaces and clothes from the final seasons of Dynasty. I agree with the person who said this episode was very Sex in the City-ish with the dialogue and situations.
  14. I was late to watching the episode and may have missed someone else's comment about this, but did anyone else think Kate's boyfriend's collapse may have been due to a blood clot that traveled to his heart? The 6 hours in the middle seat means he probably didn't move much let alone stretch or walk during that flight. Then after sex he looked beyond normal tired to me. I noticed it during the scene and thought there might be a heart issue later since they have also made an issue of his diet. I wasn't expecting that ending, but afterwards I thought there were very small clues similar to Kate's initial complaint of just a stomach ache.
  15. Episode 406 confirmed why I hate Billie.
  16. I'm on Season 4 on Metfix and need some place to vent. When Nina's dad called her selfish and self-righteously said that's how he was before kids, I wanted to punch him in the nuts. He was nothing but a 60 yr old man child for most of the series. Finding out he wasn't Nina's bio dad is the only thing that made me even kind od compassionate towards him. Ugh.
  17. Devine is the epitome of a grown ass boy. He looks like a man and has trappings of manhood on paper, but he is nothing but a spoiled 14 year old boy on the inside . Parents really need to stop releasing these unfinished teenagers in grown-upbodies into the world with the rest of us. There are also technically adult women who fit into the grown ass girl category too.
  18. I believe that is 1. Porsha exaggerating to keep herself the victim and 2. Bravo furthering a narrative that makes her more sympathetic since there was a time when her physical altercations would have gotten ER fired from their shows. They are just too desperate for conflict and ratings to maintain that standard any longer.
  19. What got me about Tom and his alternative medicine bully attempt was 1) It is her body not yours. She has told you through words and body language that you are overstepping. So, stop it. 2) I believe alternative medical therapies are helpful for some people for some things. But, that doesn't mean herbs, chiropractic manipulation or acupuncture should be used to treat a separated shoulder. Use the appropriate tool for the appropriate job. AND 3) Again, it's her body. Shut up. *I must also note that I have experienced a severe shoulder separation (AC and CC ligaments torn with the AC joint visibly out of position) and had to go without surgery for about 3 months because of treatment of another injury. The only options are risking a painkiller addiction or fixing the problem via surgery, a brace and rehab. I would have lost my SHIT and wanted to murder this fool for pursuing the conversation he did with Lily. She has the patience of Job.
  20. After thinking about it more, I can say a big reason the history lesson bugged me is because I have read and heard Anthony Anderson confirm that the majority of the Blackish audience is white and that is part of the reason they even include those lessons. So, if you as a writing staff are going to take on the job of being Cliff Notes for the struggle (being sarcastic), then I need a bit more accuracy. There is also the other option which they have taken many times of writing about a less complicated subject. This one wasn't just simplified for a sitcom, it was just wrong for both the black and white sides of the issue.
  21. Oh, I understand. Growing up watching my mom be manipulated by church and killing herself to keep up with church volunteer work plus too jobs did not make me a fan of organized religion.
  22. You must not live in the South. Southern white people are plenty vocal and condemning of people deemed not to love Jesus enough. "Where do you go to church?" is almost as popular as "What do you do?" in conversations here. The high numbers of people from other regions moving here as a result of corporate relocation is helping though. I guess the extremely favorable corporate tax breaks have some upside.
  23. They are 0-2 for me this season. First with the Disney commercial and now with the "black people are so religious because of oppression" leaving out the part about slave owners pushing a mutated version of Christianity heavy on submission and knowing your place in order to make sure these slaves didn't burn it all down rather than submit to the dehumanization. Then they laced that weird history lesson with "white people be entitled and have no faith because they don't need heaven later when they have no struggle here." discounting that 98% of the ultra right wing are white Christians. I know it's just a 22 minute story, but maybe the writers should take that into consideration when choosing material.
  24. Regarding Sonia and Nick, I have heard her say several times she is afraid of dogs so, I don't know why he wouldn't know that. My theory is that he doesn't want to hear it so, he doesn't. He is just going to keep practicing his own version of ignoring her until she just stops talking about it or goes away. Then, if she gives up on the relationship, she's the one who gave up on him. He has very little empathy and doesn't seem that interested in developing that muscle. I also notice that he doesn't look her in the eyes. There is a big difference between the way Tom spoke directly to Lily during their conversation with Dr. Pepper and the way Nick spoke about Sonia as if she wasn't there while pretending not to be pissed when Dr. Pepper told him he would need to keep the dogs off of the bed. I want them to find something he is really afraid of and make him live with it for at least a few days to see how he does. Like, if he's afraid of heights, make him camp out on the roof of an extremely tall building or bungee jump every other hour to see if he just gets over it. Nick seems like the type of person who only understands things that directly affect him. Lily, stop with the stupid generalizations about "women be crazy in relationships and men be like normal". This is not a low rent comedy club. You are driving me crazy. I agree with you about Heather and Derek. I also think it's hilarious that he thinks he is the bastion of maturity. I mean she may have rejected him and have an inability to handle criticism of any kind, but Derek, that doesn't automatically mean you are a great guy with excellent coping skills. Slow down buddy.
