  1. There's a lot of new books on the shelves. Many look like the haven't been even opened for a quick perusal. There are a view that look older however, but were they Jeremy's or bought used?
  2. I'm sorry, but I can't see harm with Spurge's bottle. Of course, I am biased. I had a bottle until I was two. My parents tried hiding it, throwing it away, etc. but I always found it. I filled it with water and carried it around. Finally, my parents tried bribery. I think it must have been time to give it up because when I got my doll as a reward, I didn't even remember what the reward was for. My teeth were fine and I was the only one of my sibs who never smoked. (Not that the Duggars would worry about that.) But for some kids, they need an oral fixative for a bit longer.
  3. In the family photo they look nice. I mean they do cleanup well. Your mirrors would be safe if they visited.
  4. Where to start? I'm with the poster who thought the bride's maid dresses were from the clearance rack. They look like cheap knit prom dresses. It looks like the slit in front was sewn up and is now a vertical ruffle. Jill's dress was probably from a thrift store as it does look a couple of decades out of fashion in bridal wear. The boys and Chimpy would already have suits from their church entertainment, but may have acquired the pink ties. Jill must have lucked out and shopped at a thrift store where there were also first communion dresses on sale. (See, those nasty heathens are good for something!) Jill, in spite of going to cosmetic school, has darkened the older girls eyebrows too much. On my screen they look like someone was playing with those fashion editor apps for smart phones. The make up is outdated and they look much older than they are, not fresh faced teens. I hate snarking on them, but it's not their fault. Mom should wake up and take the clouds from her eyes. (Great, I'm now hearing Dulcina's response from the movie Don Quixote. Something these kids and the Duggars will never get a chance to enjoy!)
  5. My tablet is having a hissy fit and won't let me copy, but I was told the eyeball doesn't have any feeling. The pain you get is from the feelings in the eyelids.
  6. Jinger looks happy and well groomed. I actually looked twice to make sure it was Jinger. It may not be the life we choose, but she is enjoying herself.
  7. Spurgie's lashes look natural to me. My nephews also had long and thick lashes. Some stranger even asked if my sister put false eyelashes on her eldest. One of the few tomes she was struck speechless, until later that is...
  8. Same thing happened with my mother when she had me. I was the fourth child (and last) and also the smallest. (Dad joked he was afraid they wouldn't let them take home the next one as we kept getting smaller at birth. Doctors also told my Mom she'd never be able to get pregnant.) there are many reasons a Jinj may or not be pregnant. I just hope she is enjoying this time with her husband and that she isn't in a hurry for children. If she does have any, she keeps it to a manageable number for her and Jer to raise.
  9. Who wears black hose on vacation in Hawaii? I hope she was hot as hell! (Not swearing, just being honest.)
  10. This reminds me of when my grandmother and her friend were staying at the hospital with my sick grandfather. They played cards to pass the time. Their Baptist minister came in to the room, and the friend hid the cards underneath her, afraid they were sinning. The pastor was fine with it as long as it wasn't gambling. The friend would've been around 70 at the time and this was 30 years ago. In Victorian times, they used cards as a learning tool. One set of popular cards were famous authors. I heard the story of a grandmother who was very against cards and gambling, but was found playing a game of authors with Whittiers wild. There's always a way...
  11. For heavens sake, if Mechelle wishes to be comfortable for a few hours and not look like she's hiking the trails after the wedding, why not by a cute pair of crocs. They do have some that look like ordinary shoes and not so orthopedic. You think she'd at least try not to look old and outdated.
  12. At least in the video, Jinger wasn't always gazing adoringly at Jeremy. She even looked away at the camera.
  13. Also, "Chinese whispers", though that's probably considered less than PC these days. We called it "Gossip." Which, does show we did learn while we played.
  14. Sigh, I am getting old. I hate that look. Why wear a flannel shirt over a dressy dress, your top tore and that's the only thing you had in the car to cover it? Same with cowboy boots, it looks like you have to cross a cow pasture to get where ever the event will be. Okay, I've chased the kids off my lawn, I'll just sit here and read about Joy and what'shisname.
  15. Either one of these dresses could be modest. Actually, I just put the second one in because of the "Duggar" sandals.
  16. So Sorry to hear this, Arwen. Sending love, frontal hugs, prayers and positive thoughts to you. Keep positive, snark with us when you're able. Please have Mr E sign up and update. You know how much we worry when someone goes missing even for a little while.
  17. It's funny because I've seen two shows where the take-off from the Mary Bell case has the girl get off by their mothers. In the real one, she ends up in Juvenile and was released as an adult. One was the Law and Order episode, the other a German show, Tatort. I would also love to see a follow-up episode to see how she has grown and see which side was correct.
  18. Henry has an "old" face. He also looks bored as hell. I'm hopeful someone is trying to engage and amuse him.
  19. Is that it? I noticed my own mother heading to more flashy (I mean shiny) outfits as she got older. How odd about Anne Boleyn being a Protestant martyr. She was an exceptionally intelligent woman, but they don't allow their daughters the same opportunities.
  20. Guess that makes the Duggars out of bounds, unless, of course they have seen the error of their ways and are now really attending a real church. But, the horrors of that blog. I thought you all were just being snarky at Jill again. Nope she is fully pimping out her daughter for marriage. The "beauty" poses, and what is she looking for in a marriageable man. Jill's pushing hard and it's reeking of desperation. Maybe if they didn't travel so much on the stink RV, they'd go to the same church all the time and Nurie would meet someone nice there (or in the neighborhood and make her escape). For fun, watch Jill's videos without sound. She's one off from a porn star with the way she over enunciates. Her lip movements remind me of Marilyn Monroe impersonators when they want to get sexy. I can't explain it, but a lot of unnecessary lip movement.
  21. Thank you, Church Honey for calling attention to this. I enjoyed it a little too much ;)
  22. GeeGolly, as if Jill would even be able to understand the empathy that it would take to write that. The Duggars are two-dimensional. They lack depth of feeling, it has been Gotharded out of them.
  23. I found this article interesting considering Derrick and Jill. The quote they use to explain why they left would not even register with the Duggars. "We firmly believe that God can and will protect our children, but we are acting in obedience to our Lord, by making the decision that we believe best honors Him.” https://world.wng.org/2016/03/go_or_stay_missionaries_confront_zika_virus_dilemma#at_pco=smlrebh-1.0&at_si=58c2c3ae81a57816&at_ab=per-2&at_pos=1&at_tot=6
  24. I'm just worried about eye problems ahead for kids on computers all day. I know mine have gotten worse. But, reading books in different formats may help students. Otherwise, no dog in this fight. On the news site, the most fertile woman has died. A Palestinian, she gave birth to 69 children and was only 40.
  25. Ah yes. Tozer also known as Tozer the Tozerian, Tozer the Destructor, Tozer the Traveler, Volguus Zildrohar and Lord of the Sebouillia So glad I wasn't the only one who thought of this.
