  1. I agree, he was pretty decent to her and I was glad, although I started feeling a little suckered when Max asked her about the other profiles she created and she smiled just a little and the sense of shame lightened in her just a bit (also when she said she used the tickets to the concert and had a good time). I also thought it was an interesting moment when Nick's cousin was all aghast that Nick had let the girl kiss him blindfolded. Dude, if he looked more like you, he probably wouldn't have done it, just like if Nicole looked more like the pictures, she probably wouldn't have done it either.
  2. As a former realtor, I would have wanted to see my clients use the best inspector they could afford and felt that they trusted. If something went wrong and the inspector missed something important, I'd want that inspector to have E&O insurance and a reputation he/she would want to protect and so would be accountable and make right on the problem.
  3. While I think Hilary does a good job decorating overall, that doesn't mean her taste matches mine and I'd want her to redecorate my entire home, although she is welcome to organize it and clean it. When they show the place at the end, I always wonder if her staff has put the homeowners' clothes and stuff away or if it's just staged stuff. If she put all my stuff away nicely and neatly, I wouldn't want to move, even though it wouldn't stay nice and neat for more than a week or so.
  4. He said he could sit all day and look at that view of the beach. No, you can't, dude, you have to work and raise your family, not just sit there. I was so glad the wife prevailed.
  5. I only half watched this episode. She was so enthralled with the white walls, and in one kitchen she said, "We could always paint the cabinets white." Why this fixation with white paint?
  6. Yeah, he sure came across as shallow. I get that when one person is fixated on keeping to the budget, that doesn't necessarily have any bearing on what they can actually afford and that it's usually a function of that person's comfort level with spending in general. But this guy, I wouldn't trust him with the check book. I'm glad they didn't pick the first place.
  7. Same here -- I fast forwarded through that part. I thought this was a weak episode. No big surprises, mild lies. The only curious aspects for me were what was going on with the Snapchat scandal that no one would talk about, and how quickly they smoothed over that he made a move on her (his little sister-like friend) while he was drunk and horny and how she fell in love with him because of it, but hey, it seems like a relationship could develop from this and lo and behold, it did. I will really miss Max. He makes the show for me.
  8. If one wants and can afford that big a house, that's fine, but that they claim to "need" 3000 sq. ft. for three people is, to me, appalling.
  9. I hadn't seen it before, but I turned it off when she mentioned two kitchens. She was unbearable.
  10. With the Brooklyn to Singapore couple, it was the standard conflict of one person wanting to stay within budget and the other person who would be staying home with a child wanting a comfortable living environment. Obviously compromise is essential and not altogether entertaining, but I do get tired of this conflict and usually I side with the one staying home. If you are going to live in a new country and culture, you need to feel comfortable in your digs. As long as you can afford them.
  11. I loved how he called her out first thing, that she could have skated on her looks but she chose to work her intelligence instead, and he wonders why. I saw a rerun elsewhere (I think I had recorded it for some reason) of the episode of the guy with mirror syndrome. In that episode, Foreman comes to realize he really does like working with House, deep down inside. It was a good episode, especially after a long time away.
  12. In the Croatia episode, I loved the cutaway to the agent saying, "Help me now!" after hearing the list of demands and then the budget.
  13. The Austin husband was adamant about being close to work and having a style that he liked within budget, then caved in completely to what the wife wanted. It's nothing new on this show, but I was a little appalled to see a family with one child needing a 3000 sq. ft. plus house to "grow into."
  14. I'm not sure where best to place this post, but in old episodes I've watched in the past weeks there were two that featured lines that still have me laughing, and I can't recall any that made me laugh in the past few seasons. The first was an early episode where the bad guy ends up being a woman who Gibbs was putting the moves on, and they caught her as a result of the cigarettes she'd been smoking. They were in the basement and he was showing her how to sand the boat, leaning against her, and he said, "Feel the wood. You can't get that result from a power tool." Gibbs may be a man of few words, but when he does speak up, I like it. The second was the episode where Ari gets killed, and he's talking to Fornell trying to get information and asks him if he's lying. Fornell says all of the agencies lie to each other, then said, "I don't know who you lie to, since you're at the bottom of the ladder of armed federal agents, and you aren't married." Early days, and he and Fornell were already great together.
  15. I do watch and enjoy "The Good Doctor," but I don't find it quite as deep or nuanced, although it's getting better all the time. I particularly like Shaun and the autism angle. Yes, with House it's been long enough that I don't quite remember what happens, so it's all good. I forgot how gory some of the medical scenes could be. Good stuff!
  16. Me, too! I watched the first two episodes and it was just as good as I remembered. I'm hoping the show airs weekly and that it wasn't a marathon. I will totally be watching. I haven't found anything to match House, ever.
  17. I know, right? They all acted shocked when they learned he was actually in LA -- "He's sneaking around behind our backs!" "I don't believe he's even in LA!" Of course he's there, there would be no show if he weren't in town. I thought they should have been a little more protective of her instead of texting him the address after he had already stated he wanted to see her alone. I hope she went straight to the airport after filming -- I'd hate to be stuck alone in a little house somewhere with someone who can't take no for an answer knowing where I was.
  18. This episode hit a new low for me. First, I can't see how or why anyone, particularly Nev, should think it entirely plausible that Chelsea might after all be interested in dating Domo after having been in a (fake) relationship with a guy for the past year and having expressed no previous interest in women. That they would default into "maybe after you think about it, you might want to go for it" just horrifies me. I mean, I'm fine with people identifying as any kind of sexuality that feels right to them, but to presume it's all entirely fluid and subject to whim is beyond me. Frankly, I thought it was downright predatory for Domo to lie to her day after day while sleeping next to her night after night. It totally gave me the creeps and I cannot fathom why Chelsea would consider dating her.
  19. This was a weak episode. When they were talking to the first girl on FaceTime, they never asked her if she'd met him face to face in the three years that she had been his wifey. I can't think of any good reason not to ask, so something must not have fit the narrative. I do think he felt something for Breana due to the length of their "relationship," but he clearly wasn't in love with her and he was too well-versed at the game. I hope he learns something from all this but I don't have much hope. For Breana, though, I do. I hope her life really takes off after this. I was kinda glad that she hadn't already met someone within the "two months" when they follow up, but I do hope she meets someone wonderful some day.
  20. I saw an episode last night when Abbie must have been new (she made the ocean of dope and quicksand comment). She also cracked me up when McCoy brought in dinner for them, saying he got her a salad with low calorie dressing. She looked at him and said, "I'm going to burn it, not store it. What did you get?" He got himself ribs, so she grabbed his box and told him to graze on the salad. I guess that was over the border of rude, but McCoy made some unnecessary assumptions that she would be watching her figure and eating carefully. He wouldn't have brought a dinner like that for a man.
  21. Confession -- I don't always have the dishes done and a clean, empty sink, so I really do not want all the rooms of my house to open into my kitchen!
  22. That is an interesting theory. The house across the street from us is being remodeled or actually completely overhauled. There was a weird wall with a fireplace in it in the middle of the house that has now been removed. I guess they are going for the open concept, but now the living room, kitchen, front room and dining area will be one big open square. I think it will be like living in a box. Or an aquarium.
  23. My husband watches TV till late but I go to bed early, so no TV in the master bedroom. I tend to be cluttered and my husband can't stand clutter, so no sitting room in the master bedroom. Guess we have no need for a massive and palatial master bedroom!
  24. They seemed young, not that that's a crime. I get annoyed when the husband wants a house where you can't see the neighbors and the wife wants to be in a neighborhood and a cup-de-sac, at that. If you are the parent staying home raising little kids, living in a neighborhood is great so your kids can play with friends and you can (hopefully) make friends with the other parents. As nice as it sounds to raise kids in the country, I think it could be lonely, and I don't think the husbands ever think about that.
