  1. For me, it doesn't matter if Hydra is a Nazi organization or if it simply represents a Nazi organization for our story. Either way works for me for how I think they're portraying Ward. In my eyes, he is an SS troop. He's the fanatical follower, and it doesn't matter whether or not he's in it for the ideology, for self preservation, or because he's following a charismatic leader. He's on the wrong side of the good versus bad fight. And since the bad side of this one is essentially Nazis, his actions while fighting for that side are unforgiven. Just like they would have been for actual SS troops after the war was over.
  2. Nice! So in other words, he decided to go low maintenance. I'm not sure if that works for the Pete character or not. Doesn't really matter now, but at least the mystery is solved.
  3. Phew! Your turn Actionmage.
  4. It's right off of Route 3 in Nutley, NJ, next to the Kinkos and El Duke's Shoe Repair!
  5. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I missed him in this episode. Every encounter the team had with him added so much to the overall feeling of the story, and even a minute or two in this episode would have been another layer of awesome.
  6. If there were some way for Littlefinger to use the Hound to get something he wants, then I'm sure he'll take a crack at it. The bounty was set at a level to entice dumb-asses to get organized enough to take a crack at it, so I don't think it's enough to entice Littlefinger.
  7. I admit to watching Golf from time to time. As is the case with most individual sports, I find it more interesting when there is the Tiger Woods type guy that everybody else is trying to beat, but I'll still get into certain events as long as there a few really good players in the mix. For example, I enjoyed the Masters this year because Bubba Watson is fun to watch when he's on his game, and I'll go out of my way to watch the Ryder Cup (and the Solheim Cup as well.) And on the topic of the Tiger Woods type guy, check out this awesome video of Jack Nicklaus shutting up Johnny Milller.
  8. Got the right host, but not the right one of her shows in this Science Channel / Food Network collaboration.
  9. Myka: We body swapped! You've been me naked. Pete: Oh, yeah. That was a good day...
  10. Another neat thing about Pete's "moment" was that it was all about love and his interactions with all of the other characters. I liked this for a couple reasons. First, the characters and their interactions was always my favorite thing about this show. It wouldn't have worked for me had the relationships taken a back seat to the stories and all of the fun warehouse stuff. Second, the kind of emotion we saw from Pete in that sequence is exactly the kind of intense emotions that create artifacts. Maybe somewhere in that future warehouse there is Pete's Hair artifact that gives you the warm fuzzies around your friends.
  11. I've been wondering if the fact that he's The Hound will get in the way of him getting into the Eyrie. Or if the current bounty on his head will present a problem. And if so, what becomes of his plans to get some money for Arya. The more I think about it, the less likely it seems like this plan is going to end well for him.
  12. Thank you for that article. And like you mentioned, Monica's role in this episode, as well as her complete understanding of how Jared felt (and likely change of her actions because of that), makes me think she will be a far too important character to lose should the show write Peter's company out of the story.
  13. Well, having been with these characters since s01e01, I am glad that the show ended up with them all in a happy place with life going on in a way that spelled out that there were going to be many more adventures for them, both professional and personal.
  14. Heh. I understand financial machinations, but I also understand the CW and superhero stuff. And I have chosen to explain the "Oliver loses the company" story in my head entirely with logic from the latter. I figure that if I can so easily accept people catching arrows out of mid-air a millisecond before it goes through their forehead, I can also accept that some sort of financial mumbo-jumbo led to Oliver being broke. And I will also accept that some sort of nonsensical financial situation could make him rich again. And most importantly, I certainly don't want the show to spend more time explaining reverse stock splits and board of director votes.
  15. I wonder how the show deals with it going forward. Seems like Peter is a very important character for the series. Do they recast the role, do they just talk about him but never show him (which I suppose making him a shut-in would be believable), or do they just change it up so that either a new character takes over for Peter's company or have Peter sell his stake in PP? The last one would in theory take Monica away, which seems like a bad idea. I'm going with recast, but what do I know?
  16. They're really close to being there. I'm not sure where else they would go.
  17. Nope. And I feel kind of bad that I'm a thread killer. The crazy lady in question is blond, but not the one you guessed. Mine has whole forums dedicated to hate-watching her, but I think she is not currently on TV. She's probably busy being the governor of New York's girlfriend. I just need one of the shrikes to wander through here...
  18. I agree. They are really stretching out Richard's development. He doesn't even have very interesting relationships with the other characters yet, which is amazing considering how nicely the other ones are evolving. It is definitely intentional, so I am pretty much just waiting around for the payoff. I did really enjoy this episode. There was a bunch of stuff that made me laugh, but I need to go back and re-watch to make a note of them. They weren't the main jokes (like Dinesh getting aroused by Gilfoyle's code), but rather the situations and the resulting reactions of the various characters.
  19. Welcome! I think you'll find this side to be a little less Lysa. So with some help in the s04e07 episode thread, I got my arms around where Arya and the Hound are, as well as where Brienne and Pod are, and it appears as though both pairs will arrive at The Eyrie very close to the same time. There is just a whole bunch of different things that could happen when they get there. Will Sandor still get his money? What is Littefinger going to say about somebody coming for Sansa? It's all very interesting.
  20. Thank you everybody for helping me with the maps and where the two pairs of travelers are in relation to The Eyrie. Depending on how they travel and when Arya and the Hound get on the main road, it appears as though they will both arrive there fairly close to the same time. Now that Lysa has added 'physical' to 'mental and emotional' to the things about her that are a complete mess, I wonder what is going to happen when Sandor shows up looking for his reward. Will Littlefinger pay him? Will Arya and the Hound even be allowed in? God, I hope that at least this part of this season doesn't end up a miserable nightmare the way I'm expecting the Kings Landing and the Castle Black stories to go.
  21. Ah! Thank you! Well, that is pretty easy to figure our that the path to the right goes to Eyrie, and it is nice and close to where they are at the moment. Now I just need to figure out where Sandor and Arya are in this episode and things could really start to make sense. It's too bad that map doesn't work like the Marauder's map from Harry Potter.
  22. Yep. That was the first one that came to my mind when I saw this thread. "I see you, and I'm thinking fourteen in the side pocket!" The return of a bunch of old cast members with Andy Samburg hosting, and the fact that some of them started cracking up during the show, reminded me of Debbie Downer. I just watched a couple of them on Yahoo!, and they still really make me laugh. In particular, I loved this one. It had two moments (her comment about what probably happened to Pluto and her "it's official" announcement) that absolutely killed me the first time and had me coming here because they still make me laugh.
  23. If there are two paths, and one goes north and one goes northwest, the one on the left would be northwest, wouldn't it? Are you sure that Eyrie is northwest? I'd look it up, but every time I try to Google something on Game of Thrones, I get hit in the face with spoilers.
  24. Well, I certainly agree with the idea that not everybody gets his revenge and not every death is karmic on this show. I'm just concerned because I don't know what to make of the scene between The Hound and Arya given that it happens so closely to when Oberyn volunteered to fight The Mountain. Was it to remind us what a truly horrible human The Mountain is? Honestly, that was never a question in my mind, and the scene with him carving up those defenseless guys was a pretty good reminder just in case I forgot. Or was that scene not really about The Mountain at all, and it is the opposite of what I think? Could it be that the appearance of The Mountain again in the Tyrion/Oberyn story gave us an opportunity to bring it up in the Arya and Hound story as a way to move their interesting relationship along some more?
