  1. For those who saw Brendan's interview on Thursday's J!---so did Katie Couric: https://tvline.com/news/jeopardy-katie-couric-brendan-sargent-selfie-second-chance-season-37-photo-1235055871/
  2. I don't believe they knew it would be a 90 min episode when they filmed it, so they couldn't have added anything during the race to fill up the "extra" 30 minutes--the "padding" is during editing.
  3. This is what I got when I googled "MLB division series channels": All American League Division Series games will be covered exclusively by FOX or FS1, and all National League Division Series Games will be covered exclusively by TBS. So I think we are safe for J! next week.
  4. It's there under the team names. But you have to look carefully---the font seems much smaller this time. For the record the first group were within a half hour of each other (1st team 8:26, 6th team 9:01). The second group were about 90 minutes behind, also a half hour of each other (7th team 10:23, 11th team 10:55 ish, 12th team 11: 15 or so).
  5. Heads up Chicagoland viewers! According to Andy at thejeopardyfan.com, there WILL be J! today (Thursday) at its regular time.
  6. Because it is after the end of the regular Season 39 games (games would have started off Season 40 if not for the strike). The Sept 11 Second Chance was for Season 37 contestants, so not considered "Season 39 post-season".
  7. Article on when J! will return to "normal". https://tvline.com/news/jeopardy-season-40-update-new-material-timeline-strike-date-1235054456/ Short version: The "Wildcard" will continue until Dec 18, then (assuming they don't fill in with reruns) will be the "post season"--Season 39 Second Chance (which I thought we already had, so maybe a second Second Chance Tourney), Season 39 Wildcard and ToC. The bad news, apparently Mayim will be back Dec 19 (assuming she (a) is still with the show and (b) doesn't consider this something she can't do due to the actors' strike). Which means she would host the ToC. Of course, December is a long ways away. A lot can change.
  8. Note to Chicago J! viewers: There will be MLB playoff games Tues, Wed and Thur in the afternoon, pre-empting J! Those episodes are scheduled to air at around 3am each day (technically, the next day, but you know what I mean).
  9. All seasons of TAR are on Paramount+ (that's where I'm rewatching them--just finish #19, skipped #8 (the family one)). Seasons 5 (Myrna & Shmyrna) and 7 (Rob & Amber) are on Netflix. I think I read somewhere that Season 22 is/will be on Hulu. One of the fun things about rewatching is noticing how the non-elimination has progressed. First there was no penalty, then Phil stole their money, then Phil stole their money and possessions, then there was "marked for elimination" (if the team was first the next leg no problem. if not, 30 min time penalty), then finally the speed bump. There are things that have come and gone (yield, intersection, hazard, fast forward).
  10. I don't think they were allowed that option. Correct. The clue said: "You may take only one of these two flights". In the past, the first leg usually has 2 or 3 flights that they have to take. In past seasons, there have been times where "due to limited availability" teams are all given tickets on one particular flight "but they don't have to use them" (ie if they can find a better flight they can take it). One time, a team missed a mandatory flight, took the next flight, got a penalty.
  11. I don't think Michalle's answer of "Flamingos" (plural) should have been accepted. The category was "That's a Vegas casino" and the casino was (is?) "The Flamingo" (singular). Does anyone know what happens Monday? The SCT is now over. Will they go back to regular contestants/games (with the "recycled" clues)? Or will that "Season 37 & 38 Champions Wild Card Tournament" start?
  12. Well, since TAR 2 aired Mar 2002 (from wikipedia "Location scouting took place during September 2001 but was paused for a month and a half following the September 11 attacks.") we've really only had one season of "pre-9/11 airport scrambling". I think you meant "pre-COVID"
  13. I'm rewatching TAR from the beginning (just finished season 19). They only had a few seasons which had an Express Pass (just 1 and just the first leg). I believe later (I have seen all the seasons, just not lately) there were a couple of seasons which had 2 EP, but both were given to the first place team on the first leg, with that team having to give away one of the passes to the team of their choosing. So, to answer your questions--(a) Express Pass only on first leg and (b) you can only have one Express Pass. Assuming, of course, that nothing has changed since the last time they gave away EPs (I think it's been several seasons).
  14. Week 3: Christopher Meloni, Sherri Shepherd, Katie Nolan
  15. Currently rewatching all the seasons on Paramount+. Started watching Season 2, recognized one team (Danny & Oswald), thought the name of another team sounded familiar (Will & Tara) and ... that's it! Not one other team from that season seemed familiar (granted, it had been 20 years since I had seen it). Up to season 19...few teams I recognize. So, most of the contestants/winners are generally unremarkable. It does make it seem as if I'm watching a brand new season however.
  16. List of all winners (inc. pictures): https://www.goldderby.com/gallery/the-amazing-race-winners-2/
  17. SMG cheers on AH: https://tvline.com/news/alyson-hannigan-dancing-with-the-stars-cast-sarah-michelle-gellar-reaction-1235049636/
  18. Since the contestant didn't know the answer (Rosalynn? Really?), no. FYI, he (Jimmy, not Ken) and Rosalynn have 4 children: Jack, James III, Donnel and Amy, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
  19. The Grandma (in the Grandma/Granddaughter team--second out, Granny got kicked by the cow a couple of times) has died: https://tvline.com/news/jody-kelly-dead-amazing-race-season-16-contestant-cause-of-death-1235049016/
  20. Season 16 contestant has died: https://tvline.com/news/jody-kelly-dead-amazing-race-season-16-contestant-cause-of-death-1235049016/
  21. But even if the strike is settled today (and to a certain extent it is), it will still be a month (or more) before we get "regular games" (assuming they keep with "episode filmed a month before airing").
  22. According to TV Guide... Sep 27 contestants: Mark Duplass, Emily Hampshire, Utkarsh Ambudkar Oct 4 contestants: Brian Baumgartner, Lisa Ann Walter, Timothy Simons
  23. According to TV Guide... Sep 27 contestants: Brendan Hunt, Melissa Villasenor & Joe Buck. Oct 4 contestants: Kel Mitchell, Kim Fields, & Penn Jillette
