Canada Day was July 1, so the Jays had their Canada Day gear for the game Sat. They lost, as they typically do in the red uniforms, lol. Some Jays fans, me included, think the red unis are cursed. I didn't watch the game, but they had cool ceremony to start, including a citizenship ceremony for some new Canadians which was cool. On July 4- I didn't watch yesterday either, but I saw some pics they had a red hat with both flags maybe? And some players opted to wear the USA socks.

When Elena died and Cruz was arrested- that is when the show started to really decline for me. Mason and Julia's storyline was ok, but everything else just got worse and worse. And then even Mason and Julia's storylines eventually are terrible, after they are together. It just sinks to rock bottom for me and then doesn't start to pick up until Robert Barr shows up. I would have to look at the summary of the storylines to see which I hated most. It would be quite the competition.

Yeah it's a shame about Nicholas Coster. It was nice knowing he was still here.

Elena is good as a villain but I think 1987 sucks. For me once Elena was dead the show mostly sucked until Robert comes in 1990.

The pigeon thing is from Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, and it was better done and more fitting in that circumstance. It irritates me for some reason that they mimicked it on SB.

That seems comparable with the changes they made in the field, which I'm ok with. But trying to limit teams.from spending on analytics seems ridiculous to me. Let's make the game dumber! Okay. And I guess I disagree the game is boring But I admit I am very anti Manfred and anti owner, I disagree with a lot of their decisions. Anyway bw that and the Jays sucking I'm becoming less and less engaged, although I'm sure they don't care about a 40 something Canadian. I dont think I'm their target demo.

So Robbie wants to limit what teams spend on analytics. Guessing some people are big mad at the Rays. And just the usual owners and Manfred being tools. Is there any other sport where they want to penalize teams for trying to win? The Jays suck so bad, however, I don't care as much. Yeah I'm not a fan of Robin Wright bc of her attitude. She wasn't too good to take the pay cheque. I don't respect her or her attitude. But I've said this before lol. I'm watching 1990. I'm guessing Cassie wasn't too popular when she started? I wondered if her intention was too split Julia and Mason right at the get go or whether it was gradual. I think initially she wasn't thinking of it, but then it was obvious there was a wedge and she used it. But really I'm.mostly irritated at Terry Lester. He is not my Mason lol. Cheating on Julia and then lying to her about Capwell Oasis. Was original recipe Mason that much of an asshole where Julia was concerned? I don't think so. The actor playing Dash is a good actor and attractive, it's a shame they made him a rapist.

I think I can only answer one question- yes Julia and others found out about Chip bc of the bone marrow storyline. -I can't really recall how they found out about Samantha, but I don't think it was anything big or dramatic. I vaguely recall Eden (or Kelly?) - someone just guessing and Julia confirmed it but I don't know if that is accurate. But it was never a big plot line like the bone marrow thing. -Utah- I have no idea. It was too long and just awful all around.

So some abusive men start beating their partners when they get pregnant, probably for lots of reasons (women are even more physically vulnerable at that time). Also I thought I read bc sometimes the guy gets triggered by the his partner being more focused on the baby than him. A jealousy and rage aspect bc he should always be the centre. So while I dont think Asrael beat Marisa, he definitely had those abusive vibes this ep. What a POS. Almost mocking her for caring about her daughter.

I'm even later to the party and Indont have anything really profound to say. But- - kind of a relief to hear others were also annoyed by the little girl bc I totally was and I just thought I was turning into an old curmudgeon. 😆 I may still be, but at least I'm not alone, heh. - it was super irritating that the Laconia stuff was meaningless. - I wish Drummer had a bigger role in the final battle, I think the character earned it. - Filip- the actor really is very good at conveying so much without speaking as the scales finally fell from his eyes - I also regret that the season didn't delve more into the ring builders and their enemy but maybe some mystery there is better than anything they could come up with. I'm considering reading the books, but not sure. Reading fiction is really hit and miss with me.

Beginning to find 1990 a slog. I'm just not into Kelly and Robert. The shaman stuff- the less said about that the better. I'm so tired of Terry Lester. It's not personal, he's just not Mason and he has zero chemistry with NLG. Yesterday I watched a 3rd Rock from the Sun ep and LD was on it. So nice to see.

I'm fast forwarding the stuff with the kid. Whatever. Great scene with Drummer and Avarsarala. Can't believe they wait to the bitter end to bring these two together. I'm really going to miss this show. I only get into sci-fi occasionally- this was the first I watched since BSG. I think I enjoyed it more. BSG had some great moments but the nonsensical parts of the plot really undermined the whole show for me.

I'm not exactly hate watching this but I'm not really a fan either. Agreed with the comments above about Will not taking Mrs Coulter. Had to be pretty obvious he was leaving her in potential danger of being killed. He and Lyra have all the power with the knife and the bear etc. I don't really buy Will would just have the heart to abandon her to the Magesterium. The scenes with Coulter and the psycho priest were good. I don't think Asrael is supposed to be an anti hero? I think he is just supposed to be a straight up good guy? I've never watched a show where the supposed hero was such a garbage human being. Whatever his rationale is, he's still fine with killing innocent kids and torture. The former in particular I cant get past. He is not much different than those he is fighting imo. I just don't subscribe to the ends justifies the means.

I can't watch racing anymore. I did watch the Derby, but I felt uneasy about it. I knew about the 7 deaths. I'm not an expert on the industry, but there are enough injuries and mistreatment of the horses that I just can't bring myself to watch anymore. But I was never very heavily invested, so it's not a tough decision. As for the first article, I'm curious what the age of the writer is. A) yes things change. Traditions change. B) is a fancy breakfast with white linen or whatever it is the most important thing? Horses dying is just taken in stride so casually. I can't really muster up much sympathy over a swanky breakfast.

I'm assuming (alright hoping lol) the Rays will do what the Dodgers always do- have like a +100 win season and then crap out in the playoffs. Not that I think the Jays will do much better- I think they will have the same result as last year. A good team, not a great team. The only difference is I think the GM's job might be on the line this time.

Huh. Don't think I've ever seen clips with that guy. Just John Callahan playing Leo- I thought he was the blackmailer. But I've only seen bits and pieces of that story, so I'm half guessing what is going on.

I am really interested in seeing Sean start and Anna. So I think I'm through the worst of 1984 and it's picking up a bit. Yes, I wish they would stop reporting on him. I feel like there is this undercurrent of just waiting for him to come back to MLB. Apparently he's already annoyed some players or fans or something. I would be sympathetic but Bauer being a gigantic asshole is no secret, so they knew it before they signed him.

So I finally finished the full 1984 eps that were on YT. Man did this show ever decline. I really found first half of 1984 awful- Robert basically being an ass to Holly, the spa blah blah, Celia and Grant- I didn't mind Celia until real Grant showed up but what a bitch she became. GA is better off without her. Beatrice blah blah hated all that. So now trying to figure out what to watch- maybe the Beatrice murder story? On the fence about that. And the Mexico clips with L&L I will try but I find L&L boring. But it seems to feed into another story? And then the Aztec story ? So I've seen a bit of Frisco starting, hoping it will be interesting, not sure yet.

That's a good point, except they basically contradicted it in that season where they went to the planet. Like yes some struggled and some died but they had the desire to at least try. It's like the desire for something better/more which was presented in that season is just erased. Last season Marco or someone said they would lose their essential Belterness or culture or something- and there could be an interesting thing to explore bw those who want to change and have something different, and those who are afraid and/or want to stay with what defines them as Belters- living in space. But the show for the most part takes it for granted that they are all happy with status quo and pretends that season where they were willing to die just for a chance at a planet never happened. Just bugs me, but I get they can't address everything deeply.
