  1. I see on her IMDb page that she's supposed to be playing Alexa Van Owen. Is that name supposed to ring a bell? ETA: Never mind, she's the prosecutor in Oliver's trial.
  2. I wouldn't say Lance doesn't respect Oliver as GA. He very clearly told the n00bs he came to them because he couldn't find Oliver.
  3. You don't even need to go back so far. Only two episodes ago a drugged up Oliver mowed through a bevvy of dirty cops.
  4. This is very cute. Jack will soon be taller than at least half the cast.
  5. Much like in season 1, the flashbacks are often eerier than the sucky present beccause they show so well how easily people adapt to crappy situations and grow complacent, opening the door to more shit happening. One of the things that I am almost sure was downplayed intentionally was the scene before June and Hannah leave home. It's Luke who's weirded out by having to sign a note for his adult wife to be able to get birth control (!!!), while June is pretty resigned to it. And then they are seriously contemplating having another baby in those shitty circumstances (!!!!!). Which all spells out the status quo became normal to them and that is effing chilling. Such an excellent fuck you to the system. I hope he comes back. It wasn't necessary. We know she became a Handmaid and it was pretty obvious that moment sealed her faith. Somebody mentioned the student Emily was supportive of was the one who ratted her out. She was the horrified girl we saw when Emily's superior was hanged, wasn't she? I think she may have brought attention to Emily, but innocently. Like she simply commented on the professor's cute family to someone she shouldn't have. 1. Ditto. 2. As for the hair cutting, I don't much get the insistence either, but I do think it has a great effect. It's a symbol of Offred slowly turning back into June. June had shoulder length hair, not a rope of it hanging down her back or being polled into a bun. That was Offred. And it goes nicely with her hiding at the Boston Globe. Yes, it's a place of horror. On the other hand, it's also a place of writing and that is a connection to June's professional past. They both feel like steps in her reclaiming herself. Since Nick has been mentioned multiple times, my chief problem with him is that he looks like his 12. And the actor, while perfectly solid, isn't able to trancscend that and make me forget it.
  6. The thing is, this could have worked much better if the season was set up the other way around villain wise. There's Dick for the first part of the season and the team inexplicably can't take him down. They just don't get it, how is this possible, Rene could take him. Hell, Curtis... Ok, not Curtis, but Rene could take Diaz's lame ass. And this begins to set everyone on edge, leading to frayed tempers, bad calls, and finally the team split. And then, it's revealed that Cayden James is pulling all the strings. He also kills Diaz when he gets tired of him. Or Anatoly does so unceremoniously when Diaz steps in front of the TV while Anatoly is watching a baseball game. CJ: Mr Knyazev there was no need to do that. Anatoly: I beg to differ. You were not the one forced to watch him try on tacky suits and pretend he knows how to fight.
  7. Can someone explain the title of this thread to me? I thought there would be a big revelation in the first two episodes of season 2 when I saw it, but nothing like that happen. Or is it meant as her betraying other women by bringing Gilead upon them?
  8. Nice form on the superhero landing, Colin.
  9. I heard what he said, but tearing it up is still short sighted because why not keep it to use it for something else? It’s like you buy a car to get to work, but then let it sit when you go grocery shopping and lug your groceries for miles. Just because you get something for one purpose, there’s no reason it can’t be used for something else in the future.
  10. Speaking of compromised public officials, have Hill and Armand been reinstated? Also, why did Dick tear up the contract Quentin signed? That's blackmail material, you nincompoop.
  11. Looks like SA’s last scene, the one he didn’t want to end, is as GA.
  12. I had to google this, but apparently their newspaper is The Star(ling) City Star. http://arrow.wikia.com/wiki/The_Starling_City_Star
  13. Not that I want Oliver hurt, but his eyes really are beautiful (tm Brock Hudson) here.
  14. Now I get Dig's decision to leave OTA. ARGUS offers surveilance. That's unlike anything OTA ever did! Mind blown. Got it now. And then you naturally work less with them than with three incompetent assholes. Everything finally makes sense. The least they could have done was throw in some Lyla to counteract this crap. Is Rene the most powerful villain of all? Because those are some pretty impressive mind bending skills. You expect me to thank you for saving my ass? Bwahaha. But I'll be gracious enough to let you apologize to me for a situation in which I was to blame. Poor Zoe for being stuck with him. I really do like the actress they have playing her. Is she maybe trying to get rid of Rene by pushing him out in the field? The Quadrant needs better jewellery. That ring is horrible. But I guess it matches his tacky suit. How in God's name does that cost over $100,000? Can someone please be honest with me, is he actually supposed to be the comic relief? Because his muscles are getting bigger? He's Brock from She's All That! In fairness, I did like Oliver and Anatoly's plot. I'm almost willing to ignore Oliver being able to catch an international flight while one bail in a corrupt city, and then helping Russia's drug trade. Here's hoping that they make up in the next three episodes and Anatoly maybe strikes out on his own since he seems to be done with Bratva. Who was the pretty lady at the end of the episode? She looked vaguely familiar.
  15. I imagine they’re there to point and laugh.
  16. ?You know what I’d actually like even more? If they survived and then were offed ieither during the summer or in the premiere. And not like Sara was, which set the tone for the entire season 3, but some nobody without any agenda who’s caught by the end of the episode. And then everybody forgets them.
  17. I don’t think we know who’s left, but I think there have been at least three new writers announced so far. Which makes it logical that some people must be leaving.
  18. I haven’t watched the clip, but this is the most ridiculous thing I’ve read about it so far. What is this, recess? And is this the episode in which Oliver face gets messed up? Because unless Diaz uses every baddie he’s ever known as back up, just no. Pushing Diaz as the big bad ruins a lot. Because if the writers weren’t trying to gaslight us into thinking he was so scary, he actually really is the sort of inconsequential nobody that the n00bs ought to be able to handle him.
  19. The promotional tourist materials just write themselves.
  20. I didn’t get the impression that Jax had anything to do with the Arrowverse Jax. That’s too bad about her deleting. I wasn’t instantly vowed by the first chapter, but I was waiting for them to build up to give it another go.
