I thought that as well until I learned that SP was only suppose to be a guest on the pilot. -

Do you think if DS was available for the duration of GG that she would have ever paired Luke and Lorelai? -

I know what you mean. I don’t think it’s just the normal aging that makes her look so different. I think it’s Botox. Her facial acting used to be so incredible. In fall when Luke was pouring his heart out to her, instead of looking like she loved him (like the OS when she proposed) she just looked weird . You could tell she was suppose to be projecting some kind of emotion in her face but to me it just didn’t work. Botox kind of freezes your face. I do think she was already making some changes to her face by season 7. She used to have this cute smile that wasn’t the same. It wasn’t drastic but something I always admired and thought was beautiful and unique about her that was gone. I still love her, even though the revival was a total disappointment. -
I love Luke and Lorelai, but upon rewatching, I question myself why. Yet, I still do love them. I’ve come to the conclusion that fanfiction has created a much better couple than the show ever did and that’s the couple that I’ve really come to love. I came across this article and I must admit that I agree with it. Just wondering how other java junkies feel about it? https://gothamist.com/arts-entertainment/luke-danes-is-the-worst-gilmore-guy-yeah-i-said-it

Good point. There is one FND where the pendent on Lorelai’s necklace was off center and then back in place. It alternated almost every time the camera was back on Lorelai. It drove me crazy!

Not to mention he tried to secretly loan her $15,000 when she had termites in season 2 (I think).

All Episodes Talk: Lorelai and Rory and the People They Love

I’m not sure if this should be on this thread or unpopular opinions. I never felt that “best friends” plot of the show. At least the feelings coming from Rory to her mom. She most often kept big stuff from her, like getting a “D” on a paper, why she and Dean broke up, kissing Jess, being named valedictorian, not getting the fellowship and other things that I can’t remember off hand. The friendship relationship was way more one-sided coming from Lorelai in this viewer’s eyes. It seemed like a close mom-daughter relationship, but best friends just never rang true to me. -
The small town backdrop and the fresh original scoring of this show is a big draw for me as well. I missed the townie gathering and gossip at the diner in the revival.

Does anyone know if Unionville, Ontario (pilot) is worth a visit? We’ll be going by tomorrow but when I research it, it doesn’t seem like it would be. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

All early Rory. She was okay for the first 2 seasons but things changed during the 3rd. But that’s just my take on it. -

There is a category about reasons to hate Lorelai, but what about Rory? Has anyone noticed that Rory ruined major milestones for her mom. She missed her mom’s graduation. She had an adulterous affair the night of her mom’s big opening. She has to tell her mom she’s pregnant on her wedding day. I don’t know if the writers intended to do that, but it’s one of the reasons I never cared for that character. -
I hated what happened to Luke with the knowledge of April. However, they were there so I was extremely disappointed in the interaction at the one dinner. Luke still acted like Lorelai shouldn’t be involved in her life. In fact, during their argument in summer, I thought it would be said that Luke caused their separate lives.

There was a vulnerability in the early seasons that the character lacked in later seasons. It takes nothing away from Bishops talent, I just liked Emily better in the first 3 seasons. -
I did read them, very good reads! Thanks

I’m just a sucker for punishment. I love LL stories that make me cry. I’d love it if you have any suggestions of any I may have missed.

Yes, same for me. It must be a happily ever after. https://m.fanfiction.net/s/2951568/1/It-Was-Never-Uncomplicated Spark in the Datk is really tough at first but it ends up good. https://m.fanfiction.net/s/3768465/1/Spark-In-The-Dark https://m.fanfiction.net/s/2993554/1/The-Dance https://m.fanfiction.net/s/5780973/1/Oh-What-a-Christmas-to-Have-the-Blues https://m.fanfiction.net/s/5770164/1/Luke-s-Dark-Year https://m.fanfiction.net/s/3975686/1/Jumbled-Protocol https://m.fanfiction.net/s/3158535/1/Moving-Forward I think these are also well written as well as a genre I enjoy. Would love to hear your feedback! Happy reading!

Part of her negotiations I heard is that she knew how she was going to fix it. Not only what she did in 6...what about the revival!?! -

She told Sookie she “needed” it to be over because it hurt too bad. That’s how the season 7 writers did with it anyway. I wonder what ASP plans were to handle it. -

You are right on all accounts. He also storms off like a child when he’s mad. But yet, I like him with a total understanding why some don’t. I guess it’s his softness towards the Gilmore Girls that gets me. Saying no to things but he does it anyway, especially if one of them is hurt; “you can pull link sausage out of me”. That’s why the last part of season 6 was the worst, it totally took that part of his character away.
