Week 7: 0/5 Overall: 15/35 3* Really not my day today: Not only did I not get FJ (earning me my first 0/5 week this season), but I didn't get Wordle (3rd day in a row), only 2 rows in Connections, and 1:33 on the (timed) mini crossword (I often do under 30 seconds and certainly under a minute normally). Sigh.

Week 6: 3/5 0* Overall: 15/30 (yeah! finally 50%) 3*

And it kind of was---FBI International just did a "foreigners fly to America, commit crimes, then fly back home" storyline. In that case instead of someone being raped. I believe that gang was based in Hungary instead of Albania.

Her name is Elsie, not Elsa. So, you still would have been wrong :)

Week 5: 3/5 2* Overall: 12/25 3*. You know, since there were 3* this week and I got 2, I'll bring meatloaf since "Two out of Three Ain't Bad" .

It might depend on where he's from. One season there was a contestant who lived in Scotland---I doubt he went home every week. Depending on where they live, it might be cheaper/more convenient to just rent a flat for a couple of months nearby.

Anyone else think "The Perfect Man" wasn't actually all that good looking? Or was that the point? BTW, it seems like they took away most of Elizabeth Marvell's (the defense attorney) lines and gave them to Benson. She (EM) seem to say very little. She said, what one word?, during the "take the deal" meeting. She was the attorney, not Benson! She should have been the one pressing to take the deal! The defendant didn't even bother consulting her attorney, just Benson.

I might accept the "campus police will get there sooner than NYPD so call them"...but what about an ambulance? I doubt "campus police" will bring an ambulance! You have two "obviously need an ambulance" victims, three if you aren't entirely sure victim #3 is dead. My first call isn't "9-1-1 I need cops", it's "9-1-1 I need an ambulance and police".

Week 4: 2/5 Overall: 9/20 1* I've done 2/5 for 3 of the 4 weeks this season, so I'll bring Certs since they are "Two Two Two mints in one!"

WARNING for Chicagoland J! watchers----Wild Card baseball game so no J! at its usual time. Both today (Tue), tomorrow and Thur (unless somebody actually wins, I suppose). So, archive game or watch at 3:07 am.

Week 3: 3/5 0* Overall: 7/15 1*

Exactly. Season 1 was only 10 episodes (8 1-hour and 1 2-hour). This season (since it's a regular series and not just a "special") should be more like 12 or 13.

Week 2: 2/5 1* Overall: 4/10 1*

You meant 552, right? (Fahrenheit + Dalmatians)

The first half was pre-empted due to a news update. As to FJ, I knew (a) Harry was 11 (b) he is not a half-blood (both his parents were wizards) and (c) the books are not told in the first person. So it was definitely not HP, I just couldn't think of who it was, so I said nothing.

Sadly, I did not "Remember the Maine". Question: Since most of J! was taken up by a press conference and I had to read it in the archive, the clue: The first courtroom verdict on live network TV was when this assassin's assassin was found guilty & sentenced in Dallas confused me. According to the correct response, it should be interpreted as "This {assassin's assassin}" but couldn't it also be thought of as "{This assassin}'s assassin". Yes, Ruby was the one on trial (the 2nd assassin of the clue) but couldn't it also be Oswald? As in "This person's assassin", this referring to person. Or am I overthinking it?

I loved Jell-O 1-2-3 (about 10 years after they discontinued it, they re-released it as "Rainbow 1-2-3". Only for about a year). In fact, my mother has a "Joys of Jello" cookbook and that recipe is in there (as I remember (not that I've made the recipe in the book), you don't really do anything special, the layers just ... separate). If I find it, I'll post it if anyone wants it.

Wasn't Danny Strong nominated (writing I think)?

Well, started quite badly, but rallied near the end: Week 1: 2/5

I said "teeheeing" which at least had 4 of the same letter (alas, "e" is not a consonant)

Here in Chicago, just after FJ was read, we had a "breaking news" interruption from ABC (RIP JEJ) which last just long enough so we could not see the end (couldn't they have waited 2 freaking minutes?!). They did announce the answer/winner during the regular newscast. Not that I would have gotten it.

And for those who want Rollins back---https://tvline.com/news/law-and-order-svu-rollins-season-26-kelli-giddish-episodes-1235326580/

I'm in. After my 49% this past season, there's no place to go but down up!

I say that every season and I think I do worse each year (I believe the year we started the contest I had a 60%)

My take on BMS Curies---There is their scientist daughter (Irene?) and they wanted to make sure the contestant knew which (female) Curie it was, whereas the daughters Obama aren't well known (and obviously weren't alive in 1989) and therefore no BMS is needed for the Obamas. Not that I'm saying I agree with the need for a BMS in either case.
