All Episodes Talk: Lorelai and Rory and the People They Love
FictionLover replied to solotrek's topic in Gilmore Girls
Amen, sister friend! When I saw her on the reunion panel I was put off by her demeanor right away; her body language and smart ass mouth was not impressive. Towards the end of the Q&A portion a youth ask LG a question and ASP piped in. The boy sharply said he that he didn’t ask her. I applauded him! Also, her FU to Ed Herman for dying showed what a class act she is... NOT! -
Watching Justified I saw Rune playing a punk son of a rich drug lord. Also, Doyle playing a sleezy prison guard.

I saw a couple of episodes but I don’t enjoy vulgar humor. It’s my impression that this female character represents ASP more than Lorelai Gilmore ever did. No interest at all to watch more. -

I have asked that question numerous times as well. I even wondered when they first aired season 7 if it was a test to see fan reaction to Chris actually being the endgame. But I’m not sure how far ahead everything was filmed. -

Now he thinks he has to have sex with a surrogate. Hate that! -
I like what they did to season 7 Luke too. He was more likeable and they actually made his wardrobe fit it. During the revival we get ASP’s clueless Luke with clothes two sizes too big and an awful wig that gives him more hair than when he was younger.
-
The small town fun stuff was sorely missed in the revival. What they did have lacked the feeling that the OS had. As much as they tried to make it seem like 9 years didn’t pass (the jeep, truck, L&L relationship) I wish they would have done it with the town instead. I really missed the small talk at Luke’s.
-
Season one was a different Luke, by the end of the season he was developed into the character we knew for the rest of the series. He did flirt a little in season one but I never saw him try to seduce her.
-
Maybe not in love but definitely an attraction. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been jealous over other women. However, in the revival she said it was always suppose to be Luke.

I feel as much as I enjoyed it on Netflix, that I may have lost interest in it during it’s original run. I did hear that about Rory. But with all the David Sutcliff love with both ASP and LG, I wondered. Maybe ASP just planned on them getting together at the end of the series.
-
I had heard somewhere that the network forced ASP for the pairing and that’s probably why she didn’t do a great job writing them. Like “fine, be careful what you ask for people.” Not my words, just what I heard. That’s why I’ve been asking. I’m a Netflix viewer, so I thought maybe fans that watched from the beginning may have heard or read more in the media while it was in production.

I don’t know, I just read that. But Nicole wasn’t in the picture until season 3. This thread was referring to season 2. Sorry, I forgot to quote clack above.

I felt LL standing under the chuppah in season 2 was foreshadowing. Is that the mistake you are referring to? One thing I did read is that Jess was brought in as an obstacle to the LL relationship.
-
I was just wondering today about the writers for these 2; what was their plan? There was so much more interaction with them and more longing from Luke in season 1. After that, they would just throw out a bone to LL shippers each season with some jealousy or a sweet conversation. I wondered if they changed their minds about the coupling but were forced into it because of the fans. Did they always plan for Luke to be Lorelai’s endgame? Was the beginning of season 7 a test with fans for Christopher to be the endgame and they had to retreat? Has anyone ever read or heard interviews about this? I had only read that Lauren Graham hoped it would be Christopher but has changed that tune with talks of the revival. As far as Luke’s feelings about Lorelai’s engagement to Max, I did feel he was very sad with the little they showed of his reaction. I felt season 7 did a far worse job of showing how badly they hurt each other.

I think both ladies are very beautiful, just in different ways. -
It was originally written for 3 seasons and obviously that’s where it should have ended. I have canceled my showtime subscription that I had to watch it.

One is the Loneliest Number: Unpopular GG Opinions

I know, this was not clear at all. When Luke blamed Lorelai for making their lives seperate, it would have made more sense if she would have brought up how it started with April and her being afraid to try to blend as a family. Their story was very confusing and a huge disappointment for this fan. -

He not only lied by omission for two months but left her out of the biggest part of his life. It was a stupid storyline. I guess the writers thought this would be more realistic for Luke’s character to divide them than the original plan; Sheryl Lynn Finn being a rival for his affection. It still seems they could have come up with something better than the April story. -

Yet, Chris admitted he knew he was her second choice and pushed while she was vulnerable . -
Favorite ‘little’ Luke and Lorelai moments?
FictionLover replied to bracebridge's topic in Gilmore Girls
And the way he looks after Lorelai leaves the diner...he’s just so smitten! -
I was going to ask the same question. We know where Arizona is going and because of her child in NY, it was an easy fix. But with April and Jackson having a child, her exit will be harder. I can’t see either of them being all right without Harriett. My guess is that they don’t know yet and are trying to figure out something for fall. It’s why I expected April to die.

And called them “idiots” for only being friends! I thought that was weird too. -

Yes! I forgot about that conversation! I thought you were referring to the picking out a dress conversation and she saw Lorelai looking at a dress on herself. Sorry! -

I don’t think she had invited him at that point. I actually just watched that episode about a week ago. The episode previous to WBB ended with her giving the invite to Chris following her conversation with Lorelai. I thought that’s why she went to him. -

Emily going to Chris happened after she told her. That’s why she went.
