  1. I agree with you on this. Shannon wasn't trying to be Mrs. Roper. Her point was that Mrs. Roper was an iconic 70's character, so even if she did look like Mrs. Roper, what was wrong with that at a 70's party stupid Kelly. Please Show, don't bring Kelly back next season. She's awful. Troy and Owie are too cute.
  2. There were many arranged marriages in that time. I'm sure priests married lots of crying brides and thought nothing of it.
  3. Diana said on CompuServe yesterday that this scene was a pickup scene inserted after the episode had been shot and edited. She did not write that line, it was Ron's idea.
  4. I do too, but only if it doesn't slow down her writing of book 9.
  5. No, you weren't the only one bothered by that. That scene wasn't a very good ad for their surgical practice. I sure hope it was staged. Could you imagine if somehow that patient recognized herself in that scene.
  6. I didn't like the think of England thing either. Also really didn't like the taking the orange thing. I figured as soon as I saw the scene that it was improvised by the actor. It was too playful and light-hearted considering the circumstances. Claire's supposed to be upset about Jamie dueling even though he promised to wait, Jamie being in the Bastille, Faith's death, Fergus' rape, the events in the star chamber and the violation by Louis. It just didn't fit the tone of the episode. I wish the director wouldn't have left it in.
  7. Oh god, I'd forgotten we have another beard to come. This one was so, so bad. I love the poster upthread who called it a merkin. Made me snort laugh. I hate to hear of anyone losing a job, but hopefully we'll have a new hair/beard person on the crew for the Ardsmuir beard.
  8. Good point about his voice change in that scene. I didn't think of it that way. And I guess I'd sound pretty rough too if I'd just gotten released from the Bastille. Going back now to watch for the blue light. I didn't catch that either.
  9. His voice even sounded different to me in the scenes when he had the beard. Maybe the beard did affect the way he moved his lips.
  10. I don't find Ron's podcast on the Starz site or this episode on On Demand yet. Is it just me?
  11. I think you're right, she's pissed about somebody skinnier.
  12. The NCIS office is actually on a soundstage. The courtyard is not open to the outside environment.
  13. Does anyone know how all the Downton ladies are ranked now that Edith's on top of the heap? I sure hope Mary's at the bottom now. Also, how often did Debrett's Peerage get updated and reprinted in the past? I'm sure it's all online now, but when someone died unexpectedly and the next heir was way down the line like in Matthew's case, would the book have to be reprinted? On the episode topic, I loved every predictable minute of it. I wish DA was a soap and would be on every day for the next 40 years. Gemma Violet, on 06 Mar 2016 - 10:28 PM, said: I'm sure one of the most important duties of a ladies' maid was doing hair. I'm sure Anna was as good as any professional. Too bad she couldn't work the same magic on her own hair.
  14. Crabmeat au gratin is from heaven. The best version I've ever had is from a Creole-Italian restaurant. That fondue at Toups Meatery is amazing. One of my favorite go to party foods is crawfish queso. Made with Velveeta.
  15. We had to see Jimmy handle the commercial issue the way he did so that we could see his "Saulness" in action. If he'd have done it by official, sanctioned channels, we wouldn't have seen the outlaw vibe that Saul will have. Any by the book attorney could have handled it in a by the book way. Jimmy and Saul are not that type of attorney.
  16. Karen is definitely doing a peace sign.
  17. Nope, not just you. He does look good this year.
  18. It was filmed at Destrehan Plantation just upriver from the city. http://destrehanplantation.org/
