  1. Oh, that could be, but she probably also has a cook and at least one maid.
  2. I agree with this, and actually think most of the women that went through were not that great. The exception being the 16 year old girl who sang an original song, although even she didn't sound that great when she got out of her lower, whispery voice. And I didn't think the girl that sang with Lauren Daigle should have gone through, but they kinda had to put her through with Lauren showing up. Most of the guys they showed I thought were excellent. Loved the Hawaiian kid and the song he sang, which I was unfamiliar with. Colin, from Mississippi, who sang Simple Man was probably my favorite. I just wish the judges had told him to make eye contact more, so he could work on that before he gets to Hollywood. I think he only looked at the judges once during the entire song. I also had a hard time understanding him during his package because he wasn't enunciating. Didn't seem to be an issue when he sang though. The other Mississippi guy also had a nice rock voice, although he's a little awkward to watch. I felt bad for the kid with the bird who sang In the Still of the Night, since Katy once again made it all about her and was running around trying to catch the other bird.
  3. I don't think Eliza should lie, but there's no reason that Ivy couldn't keep working for her if Eliza and William were to marry. Or if Ivy didn't want to, they could probably afford to hire someone else if Eliza was working. Arabella seems more upperclass, which is why she has a chef, but Arabella also works, which William doesn't seem to have an issue with. I think his main issue with Eliza is that her work interferes with his work, and she also runs around London and gets herself into unladylike scenarios. I think he's finally starting to accept her profession though, and even admires her skills. I'm hoping Arabella's advice to William about how Eliza will never choose him over her career makes him finally realize that he needs to accept her for how she is, if he wants to be with her.
  4. It's possible I'm reading way too much into her appearance. Perhaps they just needed a woman to play the female teacher, and since Sarah was there to support Pedro, they picked her. But here are some more possible layers... Pedro and Sarah have been friends since college, and some fans even wondered if they had dated, back when Sarah dated men (she's currently with a woman). I even remember an interview where she was asked about it, due to a photo she had posted of Pedro licking her face. She responded with something like "Don't all friends lick each other faces?". So the bit in the sketch with them admitting they were dating might have just been them having a laugh at the fan speculation. Historically the term daddy has been sexual, but I think it's started to have a more innocent meaning, especially for younger fans. A protective, strong man, like Pedro's characters in The Mandalorian and The Last of Us. Since Pedro has played lots of fathers recently, a lot of fans refer to him as daddy, whether they mean it in the sexual way or the more protective father figure way. In a recent interview, he was asked about it and he admitted that he is a daddy, and joked that it's a state of mind. When he appears with a woman who fans also like, she then becomes mommy. Since fans like Pedro and Sarah's friendship, they sometimes refer to them as daddy and mommy, or mom and dad, like in a joking "will they adopt me?" way. I would never use these terms myself, but I'm familiar with them because they seem to be very prevalent in the younger fan base, the kind that make the fan videos. So I think whoever wrote that skit really did a good job of interpreting the current online culture of celebrity adoration by the younger generation and incorporating their slang.
  5. That would be awesome! He has narrated a few audio books, although it was when he was younger so his voice is a bit different.
  6. I think William saw right through Arabella’s little plan to rub their relationship in Eliza’s face, so I hope he dumps her ass in the next episode! What a conniving little b…
  7. I was really hoping for a Mando sketch, but I can’t be too disappointed because the sketches were great and Pedro was amazing! I’m a huge fan of his, and I just knew he’d break multiple times during the sketches! I love seeing the cast trying to keep it together. I feel like the fancam skit was pointed directly at the Pedro fans on tumblr and TikTok, but you really have to be an online fan to understand the meaning behind Sarah Paulson, and how spot on the the whole daddy/mommy thing was. I mostly lurk on tumblr, but I thought it was hilarious and I could just sense all the fan girls going ‘I’m in this sketch and I don’t like it’. lol Right before Chris Martin sang “tears stream down your face when you lose something you can’t replace”, he said “This is for Pedro and Veronica”. Veronica is Pedro’s mom who died over twenty years ago. He started using her last name after she died. You could tell in both the opening and closing what a dream come true this was for him. I’m glad he was able to have some of his family there with him.
  8. I don't normally watch SNL, but Pedro will be hosting this weekend! I'm sure they'll do a Mando skit. Hopefully it's not too stupid. 😆
  9. I’m at the point where I have to look away from the screen anytime they show the fungus or the zombies. I had no problem with the zombies on The Walking Dead, but these are triggering my trypophobia like crazy. Anyone else having this issue? Twenty minutes after the show ended, and my skin is still crawling thinking about the ones with the fungus exploding out of their heads. 😫
  10. That's probably true! I don't know why it bothers me so much. lol I guess I'm projecting my real life experiences on her actions. If the show was closer to real life, we'd miss out on a lot of scenes, like the ones with Eliza walking around the city alone, or meeting William and Moses in private.
  11. I felt so bad for Eliza. She made him a cake, probably because she feels like she needs to at least try to be a little more domesticated, even though it goes against her character. But apparently Arabella's milkshake cakes bring all the boys to the yard. I get the sense that the writers are really trying to delay any romance between Eliza and William for as long as possible, so Arabella is probably just another delay tactic. Maybe some competition for Eliza will help her to decide what she truly wants in their relationship. Last episode I was annoyed that Eliza broke into the coroner's office, and this episode I was annoyed that she picked the lock on Arabella's safe. It just bothers me that she thinks she has the right to snoop into places where she's not allowed. I guess William wasn't any better, breaking into the shop without a warrant.
  12. I’d also like to see her stop breaking into places. I get that it’s hard for her because she’s a woman, and therefore doesn’t have access to as many places. But she’s not a police officer, so she’s not entitled to the coroner’s report.
  13. I was just thinking about that while watching the last episode. I, too, enjoy the way he speaks, even though some might find him a little too over the top or emotional at times. It's a nice change of pace. I LOL'd at Jack asking Gary what old chains were used for. And Gary's response... to wrap around a heavy treasure chest of course!
  14. True. It’s definitely a roll of the dice. I do like that they stuck together as a family, and that Levi didn’t follow. lol I was sick of the love triangle.
  15. It’s been there a while. I remember them calling it a memorial rock garden. Here’s some more info. https://m.facebook.com/RedBeardofOI/posts/3832175363493001 Would be odd if they decided to dig up the memorial!
  16. I think a lot people would choose to start over and at least have a chance of a good, safe, life. Not much different than the migrants who come to the US seeking a better life. If I had my loved ones with me, I’d definitely choose modern times over 10,000 BC.
  17. Wow that’s really early! Hopefully I can avoid spoilers since I don’t have PBS passport.
  18. I don't hate her, but I find her to be too sanctimonious at times. I don't get the impression that Arman thinks that he is a good man, but Thony acts like she's always in the right, and expects Arman or Garrett to bail her out when she gets into a mess. I thought the way she reacted to her husband's death was pretty cold. I don't think she even shed a tear. Also, she doesn't smile or laugh much. She's just a bit of a drag. I think some of it is the acting, but a lot of it is the writing. I think the writers could do some small things to make her more likable.
  19. I remember hearing about that and realizing that they must have filmed the seasons back to back. Then it made me wonder if the 12 episodes were always planned to be split into two seasons. I just hope season 3 isn’t the last!
  20. This show is getting dark. I was hoping Arman would shoot Kamdar instead, although he would have had to shoot the other thug first, and that would have been too risky since that guy was pointing his gun right at Thony. I can't believe Arman has now killed two people for Thony! Their blood is just as much on her hands as it is on his. So not only is she a drug smuggler but she's now an accomplice to murder. I wonder if the original show this is based off of also had the lead be so unlikable. I did like Thony's red dress. Arman seemed to like it too. 😏 Big improvement from the zebra outfit with the chunky costume jewelry earrings.
  21. I don't think they've ever said, but I guess we can now assume she's not a teenager. Lucas mentioned taking her to a bar. I had just assumed she was a teen because she looks young, and because she was still with her kidnapper and helping him kidnap other kids. I would hope a 20 something year old would have ran away from their kidnapper once they got older, but I guess she had stockholm syndrome. She definitely has issues she needs to deal with. I suppose that's why I find her a little more interesting than some of the other characters. I think I would still prefer her to be a younger sister to Lucas than a romantic interest. I hope Lucas survives. Maybe someone in the village knows of a cure. The time shenanigans in this show are so wacky, but there's no point in trying to figure out the logic. I LOL'd at the doctor going "Woah, it's like I just remembered a new memory!"
  22. That was me, and my conjecture came from a few lines from last season. I assumed that during the time frame when Eliza and William were going out to dinner each week, that he had put a pause to his side dalliances. Going out to dinner was pretty much courting back then, and I hate to think that William wanted to have his cake and eat it too. So I was a bit annoyed at him that he went right back to his loose women. I also was annoyed that Eliza knew about it and didn't seem the least bit annoyed! Why aren't more people annoyed! lol Although I didn't enjoy the behavior, I did enjoy the shirtless scene, and I love when his hair gets wavy. I wish it could be like that all of the time, but I suppose that was considered unkept. I also liked William's clothes being thrown at him, and the on going joke that Eliza is not his wife! Really curious to know how Ivy tracked him down. I'm finding the mysteries this season to be much more complicated and convoluted than last season. I don't want something that is obvious and easy to solve, but I'm finding them difficult to follow, and I don't always understand how Eliza manages to put the pieces together. Eliza took a bit of a backseat this episode, but I really didn't mind, since it gave a chance for others to shine. And despite being stuck in a room, she still managed to solve the case. lol Really liked Ivy's storyline, and happy to see at least one of the women on the show grabbing the bull by the horns! Maybe she'll inspire Eliza to go after William.
  23. I think I would find it less enjoyable because we would be deprived of so many of Eliza's and William's conversations that happen in private. One of my favorite scenes is the one where Williams spends the night, Eliza fails at cooking, and they share a moment while boiling an egg. 😆 That scene never would have occurred if the show was historically accurate. I also consider the show to be light-hearted, fictional drama, so I don't think the creators should have the responsibility of "telling it like it was". I understand your criticism of Titanic, but I think exceptions can be made for this type of show.
  24. I definitely have to hand wave a lot of the historically inaccurate, modern customs that are shown. I read that women would never share a carriage with a man, unless they were related. And of course she wouldn't have gentlemen callers at night, especially without a chaperone. I think if the show were completely accurate, it would really affect the storylines and would be much less enjoyable. I get the sense that he's not really looking for a mate, and has plenty of "loose" women on the side that keep him satisfied. But he's still drawn to Eliza, despite how much she vexes him. And I think he still feels obligated to look after her since her father was a father figure to him.
  25. I thought I was the only who liked Lucas! I like the sibling dynamic that seems to be developing between him and Veronica. At first I thought it might be romantic, but I think she's supposed to be a teenager. Although the actress is in her 20s, so who knows. I thought it was interesting that Dr. Sam seemed to be showing more interest in Izzy than her actual parents. Maybe he's just missing his own daughter. I wonder if all the villagers are from the future, and decided to break off from the rest of the scientists, or were thrown out of the tower. It would explain why they speak in such a modern way. It does frustrate me that no one besides Scott seems to be asking any questions about the villagers or the tower people.
