Pretty clever of Rose to have Prince call Ed "Daddy" to foster a father/son relationship (at least from Ed's perspective.) Of course, to Prince the word in English could mean just about anything. Rose calls her father "Pa" so Prince might not realize that "Daddy" means his father, he might think that it's Ed's name.

I vaguely recall RM saying that her mother had passed away. Other than that there has been no mention of her. I believe her father lives relatively close but had to spend the night there because of the torrential rain. Maybe it was because of the language barrier that Ed assumed that "my father is staying here" meant in the same room when he actually meant he's staying "here" overnight I thought maybe they sold the things Ed sent to pay for the dinner
