  1. Loved Best in Show and agree with the results. I also loved the German Shepherd (well, I loved them all....so beautiful and lovable), but the top two were my favorite two. This is among the best TV viewing of the year. So great to escape the madness of the daily news with these beautiful creatures. Kisses to all the doggies!
  2. When is your trip? Please do post about your experiences in the Small Talk forum when you return!! Bon voyage!P.S. If anyone in your group backs out, let me know!!! I can be ready in a moment's notice and my passport is current!
  3. I just loved the agility championship on Sunday! Not only do the dogs work their tails off, but the trainers get a darn good workout too! The slo-mo of the dogs running through the weave poles was a thing of beauty, ears flying and jowls jiggling. And I especially loved the dogs who barked during their run. Such enjoyable TV viewing! Thanks, Westminster!
  4. Shame on you, Edith. That was the time to 'fess up to Bertie. You should have said "no, she's not my family's ward." If he couldn't deal with that, better to know now and better for him to hear it from you. And I couldn't wipe the smile off my face when that darling dog was revealed. And Robert looked genuinely thrilled. Well done! OH, but when I saw the mysterious man lurking in the bushes outside Mrs Patmore's B&B, I thought oh crap! Not another blackmailer wanting to cause trouble. Please, no more of that b.s.
  5. I do!! I keep it on hand throughout the winter for my hot toddies! Hmmmmm, time for one now.......
  6. Actually, I wanted Lakisha to get the money so she could buy a better wig. WTF is up with all the fugly synthetic wigs lately?
  7. I googled Waco's most eligible bachelor. If you remember, at the beginning of the episode he said he moved back to Texas from NYC. He was a model for Ralph Lauren and Abercrombie, so he has big bucks! Forgot to add...he is BIG into fishing and is now a competitive fisherman...who knew, but he even has sponsors. I am dangerous when I post as I watch and not after... Don't start a drinking game every time pretty boy bachelor says "oh my goodness." You will have a ship lap of a hangover tomorrow!
  8. Can you borrow me some money....I want to get a titty tat that says "they don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous , they keep me here because I'm smart." That should take up my entire chest. And under that I'll even put a postscript just for you "thanks ElleMo." But don't construe that as a promise to pay you back because it was really a gift.
  9. Yeah, Crystal Methven was my favorite name.
  10. Yum, sounds good! I have kielbasa in the freezer so I could substitute that! Thanks! It is from the website www.scatteredthoughtsofacraftymom.com and the actual recipe name is Creamy Green Chili Enchilada Soup. Of course adjust the recipe amounts for the size of your crockpot. I don't defrost the corn as she suggests and I've never added cornstarch to make it thicker. Also, I am hooked on the jar of pickled jalapeño slices typically used for nachos, so sometimes for a bit more kick, I drizzle in a tad of juice from the jar. And the cream cheese melts better if it is softened.
  11. I don't know that I actually need a recipe, but maybe i do. Friday is soup day (and other sides) for the staff at the school where I volunteer. Those who volunteered to bring soup need to bring it in a crockpot and leave plugged in for about 2 hours so that all the staff can eat during their various shifts. Chili, taco soup and chicken w/wild rice (my favorites) were already spoken for, so I chose to make a chicken green enchilada soup that I have enjoyed. Ok, my question is.....before serving you break up and stir in a softened block of cream cheese to melt. I have never left it in a crockpot for 2 hours after making it. Do you think the cream cheese will break down over the course of two hours? I really like this soup...decadent and hearty...but if anyone else has a crockpot soup that holds heat well for 2 hours, I'm all ears. But it can't be the other 3 already spoken for. Thanks!
  12. The Magnolia B&B is already booked for the next month: http://bizbeatblog.dallasnews.com/2016/02/wacos-hgtv-fixer-upper-couple-taking-reservations-for-magnolia-house-website-crashing.html/
  13. ok, two of my favorite posts ever happened this week! The one from Milz above and Angela's "I'll split ya doon the middle!" Thank you both! Life IS worth living! Regarding the scarf sisters, I immediately thought JJ's staff put them on the ladies to hide particularly offensive tattoos. Those ladies did not look like the type who would wear scarves.
  14. This wasn't even a JJ case, but I bet Toaster would still give it three gavels!
  15. Or one of those braided trivets that you get at the church bazaar to put on the table for hot pans.
  16. I am not a violent person, but the other day I wanted to smack the shit out of smirking Angel in the rerun of putting the password on auntie's laptop. But today's POS defendant in the pit bull case almost made my head explode. Not only is there something wrong with her laughing it up after her own daughter admitted she lied in the statement and after JJ chewed her ass out, but she has lived in her house for 30 years and doesn't have homeowners insurance!! I am immune to these idiots who don't have car insurance--don't understand it, but I am used to that. But no homeowners? I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. What in the hell do you think happens if your house catches fire, you dumb shit? Do you expect Byrd to rebuild it?
  17. Don't know if anyone is still watching this show but me, but I have actually thawed a little regarding Chris as host. He is doing better, not great, but passable. But this week....UGH UGH UGH! Yet another Bachelor/Bachelorette week. Shit, I didn't watch them on their own original shows, and I sure don't want to watch them and their vapid, inane responses. I hope the chick who returns tomorrow twists her ankle on those shoes she's wearing. She can barely hobble around but, ooh, they look so sexy, so she will have to carefully navigate each step she takes.
  18. ClareWalks, please update us on the Shefit when you get it. I agree.....it's brilliant and if it's as comfy as it looks, hell, I'd pay twice that and order three!
  19. Oh no! Because this channel has not crammed Guy Fieri down our throats enough, just saw a commercial for Guy and Hunter's European Vacation. Apparently Guy and his son are experiencing food throughout Europe. I am already so embarrassed for this country and this series hasn't even aired yet. Dear Europe, not all Americans are loud, sloppy buffoons. Love, Spunkygal
  20. Hmmm, doubt that the prices I'm looking at are regular price....high $300s for rear mezz, $400s for front mezz and you can imagine what Orch tix are. I'm not bitching because it's my birthday and I have to see this show. I guess I'll bring my tent to sleep in. Weather should be decent in May.
  21. I am dying to see Hamilton and just learned that American Express card owners can get tix through its website for a short while. My birthday is in May and found a 2 pm matinee which is perfect on my day!!! So, my question to you theater gurus, is there a less preferred area to avoid, i.e., upper mezzanine vs. lower mezzanine, or does it matter? Is it worth the extra bucks to sit in the orchestra section? Sorry if these are ridiculous questions to you Broadway pros, but I appreciate your input and any other tips you may have. I'm so giddy!
  22. Ugh.. I so liked this couple last year, but Chip has become so goofy and asinine. I could not believe it in the intro when he's hugging her, she starts to pull away and he starts flicking his tongue at her ear repeatedly. Gross! So NOT necessary, you idiot! Antics like the tree climbing and the seed spitting would probably not bother me if these things were one stupid antic per episode but it's almost like every segment has something childish. The house was okay. The crystal sconces in the master bedroom were pretty but seemed a bit too large for that space for me since there were two. I kind of liked the darker wood paint/trim. It was interesting and different, as was the mercury glass finish in the pantry panels. I just wish the producers would let Chip dial down the goofiness.
  23. I loved last night's episode of Lori and Monty taking the shop to Anna's mother's house. Anna lost her 8 yr old precious son to a form of leukemia and just couldn't get excited about her wedding which was in about 2 days. Anna looked so beautiful in all the dresses, but made the perfect choice for her venue. The love and support from her parents and best friend just oozed through the TV and I am not ashamed to say that I was glad to have the Kleenex handy. And also, Anna and her husband produce the most beautiful children! Those kids could be models. What a heartwarming episode and a nice break from the demanding divas and their critical entourages. More like this, please!!
  24. ....a weird dislike of Mamie possibly because LBJ did not walk her down the aisle?? J/K
