Speechless Close To Home: Real Families, Real IEPs
bros402 replied to Drogo's topic in Speechless [V]
My district cut services for me while hiding it in a super long IEP meeting. I was being mainstreamed from self-contained, but they didn't want to pay for another OT to provide services to me, so they put it in a single sentence in like 5 or 6 pages of papers my parents had to sign at that meeting. I hope it is that it is because of them moving so frequently, so he doesn't have the proper background knowledge. I think they will handle it well, given how they have handled previous topics. -
In his speech he talked about how he applauded the brave cabinet members for being willing to invoke the 25th amendment
-
The district I attended "accidentally" skipped my triennial evals after 2nd grade. When they called the state in 10th grade for advice to get me accommodations for the PSAT (Got denied) and the state told them to just send in my most recent triennial, my case manager was like "uhhhhh ummmmmm sure." Then they scheduled an evaluation (not a full one, though).

Yeah, they use polonium nowadays :P

Districts break the law all the time. But a parent like Maya wouldn't let that slide. Maybe it'll be that the state did an audit of their records, since they have gotten a sudden influx of students with disabilities - and they saw some kind of discrepancy in JJ's sped record.

That episode was so good
-
I'm wondering why JJ has to repeat. Is it because of grades, or did they have him on a certificate of completion track, as schools sometimes do with students with disabilities?
-
Probably a very high value treat

ugh. I know ABC had a big comedy slate - I suppose it is better that they cut a few episodes instead of having a hiatus or airing it in a weird timeslot. Since, assuming Disney buys Fox, they will own Speechless - so they get all of the profit.
-
Stevie had a friend who owns a taco truck cater the party, I believe.

That was my thinking, too. Since once you reach that age, you want to try the least support possible while in the most supportive environment possible to see what works for you.

That assassination method the assassin used seemed much more Mossad than KGB. Mossad does motorcycle bombs - the russians seem to do poisoning or gunshots

I liked that episode. A good holiday episode.

Saw that when watching the New Years stuff tonight. Was happy that they had Speechless in it!
-
Or the landlord comes by, is like "What is that dog doing here? That's against the lease!" Then they see JJ and just assume it is a service animal.

My grandparents offered to pay off the debt, but my parents didn't want to accept financial help. They were happy enough to have them babysit :D

Hey look, everything I was going to type, I can just quote. Why do characters in shows like this take dreams as things that could happen/are feelings they have? Walter incorporated Florence that way because Florence found him, he incorporated her in the dream somehow. They haven't even hinted at Walter having any kind of feelings for her before. Maybe it will happen for half of an episode before Sly asks Florence out and Walter loses interest. Or Walter wants Florence more, starts arguing with Sylvester, drives him out of Scorpion for a bit (Ooh, look, a season finale idea!), then blows up all of their relationships. Can we have more episodes where the end of the world/destruction of the city isn't the consequence if they fail? And maybe something where they fail?

Let's check social security! https://www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/ So, the twins were born 1980, let's just look at 1979 and 1981 just for fun. Popularity of the name Sophia: 1979: 426th (490 girls) 1980: 366th (642 girls) 1981: 211th (1233 girls) Now, let's look at Sophie: 1979-1981: Did not rank in the top 1000. And for fun, Sofia: 1979: 816th 1980: 823rd 1981: 664th Let's chalk it up to being a family name. Or maybe a name in a TV show or book her parents liked.

S04.E11: Who Let the Dog Out ('Cause Now It's stuck in a Cistern)
bros402 replied to thewhiteowl's topic in Scorpion [V]
The dog broke its leg so that is why they were saying it couldn't come closer -
They probably ask the NSA to do it.
-
It's a comedy - and this school seems very... permissive and sheltered. It's entirely possible that Kenneth might think "these cameras could be fake"
-
Yeah. My parents had around $100,000 in medical debt starting 3 months after I was born. They paid the most they could every month - and they would probably still be paying it today if not for the generosity of the hospital that cared for me for the first three months of my life - they received a large donation and forgave the bills of many patients, including me.
-
That would have been amazing I wouldnt be surprised if they bugged his phone while he was in rehab and they have more layers to their keeping an eye on post rehab spies than "let's follow the trained agents and be obvious about it"

uh oh Bess told him near the start he should take up racecar driving if he wants something to give him an adrenaline rush. Are we gonna have Dr. Five Star General (Ret.) Future-Pope Henry "Arm Candy" McCord become a NASCAR champion? Also, can the photos please be used as blackmail to somehow make him leave the spy industry and turn back into a religious scholar? Make him a champion Formula 1 & NASCAR driver. Ooh, and Monster Truck Master.

Speechless is the second best comedy in the last two TV seasons. (Sorry, but The Good Place is #1) My parents have slowly been watching Speechless, they just finished Season 1 Episode 12, Hero. They've been teasing it, and they threaten that the cause of his death will be revealed by the end of the season.
