  1. A teen Talia would be developing her crazy, like Ivy is developing hers. As for Selina and Camren Bicondova, I think she and Bruno Heller have seen Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats one too many times. Yeah, I get it---she's gonna grow up to be Catwoman. But almost every episode of her exhibiting cat-like characteristics is getting boring, imo. It's insulting to viewers when a writer has to keep reminding them of a concept every second of screen time. Not to mention, I think Heller's inspirations for the "tv teen girl" include Dee from What's Happening, Gidget, Blossom, Becca from Life Goes On, and Jo from The Facts of Life---because that's the jumble of characters I see in Cat: Dee's smart aleck/sarcastic nature, Gidget's and Blossum's cuteness, Becca's wisdom beyond her teen years, and Jo's tough girl from the streets attitude.
  2. I think she doesn't have the experience to deal with the bad writing. The female characters, so far, have been one-dimensional. Selina is the stereotypic, smart alek smirking kid that we've all seen before on countless tv programs. It's getting to the point that I want them to introduce tweener Talia al Ghul or Zatanna, just so one of them can kick Cat ass from Gotham to the moon. Ivy seems interesting, but something tells me, she'll become a 1-D character soon. Montoya= 1 D with her only reason for being a Gotham character was to destabilize the Dumbara-Jim relationship (didn't need Montoya to do that--the way Dumbara is written.) Essen is 1-D and exists as a shout-out to the comics. Fish is a 1-D Big Bad wannabe: I'll be cheering when Falcone or Penguin finish her off.
  3. I noticed that chain lock too. There's no kitchen area in it either (from what we've seen) so I doubt the room was a studio apartment. Could it be a boarding house? Maybe. The other thing I couldn't figure out is Dumbara owns an art gallery. So what's happened to that for the last month(s) Dumbara's been sliding into the dark side? And seriously, if my name was on the lease and I broke up with my boyfriend, the last thing I would do is leave it without changing the locks so he can continue living there/going there as he pleased. But then, this IS Dumbara we're talking about so anything is possible.
  4. I'm a confused American who doesn't mind being spoiled and who can't wait to watch the series when it will air in a few months. Why would Celia be upset about Alan having an affair during his first marriage over 30(?) years ago? It's not as though Alan cheated on her (Celia). And from what I've read, Alan didn't know Gary was the end-product of that affair.
  5. I used to watch This Old House regularly when I was growing up. I liked the "sweat equity" theory behind it: that a homeowner can do most home improvement jobs without hiring contractors. Some of the stuff I watched back then, helps today when something in our home goes wonky. But as the series progressed from Bob to Steve and to this redheaded host, the projects moved out of the 'home owner can do' realm into the 'hire a contractor' one. And watching contractors install toilets or counter tops doesn't appeal to me.
  6. Ahh...so they're showing Bob's nightmare. The final episode of Newhart is one of my favorite finals, btw. Last night I saw the Lucy Show (or is it " Here's Lucy" whatever) on COZI. Totally blew my mind how Desi Arnaz Jr. looked so much like Desi Sr. at certain angles. I can't imagine the pressure Desi Jr and Lucie had doing that show with their mom. Good thing the internet wasn't around then because I could just imagine the negative posts about their acting and timing (not that there was anything wrong with either, imo.)
  7. Yes, Dumbara, you are poison. Better late than never with the insight. But it's too bad for us (the viewers) because we'll have to watch Dumbara hit rock bottom the rest of the season. Montoya confirmed what Mr. Spock mentioned to Stonn in the episode Amok Time : "After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting. It is not logical, but often true." Bam! Arkham: Gosh, I so wanted The Tick, Batmanuel, and Arthur to be patients there. I'm getting tired of Selina. Okay, I get it, she's developing her Catwoman skills. Okay already.
  8. There's an old joke that goes like this: Question: How can you tell a psychiatrist from the patients in an insane asylum? Answer: The psychiatrist is the one with the keys. Since she didn't have the keys in this epi...............
  9. Maybe they'll SORAS Marigold to be the same age as George and Sybbie? Re: Gregson in Germany If not NAZIs then the Soviets. In the early 20s, the Soviets had a counter-intelligence group that lured dissidents back the USSR to be executed. Germany would have been one of the stops on the road to Moscow for spies. RE: Gillingham and the rest of Mary's suitors.... Money is probably the number 1 consideration. Even if Mary doesn't inherit Downtown, her husband could still enjoy being a "parasite" living the good life on the estate and whatever's left of Cora's money.
  10. lol..being this is the Judge Judy forum, I'm certain you meant that literally and figuratively.
  11. Thanks for the recap. I can't wait to watch it on PBS (in the spring----supposedly). I always knew Celia was a cow--she is Caroline's mother.
  12. I'm a straight female married to the same man for the last 10 years. After reading this I am extremely happy I found Mr. Milz long before apps that would have told him (and any other male---wacko stalker or nice guy) the physical distance I was currently located. Dating has become creepy, imo. And I can't wait until the day when JJ will preside over a case wherein the Plaintiff is suing the Defendant for borrowed money, unauthorized credit card purchases, unpaid share of rent, an injured pet, unpaid parking tickets, damages to a 1981 Ford Pinto, a roll of paper towels, AND harassment because the Defendant has been following them around via one of these dating sites showing up whenever Plaintiff is within 100 feet. That would be a 2 Part JJ if ever there was one.
  13. I wanted him to say his 2 cents because i have a feeling it would have begun: "Well, she was having an affair on me and...."
  14. Which I think were also blue (or my tv needs adjusting.) Well.....perhaps (perhaps!), rent and utilities are $900/month, leaving her only her student loan money to supply food and other necessities of daily living per month?
  15. Mr. Milz and I don't have cable, so it's digital broadcast (which isn't too bad since I mainly watch PBS, Me/Ant/COZI , MyFox DC/20.1 ---Judge Judy is must-see-tv for me, and LiveWellNetwork because Motion is probably one of the best travel shows on tv and the kids love it too.)
  16. We got the Motown 25 year concert. I saw the Michael Jackson/Jackson 5 portion of it. And we kept getting George Clooney's father hosting the Hollywood Musicals show. I never noticed that one of the 7 Brothers never danced as much as the others, before he pointed it out.
  17. The 2nd hour reruns last night included Blue Mama: hair dyed blue to complement her blue patterned dress to compliment her blue eyes (I suspect colored contacts. Blue Mama used her ex's Health Saving Card (a debit card that's supposed to be used for doctor visit copays and deductibles) to buy their children fast food and other assorted non-medical items.
  18. We won't get it until spring in the US. Some spoilery stuff in this so don't read if you don't want to know. http://blogs.weta.org/tellyvisions/2014/12/28/watch-first-look-last-tango-halifax-series-3 All I can say is I hope they show more Calamity Jane.
  19. We had Retro in the DC Metro area. Then it began showing a bunch of not-very-good Canadian tv shows, and was dumped for MeTV. I hope they'll bring Retro back to replace Live Well Network, which is going off air in a couple of weeks.
  20. This would be a time when a dog-language translating machine would be useful to doggie owners. Because I can totally imagine the cute Maltese running its filthy, smart mouth by trash-talking the Boxer. That would add a new dimension to JJ because she could question the Maltese and the Boxer. I could just picture her telling the Maltese "Hey, Hey! You started it. Your fresh mouth started it. Now I'm not saying that he did the right thing biting you, but it was your fresh mouth that started it."
  21. Since the Soba Noodles special wasn't a one-off, I think the Artisan Editions should get its own thread. Anyhow, this Sushi show was great! Now I can tell my know-it-all "foodie" friends that sushi is about the rice, not the fish, unlike sashimi which is all about the fish.
  22. I think JJ's problem is with people paying cash, it's with people who pay large amounts of cash and don't have a receipt to prove it. I work in a doctor's office and we have folks who pay their copays in cash. We give receipts regardless of whether it's a $5 or $30 amount mainly to keep our books in order. But we've had some people who've stated they lost their receipt and needed a copy of it because they had to show that receipt to an unnamed third party (sometimes it's best not to ask questions). RE: Mr. Cardoza Over the years, I've noticed if the litigant is a genuine whackadoodle, JJ doesn't get too snarky with them. Probably because she knows these people can have a mental breakdown if pushed too hard and, perhaps, even become violent. So I figure the people with whom she lets snark at her are broken pots, as opposed to being merely cracked.
