I didnt like Teoscar. At times he made zero effort and I also thought some of his 'pranks' and joking were just him being an asshole. When people ask you to stop throwing shit at them and you keep doing it- not funny. Randomly punching people out of nowhere- also not funny. ETA they did it partly for pitching but really they want to clear out space and money to bring in someone for the outfield. Whether they are successful at that, I don't know, but it is only intended to be part 1 of whatever they're doing.

The funny thing is, shift restrictions and larger bases will make the game longer bc it will be harder to get outs. They don't really care about the time, they want more action so they are trying to force it. I'm sure they've also studied how the gambling can be better implemented with more balls in play.

My position was always if the Astros don't want to hear the boos and complaining they could try giving back their rings and donating all the bonus money they received. They don't want to do that so they have to take all that goes with it. That being said it was 5 yrs ago and for me personally life is too short to waste on agonizing over it- but my team wasn't affected by it so probably easier for me. The team the Astros put together this year is impressive. Framber and Christian Zaiver (?) did great, Pena and Yordan Alvarez are great players. I read about Alvarez and it was nice his parents were there. Congrats to the Astros fans.

Smoltz is explaining why the crowd gets loud at different times. Like thank goodness, I could never have figured that out. Why do they keep this guy? I really like Joe Davis but he is better in the regular season with Orel.

What makes no sense is the grandfathering in imo. If they're going to ban it bc of safety then ban it. Don't let some players use it and some not. A) I doubt the safety issue changes per player and B) players sharing bats is a thing that happens.

Would be pretty funny if Boone went to Houston. ETA sorry Yankees fans here, I know it's hard to lose. That Jays collapse was really hard to stomach. It's almost better when they just outright suck and there is no hope.

I'm really surprised they're keeping Boone. I don't follow the Yankees enough to know who is at fault, but usually at this point someone pays the price. I always think the GMs should bear more responsibility for putting the roster together but the front line manager usually goes instead.

I'm picking Astros but in 6 or 7.

I'm also rooting for Houston. Hard not to like some of their newer players- Alvarez, Pena. And the pitching- damn. Guys that just came out of nowhere. But congrats to the Phillies.

Oh yeah the questions are usually dumb and the players say the same things over and over. I also will say I don't like it if it goes on too long.

Funny I was just listening to Rosenthal talk about that in a podcast. He said the players give permission (or not) in advance. It seems he's been getting a lot of grief for it on twitter. If it's been discussed in advance and the player is given a genuine opportunity to decline, I think it's fine. I prefer it to the mics on the field tbh bc I do think it can distract them when they're on the field. Eta I was hoping SD would succeed ah well. Decided to switch to the Seinfeld ep with Keith Hernandez instead.

I saw the Seinfeld ep with Gina G. She was pretty good. I'm slowly starting to get back to watching tv shows after the Blue Jays tore my beating heart out of my chest and stomped all over it. The rape storyline- one irritation is it is so obviously not the same actor doing the phone calls, or in the scene when the rapist goes back to the house. Ridiculous. I'm hoping this story is over soon. What else. Oh Bunny just came on the scene. Michael and Julia.......meh......Michael always seems to have a penchant for falling for the wrong woman. I remember loving Michael and Flame though hoo boy. Last night I was watching a clip of Eden/Lisa. Say what you will about the story but MW is a great actress imo. I'm looking forward to finally getting to that again but I hate the Andre character. All the charisma of a short, wet, yellow dishrag.

Yeah I know I'm in the minority but I like the ghost runner, partly bc of situations like this.

So I know it's too early to say but it'll be interesting if a couple of the division winners get knocked out. I HATE this bye thing. I guess we're stuck with that until the new CBA? Like I wouldn't want my team to win the division bc of it. Not that the Jays would anyway, but it feels weird to be rooting to come in second in the division during regular season. And to jump to Phillies....I realllllllly want Atlanta to lose. It's totally petty but I guess bc Anthopolous was in Toronto all I hear all year long is how amazing Atlanta is and how Anthopolous is the best evah and maybe that is all true but I don't need to hear about it endlessly.

I'm rooting for Houston/Cleveland ALCS. In the NL- I don't like the Braves either but I don't really want LA/Houston part 2 mainly bc I'm sick and tired of hearing about what happened in 2017. Plus I don't want to hear all the editorializing if Houston won again. I'm not a huge Philly fan but I suppose I prefer them to the Braves. I'm neutral on SD and LA. It's a holiday here and I have to say it's really rude of MLB not to have any games scheduled.

Par for the course in Toronto. This was sealed with a failed trade deadline imo. The real shame of it is I think I'm going to have to stop making fun of Leafs fans.

I've been living in a construction site for a month (I think, I've really lost all sense of time amidst the drywall dust) due to a reno. And TODAY the contractor is getting rid of all the reno garbage. It's a GD baseball miracle folks.

Noon is TB and Cleveland....doesn't it bother you waiting for Yankees to play? It would drive me nuts to wait lol. Does anyone know if there's anywhere that lists who the broadcast teams are for the games? ETA never mind I found them for espn at least.

It's a great show, so many great guests. I'm doing a rewatch on season 3. Jan Hooks was always amazing.

I wouldn't discount Cleveland. I'll be rooting for them over TB anyway.

@ebk57 I love an enabler. Actually the only reason Im holding off is I haven't got the final bill for the reno.....playoff tix won't push it over the line but I feel like I should be responsible in light of that.....maybe by round 2 though, if there is one for the Jays.

I think it was wishful thinking for me lol. On the bright side I won't have to deal with the traffic/transit chaos of leaving a game surrounded by drunk people.
