  1. I would really love for the "church" elders to explain how a SLEEPING child has the ability defraud someone. That cult is FUCKED UP.
  2. As far as we know, they only filmed Jill& Derick telling the family something--I would think they were announcing some "future" plan to do something. Do we know when the new season would be set to air? I feel like if this scandal hadn't broken, we'd probably find out Jill and Derick's plans before the season aired because TLC can't keep up with reality anyway.
  3. I wonder if Jill told Derick about this incident (before the actual news broke) and then Derick decided that they were going to get the hell out of dodge and away from the family. Maybe they won't go far, but far enough away to discourage Duggars from stopping by. If you watch that clip where they tell the family their news, Joy looks miserable.
  4. Makes it even more interesting that he was absent for the big family interview that aired this week. He had to work? I'm giving the side-eye to that excuse.
  5. I totally agree! I don't feel like this situation is a simple Josh=bad, girls=victims. They are all victims to some degree.
  6. His comments about a possible reunion project are a trending story on Facebook.
  7. Not illegal, but investigable by CFS if a report is made. Investigators could determine if severe corporal punishment is going on and decide to do something about it.
  8. I don't consider the inability to get sex from someone as repression. The Duggars are repressed. They are not allowed to express normal, healthy desires in any way. That's repression. 14 year old boys are hormonal and are learning to understand what is going on with their bodies. Masturbation is a normal, healthy outlet for those feelings. I wouldn't characterize "practically every" 14 year old as repressed. Not all 14 year old boys are thinking about sex or wanting sex constantly.
  9. If they had a bad relationship, then they are both amazing actors. I watch their interactions looking for some hint of annoyance or dislike but I don't see it! If you really dislike someone, it can be hard to disguise, even if it is your job. I don't doubt they got on each other's nerves at some point. That's pretty normal!
  10. Interesting...I wonder if this means the interview episode isn't going to be on, either. Damn, I wanted to see that one after reading everyone's comments about it. Is it online anywhere?
  11. Boy, I'd like to be a fly on the wall at the Duggar house. Can you imagine the things JB and Michelle are saying to their kids right about now? The spin they are probably putting on this thing? We should come up with some sort of underground railroad to free the Duggar children from their monster parents.
  12. This episode is scheduled to re-air tonight at 10pm.
  13. Michelle and Jim Bob are truly reprehensible people.
  14. Well, that may be--but I think the broader point is that it is very hard to go against a belief system, particularly one you were raised in. And the Duggar kids don't have any financial resources that they can use to escape. They've been told to believe certain things about themselves, the world, the way things work. It's going to be hard for them to personally challenge that.
  15. I think this is the right place for this, but feel free to tell me to move it if it's not. I just watched this clip of Leah Remini talking about leaving Scientology, and I thought it was interesting. It's not Duggar related except for the idea of where she says something about being raised in a certain way of thinking, it's hard to realize there are other ways of doing things (majorly paraphrasing here). At any rate, it made me think of the Duggars and how if there is a kid or two who wants to leave, it must feel like an insurmountable, impossible feat. http://www.oprah.com/own-where-are-they-now/Why-Leah-Remini-to-Left-the-Church-of-Scientology-Video?FB=fb_own_leah_remini_church_of_scientology I don't know, I just felt like after listening to Leah talk about what a challenge it was for her (and she has money/resources and is older than the Duggar kids), that it must seem impossible for the Duggars.
  16. Especially when it happens to such "good" people *eyeroll*. But you know the image the Duggars like to project, so something like this will make people tune in.
  17. For a minute they probably thought she was pregnant from that full frontal hug.
  18. It seems like in the early years, Josh was an Eager Beaver and seemed motivated to do something. And then as he got older and came to realize how idiotic and limiting his parent's beliefs were he probably started down Bitter Highway. I'd be pissed, too if my entire life I was told the crazy bullshit he was told, and then got out into the real world and discovered that there's a whole lot of gray area. Now he's got M4 on the way and he's only 26 or 27? Being a smug, know-it-all 26-year-old crusader against the godless heathens/father of 4 is exhausting.
  19. Jill's probably like "OMFG, this kid is so heavy and he's not even two months old yet!"
  20. My guess is that those questions are off limits. The Duggars likely won't agree to be interviewed if questions like that are included. I suspect that what types of questions (and possibly what specific questions) can be asked are agreed upon ahead of time.
  21. I wonder if Jared's recent withdrawal from JIBCON will carry over to the GG ATX panel?
