  1. Good News/Bad News! Good news---Season 3 had been scheduled and will start Feb 18. Bad news---it's in the Sunday 10/9C "kiss of death" spot (where shows on CBS go to die). At least it begins after football season, so it should air at its scheduled time. https://tvline.com/news/cbs-premiere-dates-2023-season-delayed-ncis-young-sheldon-list-1235078886/
  2. Didn't Paul say something like "this step should take 20 min, the baking should take 40 min, we've given them 90 min, that's enough time but they have to move quickly"?
  3. Week 9 4/5 (missed the *) Overall: 24/45 3*
  4. I know (via this show) that you aren't supposed to stir it (a lot?) because that causes it to crystallize. What I want to know is what Tasha was doing wrong in the technical because hers wasn't browning at all!
  5. It was actually 3! The original (Season 14), "Unfinished Business" (Season 18) and "All-Stars" (Season 24).
  6. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Edmund_Fitzgerald Don't forget to sing today!
  7. I knew the phrase they referenced, but couldn't make the Kirk <--> Cook leap.
  8. I went with Addis Ababa, not sure if it was a capital or a country (there are several countries in Africa that I think are cities instead).
  9. Thank you zoey1996! I was afraid I would be all alone at T42. Week 8: 2/5 1* Overall: 20/40 (50%) 3*
  10. But you don't know that! It is quite possible that with the 1 hour lead, they could have gotten the last seats on a flight that arrives 4 hours ahead of the next flight (that the other teams would be on). If I'm middle of the pack, I'd try to erase that lead (rather than U-Turn a team at the bottom who doesn't need my "help" to get eliminated). Furthermore, it could have been like the infamous "Morse Code" detour and they could indeed have been eliminated.
  11. Week 7: 2/5 0* (thanks Mindthinkr. I was afraid I would be all alone at T42) Overall: 18/35 2*
  12. Since there are 9 teams, if it is a 4-4 tie, the "9th" team would have to revote for one of the two teams in the tie (remember, they are doing all the voting before the start of the leg, so there would be time for that one team to vote again without affecting anything). Now, at some later point in this (or another season) if there is a tie (or even a 3-3-3 this time), I don't know what they would do. Make everyone revote? Have a double (or triple) U Turn?
  13. https://tvline.com/news/dancing-with-the-stars-alyson-hannigan-how-i-met-your-mother-yellow-umbrella-dwts-1235065122/ Includes recent photos of Aly & Alexis, if you haven't seen them on anything lately.
  14. Week 6: 5/5 (the first of (hopefully) many this season). Overall: 16/30 2* In honor of my first 5 this season, I will bring my 7 layer cookies (melted butter, graham crackers, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, walnuts, coconut, condensed milk).
  15. Not just one! This one (that just finished) is Group 1. There are a total of 4 groups. See dates in the below link (does not list contestants. just dates of each quarter/semi/final). The last game of the last final of the last tournament group will be Dec 18. https://www.jeopardy.com/track/2023/champions-wildcard-s37-38
  16. Re FJ: Too easy for a Tourney! The only way it could have been simpler is if the clue said "It rhymes with Mold Maithful"!
  17. In the 3-letter words category, the first two answers given were "Tat" and "Tot". I thought we were going to have a theme (ie the other 3 clues would be "Tet", "Tit" and "Tut"), but no...
  18. Week 5: 2/5 1* Overall: 11/25 (44%) 2*
  19. All the clues involved someone named "Diane" (various spellings) and involved a homophone ("Cannon" for "Canon", "Gorilla" for "Guerilla", etc)
  20. If Phil says "you are team number X", you're safe. If he says "you are the X team to arrive", then you might be in trouble! I think he would have panicked a lot of people if he had greeted them with the "team to arrive. However..." line!
  21. I think that's this thread's motto!
  22. Quick interview with AB & CC about the Audible series (out Oct 12): https://tvline.com/interviews/slayers-buffyverse-story-cast-reunion-charisma-carpenter-amber-benson-audible-1235058308/
  23. Having seen both of these recently (thank you, Paramount+), these are 2 different seasons. In one season (Season 13), the frat boys (Dan & Andrew) did a detour that involved putting on a cow costume that had boots, so naturally they had to take off their shoes. They took their backpacks but left their shoes, figuring "we have to come back to return the costume so we'll get the shoes then". Surprise! They did not have to go back to return the costume so their shoes were left behind. They wore hotel slippers into the airport and spent a lot of money to buy shoes there. When they didn't have enough to pay the cab driver, one offered his shoes as payment (the driver did not take the shoes but the team managed to cough up enough money to pay him). In a different season (Season 9), one team was last on a non-elimination leg at a time when Phil took their belongings (you were allowed to keep what you were wearing at the time and your passports). One team gave them yoga pants to wear (yes, one of the unlucky team members was just in swim trunks with no shoes) and another gave him flip flops to wear. They eventually managed to get enough money to buy real shoes/clothes.
  24. Week 4: 2/5 1* Overall: 9/20 (45%) 1*
