  1. I'm listening to Henry Winkler's recent autobiography. (If you've ever heard him in an interview or podcast, he reads it with the same joy and exuberance. Worth listening to it!) He just mentioned an actor, without naming names, who got too big for his britches on set and was written off. I believe it was after Ritchie left and before Scott Baio. I can't place who the actor and character might be. Anyone?
  2. I had the Black Friday deal of 1.99/month (with commercials). When it ran out, they offered 5.99/month.
  3. I just listened to a podcast with Jason Isbell (Broken Record) and he discussed how guns were handled on Flowers of the Killer Moon and he essentially said he couldn't believe how things sounded on that set compared to how professional and strict it was in his experience.
  4. We are about 15 miles. We actually have an antenna in the attic but it stopped working. It's matter of getting dh up in the attic to check out what happened. We've kinda of forgotten about it with having the streaming options (oops). Putting a reminder in the calendar! Good tip - thanks!
  5. My Black Friday deal for Paramount+ has ended. I cancelled and was surprised to see that they did not offer any deals upon canceling as I've seen mentioned here in the past. We aren't able to get over-the-air CBS so I've been using it for shows like Ghosts, Amazing Race, etc. I'll have to keep an eye out for new deals.
  6. We watched this the other day and enjoyed it. Did the wonky eye switch? We thought it was a different eye in the car versus later. But we didn't car enough to rewind! The entire movie was filmed in Massachusetts and it was fun for us to recognize a whole bunch of places! (We had no idea where it was filmed.) We were like, "That looks like Deerfield Academy!" "Wait, that looks like Shelburne Falls area!" Then we googled and found it really was filmed there. https://www.atlasofwonders.com/2023/11/where-was-the-holdovers-filmed.html
  7. I never got that or noticed it until your post and I've watched it at least 3 times...
  8. I stopped watching GH in the early 2000s when Sonny and Jason took over the show. (I do try to keep up with it here in the forums though.) I watched this special and agreed with most of the comments. At one point, Sonny is "speaking" as he gets into the elevator and I could not understand the mumbling. I was doing something and looked up and chuckled to see that the close captioning folks couldn't understand him either. Some things never change.
  9. Loved this show and I'm thrilled there will be another season. Interestingly, I had a survey email from Paramount+ about it and the survey was ridiculously long - like 20 minutes of very details questions on each character and the show. My 2 favorite new comedy discoveries have been Australian shows - this one and Fisk on Netflix. Hilarious!
  10. I love this show! Season 2 was just as good, if not even funnier, than the first. I hope there is a season 3!
  11. Prime Video will now have ads We are writing to you today about an upcoming change to your Prime Video experience. Starting January 29, Prime Video movies and TV shows will include limited advertisements. This will allow us to continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long period of time. We aim to have meaningfully fewer ads than linear TV and other streaming TV providers. No action is required from you, and there is no change to the current price of your Prime membership. We will also offer a new ad-free option for an additional $2.99 per month* that you can sign up for here.
  12. I loved this show! Deliciously dark!
  13. I came here to see if anyone pointed out the flub by Freddy when talking to his wife. "Just shows to go that...." I had to rewind and re-watch to see if my mind was playing tricks on me!
  14. He is trying to stop John Oates from selling his stake in a joint venture.
  15. I've been doing this every Black Friday for a few years now. Have to use a new email and the PITA about it was resetting up my queue but worth it for the price. Last year though, they got smarter and looked at my credit card and told me it was already used. I may be out of credit cards for it to continue working this year!
  16. I turned this on and my husband came into the room and watched. He thought it was some of the worst acting and dialogue he's ever seen and couldn't understand how I was watching the show lol.
  17. As predicted, the cast of Friends released a joint statement. I hope people will leave them alone now.
  18. This looks interesting but I'll be fast-forwarding through anything with Piers Morgan!
  19. Yes, she had MDS and a transplant about 10 years ago.
  20. I'm not sure he understands how very serious a bone marrow transplant is. My husband also has a bone marrow disorder similar to what he has and may need one someday. Based on what I see as part of the support groups I'm in, a BMT is no easy road. 30-100 days isolated in the hospital, then often battles with "graft versus host" disease, and most say it is 12-18 months before they feel like they have the stamina to work. Many also do not survive the transplant! I wish him the best and hope it goes smoothly for him!
  21. Jimmy's cause of death was a rare form of skin cancer.
