  1. He's 100% dead. There would be no purpose to him surviving. His story is at an end. The show would take a million steps backwards if he was in another season
  2. What Janae didn't realize and what her teacher didn't tell her is that what she saw in that academy is not the norm. She probably went away from it thinking that that is how all white kids get educated, when really thats the 1% even for white people. The school she was in didn't seem that terrible, the teacher should have sent her on a trip to a very impoverished school to see the other side as well to help her realize that there are inequalities in the world. Failed opportunity for a lesson and instead it just gave Janae a lot of pent up frustrations and anger
  3. I don't get why bailey is convinced he is "homicidal". is he just listening to Taystee's rants on TV and forgetting his own mindset. he was one of the few guards trying to do the right thing, is he seriously deluding hissed into thinking that he intended to kill Poussey? Hell he didn't even intend to hurt her. It wasn't one of those push her down the stairs out of anger but not mean to kill her things, he was active trying to calm down a situation. Suzanne gets off scott-free on the blame, they even let her lead a "spirit" service for Poussey while Bailey is painted as the viciously killer of her? His weight killed her. Basically it's the equivalent to a chest full of books crushing Poussey and nobody doing anything about it and then afterwards fully blaming the chest of books itself for killing her. And the big problem with this is I don't know what the show is intending. Do they intend to show us that Taystee and her friends may be consumed with grief and are lashing out at others trying to blame something or someone for Poussey's death? But it seems more like the show wants us to condemn Bailey as a murderer as well (since Taystee is almost always painted as a hero in each episode) and ignore all the facts about the events of the death. The message of the show just is not clear
  4. I personally believe this was one of the worst episodes of the series. A huge swing and miss on an attempt to hit a grand slam. And the reason why is how disingenuous the show is being while trying to make big political points, points that do not fit with the characters or the story. Judy King being dragged around like slave... again is that supposed to make us applaud the inmates doing it? If so it's really complete fail. They try and turn certain characters like Cindy into heroes, a character shown to have not an ounce of care for anyone else, even in her backstory she did everything for herself one of the few characters with our redeeming qualities actually. They have completely messed up the character of the Track girl (I forget her name). So I am to assume that after giving up on school she went on to pursue a successful track career (which btw she landed herself in prison completely, she was on her way in Track. The "system" did not land her in prison like maybe some of the other inmates). Compared to many of her fellow inmates she was fairly well off. A star student, star track runner etc. And that's compared to the white inmates too. Was Pennsatucky more privileged than her? Of course not. The show intentionally tried to divide the white and black inmates in this episode, undoing seasons worth of humanizing all of them.
  5. Yeah I agree. Red is basically a caricature now.
  6. I am confused as to what the show is intending. Are we supposed to be egging on the inmates and laughing/cheering on their humiliation of the guards? Or are we supposed to be seeing the dark cracks in the inmates?
  7. Minnesota is 47th out of 50 states in murder rates. That's what makes Fargo intriguing.
  8. The Twin Cities area isn't exactly "the hinterlands".
  9. I'm not exactly sure what's been set up for the finale. Seemed like a fairly tame penultimate episode. Especially compared to the past seasons.
  10. I really don't understand how Frank and Claire continued to get things done this season. Both of them have dropped all pretext and are complete jerks to everyone directly to their faces, they openly threaten people regularly. I don't see how they expect to win or keep any allies doing that. And yet somehow that still run roughshod over D.C. Without allies. And Claire has just made a whole new slew of potential enemies with Stamper, Seth and of course now Frank.
  11. If a woman ever told me they were sleeping with me cause they hated me I would be like "oh man you got me good! Just what I hate the most, sex!"
  12. I have been getting annoyed at Kim all season for basically forcing herself to live her life in the most unpleasant way possible. Why is she breaking her own back for this? She's not even using the vast amounts of money she must be making. Remember when she showered at the gym in the morning rather than at a home? She doesn't seem like a particularly proud person so it's not as if she's trying to prove someone wrong. I guess she's just one of those people who literally cannot stand being idle. We all know people like that, and Kim takes it to an extreme. It's finally costing her here.
  13. Definitely. The way he was describing Zoe was probably exactly the way he felt about Rachel
  14. You guys are right about that. I think it would have been better if in the 1st episode we could have seen Emmit and Sy get into this loan and maybe show them ignoring details or something that made it clear it was through a fault of their own. But as it is, it went on off screen before the season and it seems like a 100% Varga swindle deal. Ray's robbery attempt, aside from getting Glorida involved in the story, effectively got nothing done in this season.
  15. Who's this new woman who seemingly knows everything and can speak every language? I don't even remember where she came from, she just appeared out of thin air a few episodes ago. have no idea why anyone would be trusting her. And when did Frank decide that the best way to try and win people over is just to be an intimidating jerk to everyone ?
  16. No way. That was the best part of the episode. That hunt scene was perhaps the best scene in all of the Fargo seasons. Why would you want a reduce in time and completely kill the mood of the best scene? Not every little thing has to directly advance the plot. There's a certain art in scene building that I am glad they did not ignore in that scene. Rest of the episode was borderline garbage
  17. The events of the show are still way more crazy than real life. An execution broadcast live throughout the USA? Americans turned into "ICO" agents wreaking havoc on the country? Using terrorist "events" to alter elections? People really overrate the realize craziness. I mean most of the stuff is happening in the Middle East and Europe right now, not domestically.
  18. Haven't seen anyone mention this, but I loved seeing the "Cheap Seats" twins again on TV. (The guitar store guys). They had a show on ESPN Classic called Cheap Seats in the mid 2000s where they would watch old ESPN telecasts when they showed strange things, like world women's surfing championships or roller derby and basically just make fun. Very underrated show
  19. And it seems like the stories are becoming more and more distanced as well. Chuck seems completely separate from Jimmy now. Even jimmy and Kim aren't really on the same page.
  20. I hate the Tom/Claire scenes more than anything in the world
  21. And I really hope this show isn't numbskulled enough to allow that to happen. I mean it's called House of Cards not house of stone
  22. Can you imagine if a candidate in real life did 24 hours of Skype questions? I feel like it would be nothing but pure trolling
  23. This is so bad now. I haven't had this much change of heart for a show in a while. I don't think I enjoyed a second of this episode. The writer character is perhaps my least favorite character in any show in recent memory. All of his attempts to be wry or have dry humor fall flat on their face and yet it's somehow seducing Claire.
  24. I honestly really don't like that. I was hoping they wouldn't try to mimic real life too much but it seems that's exactly what they want to do. I just think it's lazy and acts too self important. And as person who really hates the current political climate IRL, I really would hope a show wouldn't try it's best to imitate it. Orange is the new black did the same thing last season.
