  1. as for the Duggars, there's a lot of lambs dressed as mutton. Old mutton.
  2. The paci is blue on my surface. A kumquat is really small, wouldn't it be in the 'don't tell 'til its safe' stage? If someone told me their unborn was the size of abanana, I would think it's no longer in a fetal position and stretching out, but also thinking, 'aren't you eating enough for that poor thing?'
  3. Derrick and women working makes me stabby. My Dad had to take early retirement because of cataracts. ( This was before the in and out in one day, and because of sensitivities to certain pain killers had to be put completely under. ) Not that we were hurting, but Mom had to work to supplement Dad's pension. She never worked before in her life. First she got a job with an upholsterer because they needed a seampstress. After the company went bust she learned electronics and got a job as an assemblier. You know what? I think she enjoyed getting out of the house and meeting people she wouldn't have known before. She upholstered a couple of chairs and also refinished a table. She also could read schematics and would fix our dishwasher. She was skilled with a soldering iron no matter with electoronics or leaded glass. A hobby she took up later. All of this was after she turned fifty. Do I think Jilly-Muffin could do this? No. But also, Derrick doesn't see the enjoyment one can get from working. People, skills, etc. Maybe if he tried it he might.
  4. You can. Right of the picture you can see the bridge leading up to the tree house, and looking closer you can see the house.
  5. That's what started my brother out with baking and ended up with the four of us kids trying out do each other with dinner. My eldest brother was asking why Mom didn't bake any cookies while she was in a super cleaning mood. She stopped looked him in the eye and told him everything he needed was in the kitchen along with the cook books and if he wanted cookies, he was welcome to make them. All of us started reading the cook books trying to decide on the cookies and got carried away from there. There was at least four nights a week when Mom didn't have to cook. (She never had to do dishes as that was our job, rotating between the four of us washing and drying. At the time, I think my brother was around 14, so I must have been at least 9. I mean there are cookbooks that tell you everything you need to know. My sister swore by the Joy of Cooking. Doesn't Jessa have any?
  6. If she was such a Christian, wouldn't she want to "go home" to Jesus? But, she didn't she went to the doctors. Any way, I'm with you.
  7. Until they have enough boys for baseball team. I don't think the mom's will feel that special, especially if they keep up the strict gender work division.
  8. As for the Pearls, why do these "Christians" keep going back to the old Testament? Supposedly, that covenant was broken when they accepted Jesus. Also, who is the Duggar son with hair in the picture?
  9. As one of my coworkers called them "private summers". Thank God mine are over. Didn't have them as bad as some and only became uncomfortable at night. My sister had the flashes and " crazies".
  10. I went to a Bat Mitzvah for an friend. She didn't have one when she was younger as her family couldn't afford it. I felt a bit out of it because I didn't know what was going on when they used the prayer books as I didn't read Hebrew. It wasn't until the end when I realized the English translations were in the back of the book! Loved it any ways there were four women celebrating and it as a progressive temple as they had women readers. Sorry if I named something wrong as I am not Jewish.
  11. Well, at least you know it's never going to be 'The Men in My Little Girl's Life.' I don't know how many will remember that song.
  12. I had to it read 3 times before I realized her husband didn't know he was going to die. Not that he didn't know he found Jesus. I blame not wearing my glasses and the late hour. It was more interesting the first time I read it.
  13. The article said it was one anonymous critic, which I can believe. No matter what kind of spiritual fruit is served, there's always the danger of religious nuts.
  14. We have been below zero the last few days with record snow fall. The snow last week topped the total amount for all 2016 winter. It is suppose warm up by the end of the week. Should be fun when the snow melts during the day refreezes at night. The joys of winter in Montana One reason I refuse to move above the Mason-Dixon line. My relatives in Michigan and Minnesota may laugh, but there we are. We are not supposed to get into the forties until Monday: we'll have a heatwave! I hope happiness for everyone in 2018!
  15. I just looked closer at the skirt, it's not even a skirt durable for tubeing. She's pregnant and ill-dressed for the sport. Maybe she has pants under her skirt, but then why not wear a long tunic sweater or a longer coat if you don't want your lady bits shown.
  16. In my last job there were many who had a career in a different field than their field of study, so a degree maybe for different things to different people. Maybe they want to impress those who are impressed by degrees or felt a bit out of place at a job where most of the people coming in now have degrees.I fully intend to take advantage of my state university's policy that if you are over 65 and there is room you can take classes free. I'm only 15 credits short, and I will have accomplished a degree. For me it's now a personal accomplishment.
  17. Did anybody think Sheldon Cooper when today's ep brought up the roommate agreement?
  18. I was 16 going on 17 when I graduated and decided that since I didn't know what to do in life I would take the summer off. My father had died in September, and my sister just got divorced. I expanded my vacation by helping out and taking care of my two young nephews (two and not quite one). Even with the youngest getting explosive diarrhea depending on what he ate, (he was starting solids so it was a time of experiment, one he did out grow with no food allergies or other problems). In spite of the fact that most diaper changes also included bath time, and I was expected to keep up with the housekeeping and start dinner, even at that young age, I knew you don't keep dirty diapers laying around. The housekeeping may not have been gold or even bronze standards, diapers were thrown away. And yes, there was quality time. I played with them, took them shopping and to museums.
  19. Or maybe she could put down the phone/camera and do a quick clean around. It shows the girls were not taught housekeeping skills. I waited until my nephews were napping to clean. I've known some people to put the kids to bed ( at a reasonable time) and then clean. There is no reason for the diapers on the dresser.
  20. I love Aldi's. We also have a Shopper's, Shop Rite, Giant, and Safeway all about 10 minutes from us. Harris Teeters is about 15-20 minutes and Wegman's about 20. Mom's is within walking distance or a 5 minute drive. I almost forgot, we now have a Whole Foods 10 minutes away. In spite of all this, my two main stores are Aldi and Giant with Shoppers filling in for quick runs. (It also sells beer and wine). My sister in deep rural had a Martin's which I wish would come into the area. Judging from some brands, I think it was an upscale Giant.
  21. It's a shame they look so "raggedity." I've seen little girls' dresses being sold with leggings and they look really cute. I never thought it would be a "thing" outside the Duggars.
  22. I think the Brits would have something to say as it is the tune to "God Save the King/Queen"(depending on whichever is in power). It would definitely confuse things at places like the Olympics where the Nations anthem is played for the winner.
